hello but where do you put the query? I do not want display all the images that are in the directory, why are hundreds. I want to display only images those of record selected.
Hello, the code for reading the images are in the reader.php file, but I recommend you to create a new folder and then erase the images that you don’t want to show, and use that folder!
can you please tell me where the gallery is? since I can’t find any instance of the auto grid
can’t generate the auto thumbs to show up
the link you posted is broken, can you check it out?
this is weird, I checked it on my phone and I was able to open it in the browser, but then I checked it on my laptop and the link was broken and also in my phone, like if it was temporary up and then died, can you check this?
the gallery page still loads up and show empty thumbs that responds with a click and each opens the correct gallery image in its full size
how do i fix the thumbs issue?
pleas try to help me up…
i have changed the dns of the domain lately dose it affect the inner path’s of this plugin?
../../plugin/js/and that’s not from my plugin, you can download it again and reaplce the autoGrid.min.js file or use the autoGrid.js file instead (the not minified version)
I hope this make sense, Kind Regards
thanks a lot david that was it!!! now everything works just fine…
is there a way to fix this tiny w3c error:
http://sinta-bar.co.il/gallery/1.htmlError Line 85, Column 35: there is no attribute “data-directory” ? You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the “Strict” document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the “Transitional” document type to get the “target” attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as “marginheight” (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.
How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.
Hello, is the gallery in this location? http://www.sasson-bar.co.il/test4/gallery/gallery/
If so then set the permissions to read and write to that folder and its subdirectories, since as you can see it says forbidden.
Kind Regards, David.
http://www.sasson-bar.co.il/test4/gallery/1.html
this is the url
Ohhh I don’t mean your page where the gallery is visually, I mean the “gallery” folder, where your images are stored (the files), this is the url isn’t: http://www.sasson-bar.co.il/test4/gallery/gallery/
Great plugin. I’m trying to implement it in my joomla site, but I can’t see the images! the site is http://www.crocenti.com and the module where I’m loading the images is under the “Foto” menu. I loaded the css and the scripts with absolute links and my Firebug says that they are correctly loaded. Maybe the problem is in the images path? I loaded your gallery in the root of the site and tried also to move it in my “templates” folder, but it doesn’t work. Suggestions? Thanks for your help!
OK, never mind. I resolved by myself, it was just a problem with the position of reader.php. Thank you for your job, this gallery is really stunning!
I’m glad everything is in order now
Presales questions I have php script website and wants to add this as an another feature in the header. Just wondering how do i install this?
Is this php addon?
Is there any way to put ads
Hello, if you got PHP then you only need to add few lines of HTML and the plugin will do the rest, you can see it here: http://www.davidbo.dreamhosters.com/plugins/autoGrid/
Just scroll a little bit down and you’ll see the few lines of HTML that you need!
Hi David,
I’m trying to insert your gallery inside magenta CMS page. To be able to make it I will have to be able to change the reader.php path.
Do I have any way to change it? Already took a look inside autoGrid.min.js but probably you can tell me which line to change.
Thanks in advance
Hi, I recommend you to use the autoGrid.js file (the not minified version) just find this: reader.php and there you can change the path, remember that it must be relative to the page where the gallery is going to be, Best Regards
Thanks for your answer David. I will try it and come back to you with the results. Thanks
David, sorry the late on my answer, but only today had some time to test again the gallery. It just worked fine editing autoGrid.js file. About the script for automatically generate the thumbnails, how can I get it ? Thanks one more time for your help
I’m glad it did, here you can download the thumb maker: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vb29yg6f9j5x6av/thumbmaker.zip
Thanks David nice work.
thank you
Would it be possible to add a feature to use a text file inside folders for generating the names of the subalbums (e.g. _name.txt) to be able to use special characters and umlauts on “server friendly” directory names?
003_Zoo_Koeln_20-01-2014 -> Zoo Köln 22.01.2014
Another interesting option would be the automatic removal of configurable sorting prefixes (like “everything behind first _“) and underscores for the case one doesn’t use text files for the name, but wants “Zoo Koeln 20-01-2014” to be shown. For longer Folder names it would be cool if the gallery could cut them to the size of the thumbnails with ” ...” behind and maybe show the complete title on mouseover.
Best regards, Christoph
P.S: Sorry, I wanted to post this comment to “Auto Albums”
...
Hi, the server friendly sound like a good idea, I will definitely consider it as a future update
but unfortunately I’m full of projects and I wont be able to update this soon.
Kind Regards!
Genereating thumbnails the easy way: Just use the batch conversion of http://www.irfanview.de/ and enter $D\thumbnails\ as output directory. Thumbnails will be generated for all your images including subfolders into thumbnails-subfolders.
Thank you for sharing this
Hola David,
I like your work a lot. But I have simple question, and I hope you give me simple answer: How do I use this script witout the php part and its features. I mean, I just want to use the plain javascript code like in Ultimate Grid Respnsive.
Greets from Europe,
groovy75
Hi, that is not currently possible, that was the purpose of the Ultimate Grid Responsive Gallery, make it simple for just HTML
David thats funny, because you know better. Everything is possible. There are some minor changes to accomplish that. But I hoped you have a quick solution.
It would be great for future products if customers can choose between php and plain html trough an additional option. Or to make it easier: the js code could check if there exists a php file or not. Even much easier: just provide customers with both autoGrid.js files, since they are almost identical.
Other question: The gallery starts with all images. How can I start the gallery with category 3 for example?
Wish you a nice day!
groovy 75
Hello, well, I though about it before I made the Ultimate Grid Responsive Gallery, but I don’t think it is that easy. because first, you must specify all the HTML markup manually and then run it into a JS function so the plugin wait until those images are loaded and then add it to the grid, that sound kind of simple but if you do it just like that many options will not work for example the lazy load feature, the number of images to load, etc. so you would need to code other ways to accomplish this in just plain HTML.
Many customer asked me a way to do this as well and they offered to pay me a fear amount of money for the hours it took me to make a way, but instead of charging them for a custom job I made another plugin so they only had to pay 7 dollars, which is super cheap for a custom job. so I think is a fear deal. Also the JS files are not almost identical, I had to change many things, if you are inspecting the JS file in the demo of the Ultimate Grid, then it is the same because that demo is using the Auto Grid plugin, in this way bad people can’t just copy and paste the source file and make it work without a license.
That option is not yet part of this plugin, but I’m thinking on add it as a future update
Have a nice day as well, Kind Regards!
David, you are doing a great job, and your grid gallery is far better then anything else.
I just have some ideas how it could be even better, and I would share them with you.
Last question: The gallery starts with all images. How can I start the gallery with category 3 for example?
Thanks for your friendly service.
Kind regards,
groovy75
Hi, thank you and of course you can share new fresh ideas, you can also send me a private message if you want. (in my profile page at the bottom there’s a contact form)
Regarding your last question this was the answer in my previous comment: That option is not yet part of this plugin, but I’m thinking on add it as a future update
Cheers!
Hi! I installed your script on my website, for some reason it isn’t showing up on this one page, but is working on all other pages, any idea why? Thanks in advanced!
Not working: http://www.apartmentinistanbul.co.uk/apartments/besiktas/8/ Working: http://www.apartmentinistanbul.co.uk/apartments/besiktas/10/Hello, did you fix the issue? since I see both of them working, or can you tell what the issue is with the first link? Best Regards
It doesn’t recognize the json_encode() function, so something is missing on your PHP configuration or you got an old version of PHP, I would recommend you to ask your hosting provider to fix that so your PHP can handle the json_encode() function.
or you also check your PHP version and check what may be the issue, I found this by googling in 2 sec https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=85639
ok – now implented at a different webspace and now also works with a e-commerce cms (modified ecommerce = oscommerce fork). Had some troubles together with lightbox, but now solved. www.lws-shop.at thanx
Dear David,
Thanks for a great plugin.
Have two problems – when I click on thumbs the link opens in new window. The other problem is when using Chrome or Safari the grid doesn’t load every time not even if you try to reload the page.

I already answered to your question here: http://codecanyon.net/item/auto-grid-responsive-gallery-wordpress/3959433/comments?page=7&filter=all#comment_5566215
Hello,
When I open the file in ” example folder” photos and gallery doesn’t work, even i upload it on my server, still the same result.
Please tell me how can I fix this bug or issue ?
Hello, can you share the link to your site where the gallery is? so I can inspect it, also make sure you have PHP running
here you are: http://kianiexchange.com/collection/tiba/index.html my server is linux and I have other CMS like wordpress on it.
Ohh I did notice but I did answer you via email to this email: tibakh@gmail.com
Alright, you may be using another library (besides jQuery) please contact me via email so I can send you some file that you must replace
Thanks, support was amazing and my problem has been solved.
Hello,
Is it possible to set a max height for the container? I want to use this as a banner on my home page but I’d like the height of the whole thing to be fixed to 300px
I’m not sure I understand, but the height of the grid will depend on the height of your images, so you can only make sure your images have height of 300px
Hi,
Is there a way to link a thumbnail to other than a home page of a website. That is adding an URL with special chars (/, ?, %...)?
Thanks for the great work!
Found a solution for a link (| instead of / and % is allowed) but now the image src doesn’t seem to split on ”$$” so it’s not valid?
Any help?
It’s great talking to myself…
Anyway, did it!
I guess it would be usefull to someone else, so here’s what i did:
After the line 619 of autoGrid.js I added link = link.split(']').join('%'); and in the title changed % char with ]
Now it works!
Hello, I was on vacation, but I’m glad you solved this, thank you a lot for your solution
Does this plugin work for PHP Version 4.4.9? It has been working well on my test server which is running PHP Version 5.3.19.
Warm regards Denise
Hello, currently I’m not able to test it with that version of PHP, since I don’t have it, some methods may not be supported
Hi! It realy do the hard work. Great! Please, is it possible to hide “All” category? I’m using folders and I want to start at my first folder. Other possibility to help me is to put “All” as the last category. Is it possible?
Hello those functionalities are not in the script as it is, that would required to tweak the script in order to achieve that
Do you have any suggestions for not only photo in the folder, will tell you the image of the external? If I enter a list of addresses in the file.. (ex:’http://i.imgur.com/ABC.jpg','http://i.imgur.com/DEF.jpg','http://i.imgur.com/GHI.jpg','http://i.imgur.com/JKL.jpg') I want them to be displayed.
Hi, that is not currently possible with the script
I recently purchased your plugin and really appreciate its functionality and ease of use. I have had a couple of glitches, it was working perfectly running it on XAMPP, but then it stopped displaying the nav or links to the folders, and the image hovers no longer work or are clickable. I did some tinkering with the grid function properties, no luck. Any suggestions you make would be helpful. Great job on this plugin BTW.
Hello, did you customize the code? or maybe you added new styles or JS to your page, it can be several things, so if you could provide me the URL that would be better
Does this script require that we use an FTP program to upload the files?
How do we categorize and upload files? Is it through the WordPress admin?
Need to know before purchasing.
Hello, this plugin is a stand alone version! maybe you are talking about the WP version: http://codecanyon.net/item/auto-grid-responsive-gallery-wordpress/3959433 and yes you must upload your files with FTP or you can use other tools such as WP file manager, that allows you to upload files in the WP admin page: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-filemanager/screenshots/
You can read about this in the description of the plugin!
