Testing on Android 5.0.1 but it’s the same result on 4.4.2. It’s using Flash: <embed type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” >. Works fine in my mobile browsers, but can’t seem to get it to work here.

Shockwave flash has been deprecated and is not available on most Android devices (therefore I would not recommend using it). http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html

And even though that, we turned on plugins in our code: mWebView.getSettings().setPluginState(WebSettings.PluginState.ON);

Keep in mind that most browsers are not WebView based (gecko, chromium, etc).

The application will show your website in a ‘frame’ so it will appear as a native application. It will look similar to how it looks in your mobile browser, but there will be no address bar etc.

Important This application will not convert a desktop site into a mobile site.

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble. Are you using the web generated version? Have you linked the Google Play Services library (instructions can be found in your docs).

Currently, I don’t have a solution within our template (I’m working on it though). I’d recommend using a webview alternative like Gecko: https://github.com/mfinkle/geckobrowser

1. Web2App is best if you are displaying a single website or if you’re using the mobile web (e.g. a Jquery mobile based app). Besides navigation, rating, and notifications, you have no need for other native functionalities. If you have a Wordpress blog, a RSS feed, twitter timeline, etc that you want to display in your app (natively), I’d recommend Universal.
2. Not completely, Universal has responsive navigation but Web2App has more useful features if you app is completely web based (and it’s easier to use).
3. If it’s completely web based, I’d recommend web2app.
4. I’d recommend Universal.
5. You can login to our website and generate your custom template, you can also use the offline version (both the same, but the generated version already has a custom package name, url, id’s etc). Both versions do not require a connection to our servers or a specific script on your server (besides the Wordpress api, if you use it).

For items 3 & 4… So let’s say I want to create a city guide using wordpress. In the wordpress I will have categories and posts under that categories. I plan to put categories (restaurants, hotels, etc) and under posts I plan to put the business name, a photo & details (may maps also). I want to display full wordpress website on app, not rss feeds. So there is possible to have in app a first screen with categories, and when clicked it will display the business names and details (wp posts in this case)? What tool is recommended for doing that? Universal or Web2app?

For item 5, regards web2app: I did not understand well. So I will have the script to run in my server or offline (local pc) which will generate the apps?

If you want to display your ‘full Wordpress website’ in the app, I’d recommend webtoapp (it will be like viewing your website in the browser).

We generate your custom webtoapp template on our servers.

You can integrate Airpush, but you’ll have to integrate it yourself (it’s not kncluded in our support).

Basic support for 2.3 and full support for 4.0 and up.

Did you change you packagename? Are using the offline or the online version? Are you using parse?

Could you try cleaning your project (project/clean), removing the app on your device, restarting Eclipse and try again?

Changing the package name can be very tricky, for that reason I would always recommend to use the (free) web based template generator, which will auto edit your package name.

I would like a few more questions to determine the cause of your errors: May I see how you linked the project? Could you send a screenshot of the ‘library’ tab? Are you targeting Android 4.4 or up?

Make sure to change it only once every file. If you’re still experiencing trouble, please create a screenshot of the error.

You don’t seem to have linked Google Play services. This is described in your docs.

If you’re upgrading from the old panel (sourcebaker) you need to login here to retrieve your data, after you’ve done this you can create an account at the new panel by registering for a new account.

The splash screen is only shown when the webview is actually loading. Removing the splash screen would result in a blank screen (same as setting a blank image).

but can it not just be removed and when the app is clicked on it just goes straight to webview, not really wanting the splash screen as have no use for it.

As said earlier, the splash screen is only showed when the web-view is blank/white. You’re free to remove it, but this customization is not included in our support.

I mean import or use the wordpress database without need to insert all posts everytime again.

Web2app can display any webpage, so it’ll look like you view the blog in a browser.
