Hi!
Presale question: Our website (wordpress + woocommerce) ranks really bad on the product categories. Does and if so which options provide this plugin to improve this?
Thanks! Joost
This plugin will help but is in no way the only thing you will need to get your site ranking better. I suspect there are a number of other things that you would need to improve in addition to optimising Woocmmerce.
Hi!
Fully understand that SEO is a constant process and one plugin can’t change the world.
With my question I was hoping to get more info about the settings WooCommerce SEO provides in optimizing Category ranking (titles/description)? And if it supports the build-in Schema.org for Rich Snippets that Woocommerce? Can you modify them in a way, adjust settings?
Rich snippets are built into the Woocommerce core already. However, you will need to make sure that any theme you are using is not overriding the Woocommerce templates and if they are then the theme will need to add the markup itself.
With regards to the plguin, the features speak for themselves. Removing the product category base will give you a shorter cleaner URL. Using the SEO layered navigation widget instead of the built in one will give you keyword rich URLs when using filter instead of codes and IDs. In addition to the the plugin allows you to set a template (a global template as well as a template for each individual category) for the meta title and description so each filterable page has a different meta title and description as opposed to having the same as its parent category. However, you don’t need to use a template and could just write a just meta title and description for each page individually. This is particularly useful if our trying to rank for say ‘Large Black T-Shirts’ when ‘Large’ and ‘Black’ are your attributes.
The rest of the features just make managing SEO a little easier.
However. we have a lot of other things planned for the plugin so this is by no mean the final set of features!
Hope that helps
Hi!
Thanks for the extensive reply. I will look in to the theme about the rich snippets.
Seems like a awesome plugin so ready to buy!!
Last question (than I stop bothering you) Year ago @abarre commented about the possibilty to disable Yoast for product_cat and product. You said that the option was removed by Yoat and there was (at that time) no time to find a suitable solution.
Any updates regarding that? Otherwise I assume I get conflicts.
Thanks again! Joost
If you use Yoast plugin, don’t set a meta title and description template in that plugin for product categroies and product. If you do, then whatever title that is set by Woocommerce SEO will be overridden by Yoasts plugins.
Ok perfect thanks!
Hi
I use views from toolset to create filters for my navigation with custom taxonomy, will your extension be able to give me pretty permalinks for those pages also as it shows up for layered navigation?
Please confirm!
It depends. The pretty URLs are generated on the fly IF the layered navigation is present on the page i.e. you have to be actively using the layered navigation widget. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘views from toolsets’ though.
Hi Code-Ninjas,
Is it possible to hide a product filter when no products are visible with attributes attached?
Or hide a filter when only products with this attribute are shown?
Thanks
By default, if the attributes has no products attached to it, then it is not shown. You can’t hide a filter when products are showing because the user will need a way to de-select the filter to go back to the original product selection.
Would this plugin be used instead of say for example Yoast SEO or in conjunction with?
Thanks!
Hi,
In conjunction with it. The Woocommerce SEO plugin only adds SEO functionality to Woocommerce. You would still need something for Wordpress itself.
Hi, another question. It is installed, but when I click on the categories, they are saying page not found. How do I fix this? I am sure it is something simple. Also, I wrote on an old comment, but in case you don’t see it, do I need to use another SEO plugin with this? I was using allinone SEO and I used to see the meta data fill ins on the product pages, but now I don’t see anything. Thanks so much for any help! – Kelly
Hi,
Try refreshing your permalinks. See if that fixes the page not found issue.
The plugin only handles SEO for Woocommerce so you will need something else for Wordpress. Just be sure that whatever you use for Wordpress doesn’t overwrite the Woocommerce SEO plugin. There might be a way to disable the Wordpress SEO plugin from handling any of the Woocommerce stuff.
hi, I have purchased the plugin on Friday I installed it but it does not work, in fact I blocks the website. How can I do? Can I get a refund?

Will your plugin support the above config.

So, installation went great, but one question. Do I now need to disable any other SEO plugins? Will this take care of everything I need?
Disable the other SEO plugins for Woocommerce only. This plugin only handles Woocommerce and leaves Wordpress SEO to other more capable plugins.
I have these available tags(attributes) Available tags: [category] , [color] , [ean] , [manufacturer] , [model] , [productgroup] , [size] , [upc] , [brand] , [mpn] , [partnumber] , [itemdimensions] , [binding]
But they do not show up. How do I enable tags/attributes in the product title or description?
Simply add them to the meta title and description fields as they are shown. e.g. Color is [color]
thanks but it doesnt work….Rated Service Capacity: 6 months or 300 gallons (1,136 liters…....[upc] <—it showing the “literal” term not the actual attribute.
What about other attributes? Are they showing correctly?
“Other Attributes”, yes, category title is showing, but all others dont show, such as, product upc. please advise.
And the product that you are viewing them on has these attribute assigned with a value?
Yes, for example, if you look at the following link you will see the attributes in additional information – http://www.hardwaretools.com/product/makita-xph012-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-cordless-12-inch-hammer-driver-drill-kit-with-one-battery
Are you using the tags on that product anywhere? If not, add some for that product so i can see.
no, product tags were not being used. I added some. for the below url/product:
http://www.hardwaretools.com/product/makita-xph012-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-cordless-12-inch-hammer-driver-drill-kit-with-one-batteryI can’t see any tags in the meta title or description. Where did you add them?
oh, ok. looks like it doesnt have one now. I was hoping your “Global Product Meta Settings” would handle this. Why does this setting not turn on?
It does turn on. Is it not working for you?
No, Where would I PM you? Can I give you back-end access?
You can PM using the contact form on my profile. For the description, you can write a unique page title and meta description for each category in the category edit page. Theres fields there for both.
know something of the resolution of the problems?

There seems to be an error with this plugin correctly updating the wc_ln_count transient for terms?
In the layered nav widget on my site, it’s only displaying some of the applicable terms and not all of them. I figured this could be because the list of terms is not updating correctly when posts / taxonomy terms are being updated, so I checkout the transients in the db.
There is a known issue with this on the WC Github – https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/issues/6843
Somewhere around line 130-140 in widgets\layered-nav.php there is this line:
$_products_in_term = get_objects_in_term( $term->term_id, $taxonomy );
According to the github issue – should the transient be set using term_taxonomy_id ?
I am a bit lost as to where the problem lies as it also seems to be a WooCommerce issue but I’m not sure in which version this has been fixed – I’m using 2.2.8, but reluctant to upgrade to 2.3 just yet because of the points raised above.
Any help / advice you can give I would be most grateful
Thanks
Hi,
We’ve fixed compatibility issues with Woocommerce 2.3. While testing 2.3 we didn’t come across the problem you are referring to (the counts were all correct). If possible, try setting up another installations with Woocommerce 2.3 and the latest Woocommerce SEO plugin and see if everything is OK.
great, thanks for your response.
Hi, just purchase your product, unfortunately, I did not realize it was not compatible with version 2.3.3. Do you expect a patch soon?
Working on it at the moment. Should be out soon.
$woocommerce->get_attribute_taxonomies()
with
wc_get_attribute_taxonomies()

I just installed this plugin and I’m getting this through out the site: Fatal error: Call to undefined method WooCommerce::get_attribute_taxonomies() in /home/madmondragon/lgeel-hookah.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-seo-latest/woocommerce-seo-widgets.php on line 25 How can I remove the plugin manually since I don’t have access to the admin panel?
Nevermind I figured how to downgrade woocommerce 2.2.11. Thanks. Will there be a fix soon for this?
Working on it as we speak.
