I just purchased this plugin. I am wondering if what I require can be achieved with the options already available in the plugin.

Here is my requirement. I have the iframe in a wordpress page. I need to be able to pass a parameter which has a url, and I would like that url to be loaded inside the iframe.

For example, if my page path is mydomain/iframe-page, when I enter mydomain/iframe-page/?path=http://domain1.com I want domain1.com to load inside the iframe. So if I just change the url for the ‘path’ parameter I should be able to load a different url.

Is this possible with the existing option in the plugin?

Thanks in advance.

Not direclty – I plan this for the next version. But you can right now configure that a parameter shows different urls like show|1|your url does then open your url in the iframe if you add show=1 to your url. This is a little less flexible but much more secure as only urls you define can be used. You find this setting in the advanced section.

Can this plugin change height on dynamic fields? Hidden fields are shown upon selection from original set of fields…

I don’t know what you mean. This is an iframe plugin. What has this to do with the height of a dynamic field?

Hi there,

I’m iframing onto another of my pages, but the iframe shows up with a grey border. Anything I can do about this? Thank you. I can amend the page I’m iframing to, but I don’t know what to write there. (I saw a similar comment here)

Ryan.

I think this is a styling/theme thing. I was able to get rid of the border by adding in: { -moz-box-sizing: border-box; border: medium none; } No luck getting the change to stick, or fixing it in other browsers. Any suggestions?

you should check your theme where the border does come from. Than you can modify the style of the site you want to insert the iframe dynamically with ai pro

Pre-sales question.

I have an external member log in page that I would like to place inside of an iFrame on my site. As soon as I log into the member login site using a standard iFrame plugin, the external membership page opens in a new window.

I’d like to force all content to be displayed inside my site without busting out of the iFrame.

Would your plugin be able to help with that?

which of the logins do you want to use?

Traffic Campaigns

AWESOME plugin. Very configurable and the auto height was a big saver for our purposes. Support was excellent and prompt. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting full capabilities when embedding iFrames in WordPress.

Thanks again Michael, you have done great work.

hi i can user this external link in dew page have url example.com/title of target page

with my header

Hi, Sorry I don’t understand your question.

When viewing iframe on a smaller screen (Tablet) or IPhone. How can we resize iframe content to fit to page?

iframes can be set to e.g. 100% width. But than the page inside the iframe still needs to fit (has to be responsive). In the next version of advanced iframe pro responsive auto height for the same domain or if the external workaround can be used is supported.

I’m getting a 404 error for any setting i try to change. Do you have a forum or how can i go about troubleshooting this?

I have your latest version, WP 3.8.1

The same problem was discussed a few days ago by mozakdesign. you mod_security does block this post. Unfortunately the other user was not providing any more details about this. Can you check the log file of your server? There you should get details why this is blocked. If I have a message I can do something. Meanwhile you can simply configure everything with shortcode attributes. Any default setting can be overwritten.

Hi Michael. I’m interested to buy the pro version but I have one question. Using the feature to hide some parts of a page of a different domain, when we define the position, it’s possible to count from the bottom? I mean, I want to hide a footer, not a header, so it’ll be useful to define the position based on the bottom of the external page. Thanks.

Maybe it will be not possible to do what I pretend. Nevertheless, I will show directly what I would like to do. In my wordpress site, I want to create an iframe of this page http://home.standvirtual.com/aritoautomoveis_listagem.html . Then, I would like to hide the header (something like 170 px from the top) and the footer (1370 px from the top / 300 px from the bottom). The problem is when I click in an individual car from the list (you may try to check it) the page extends and the footer is now located at 1770 px from the top but it’s the same 300 px from the bottom. So, I thought if it would be possible to refer to a position from the bottom it might work. If you have any suggestion how to solve this problem, I would like. I will buy your plugin even if we don’t solve this issue (it’s not mandatory to hide the footer), but still my wordpress site would look much better without it.

Unfortunately this is only possible if you can use the external workaround. The “Show only a part if an iframe solution” is like a window over the iframe. The header can be hidden by moving it out of the viewport but if the footer is at a dynamic place you cannot do this.

Ok. I will explore in more detail if it is possible to use the external workaround. Thanks very much for your time. BR, Pedro

Hi … great plugin!

Few questions. 1st: what I am iframing is on another domain so I still need to add the special code … but before I ask them to I wanted to make sure a few quirks I am seeing will go away once I do that.

See: http://findleypto.com/opconnect/find-a-station/

1) the links work – try Location Details. But – when I click the back button on my browser the links no longer work. Should I be doing something special?

2) The links Get Directions open up a new tab and are thus blank in the iframe. Will this fix that: Change iframe links: a Change iframe links target: _blank

3) will this work once I have the script in place? Hide elements in iframe #top

Many thanks!

yes. You also need the external workaround than.

Thank you for your quick reply

Do you use more than one iframe? Because than for the external workaround you need to specify the settings before the place wherre you include the Javascript. See the pro demo for working examples.

Hello, I have a presale question.

When you insert a frame, and a person visits my web. How works the cookies? Does the visitor cookies go to the framed web page? thank you regards Octavio

No – cookies are always bound to a domain. (Check the cookies e.g. with firebug)

I’m getting the following error when I try to update any of the plugin’s settings

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/options-general.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Note: I am using a sub domain http://opconnect.mozakdesign.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=advanced-iframe.php

Is it possible the script is not referencing the file correctly?

This link does need a login. The link itself is correct. But is seems that if a post request is sent the request is blocked. So I still think you have a mod_security issue like explained in the link I already posted. If you are not able to save anything you are still able to use the short code attributes to configure everything.

Mod_security does block the post because it does not like something in the request. Have you configured mod_security by yourself or can ask your hoster about the configuration? it would be interesting to know what cause the blocking. Because most system do work without any problem.

Hi, Apologies for asking on the comments section, but I couldn’t find support.

Thanks for a great plugin.

I’ve tried to sort this issue – the solution is either really simple or not possible, so maybe why I get get to the bottom of it.

I’m developing an iframe for a booking system withing a website. All I have to go on is their FB tab which incorporates it.

Basically, the behaviour of the https url is that when you select a (in this case) therapist, that the page scrolls up to the booking selection.

Can I get my iframe to have original behaviour of the site in question, or is this dependent on other factors?

Any info would be appreciated.

Regards,

John

Hi – sorry didn’t make myself clear. It’s the booking system itself that displays the behaviour. The https was a typo. Thanks for your reply.

So is your problem solved now?

Yes thanks

Hello, I have bought the pro version of advanced iframe. I would like to ask about different browsers. the imported iframe works in Chrome, Safari, but not explorer or Firefox or mobile device.

I would like to ask for some support to be able to display a booking engine in a resizing iframe. the engine is here: https://www.booking.divinecoastcyprus.com/hotel-booking-pro/index.php display page is here. https://www.divinecoastcyprus.com/book-now/ thanks Chris

For me it does not work on any browser properly as you don’t have a valid certificate running on the page in the iframe. You need to fix this problem first.

Hello,

I successfully tested the free version, but wanted to be able to show just part of the page (a sign-up form) in the iframe and position it precisely. THe content page is on the same domain as the site, but pulling from another source. It passed the URL checker.

When I purchased and used the same shortcode with the pro version, the shortcode test displays, not the page (which is a sign-up form). Needless to say, none of the attributes are working (crop the displayed page).

Here’s the URL of the page with the iframe: http://wells-smith.com/staging/gci/signup-test/

So,, what am I doing wrong – why is the shortcode text showing when I use the pro version?

Thanks!

gary

Yup, it’s always a dumb mistake. Thanks for the clue. Working fine, now.

I think I will replace the spache with a REMOVE_ME :)

Good idea. Anything to make it clear and simple. Of course, it would also help if I simply got new glasses!

Hello,

I am wanting to use this with another plugin that allows for iframes but has these limits:

Notes/Limitations: Do not use any single quotes ‘ in the code, this will break the menu. Shortcodes do not work in sub menus.

Does your plugin create HTML without quotes in the code and no shortcodes? I just need plain HTML in order for my other plugin to work.

Hi, You don’t need to be a coder. But you need to read the documentation and you have to understand that there are different sections which are simple (default settings) and more advanced onces where you need to know basic html to e.g. find the correct id or class. For the widget you simply go to the widget area and drag the advanced iframe pro widget to e.g. the sidebar. Than you get an empty text area. There you only have to paste your shortcode for the iframe. The default shortcode can be found at Settings -> Advanced iframe Pro -> default settings. This one you can simply copy and paste to the widget. Than you should already get something.

First read the quickstart guide to understand which settings you can use. than click the “show this section at the bottom” and save. Than the default settings are on top. The settings in the administration are the default ones. Means they are applied to each shortcode you insert to a page or widget. But you can overwrite each of the settings with the attribute described at each setting. Be aware that each section does something different. So you only need to use the ones you need. For a default iframe you only need the default settings. For more advanced setups check the pro demo first. There you see many examples. And even an area selector is in the administration where you can select regions with the mouse.

And finally paid support is also available like described in the settings.

Best, Michael

Michael,

I did those things and could not get it working…It just loads a blank frame..so I guess I will have to pay for support or just be out $14 for the plugin. Stupidly I could not test for the plugin on the free version or I would have known…

And the documentation..The language is a little difficult to understand..sorry! Its very difficult to read when you are trying to also understand something very technical. I find myself reading the same lines over and over…its quite maddening.

But thank you for your time.

Deedee

Than you have maybe one of the two problems: either you mix http with https (Check if your pages use the same protocol. ) or your page cannot be included (have you checked your page with the free iframe checker?).

And yes. Some parts are very technical because they unfortunately are and there is no other way to do this. But in your case the problem is not related to one of the settings. This plugin can do stuff which can not be done by default by an iframe. This is why I offer paid support as I know that some parts need technical background. Best, Michael

Hi There,

I have build an website in Wordpress and i have bought your plugin to extract an movie-schedule from another website. As you see on the link below i only wanted to have the table, but I am not an expert in programming. Which settings do i need to grab only the table from this website: http://www.tblcinemas.com/?tab=sched

to fit it in the content of this website: http://www.minixneox7.nl/tbl-cinemas/

I would use the area selector to select the table and use the provided shortcode directly. You can than enable scrollbars as well if you don’t want a fixed heigth but than you see the bottom of the page. See the pro demo as example.

Best, Michael

I am interested in purchasing this plugin. Unfortunately, we are having trouble with the URL Forward Parameter. The issue is unanswered in the plugin forum here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/url-forward-parameter-name-returns-404?replies=3

There is another plugin called “URL Params” (http://wordpress.org/plugins/url-params/) that enables us to populate an iframe src with url parameters – but it doesn’t work with your plugin. We would be satisfied with what’s currently working (see below), but we want to make use of some of the advanced features here.

Currently working with URL Params:
<iframe id="myiframe" src="http://www.mydomain.com/report.html?name=[urlparam param="bizname" /]?address=[urlparam param="address" /]&zip=[urlparam param="zip" /]&phone=[urlparam param="phone" /]" width="100%" height="1000" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

The 5.3 version is already on review at codecanyon and should be approved soon. I don’t see an e-mail here to sent you the version.

Thankyou… send to: admin ‘at’ ecovalence.com

5.3 was approved…

Hi, I have a pre-sales question:

I tried your free plugin and it looks quite robust. It appears that the Pro version can hide specific elements from the source page.

On this page: https://signnow.zendesk.com/account/dropboxes/20249778?x=1#/dropbox/tickets/new

Would your plugin be able to hide the entire “Search our Knowledgebase” element in the top right corner? And what about the grey background that’s behind that form?

Thanks!

Hi The pro version can place a colored div over the “search out knowledge” area. So it is hidden. It cannot change the background as you are not on the same domain or you can use the external workaround. See: http://www.tinywebgallery.com/blog/advanced-iframe/advanced-iframe-pro-demo#e8

Great, thanks for your quick response! That helps.

Is this a problem? Warning: fopen(/path/to/../plugins/advanced-iframe/js/ai_external.js) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /path/to/../plugins/advanced-iframe/advanced-iframe-admin-page.php on line 268

The .php file exist and has read/access permissions. The .js file does NOT exist, but this one does “ai_external.template.js”

Yes. Because this file is needed for the external workaround. This file is generated from your settings. The js folder needs write permissions.
