Convergine – great file, excellent system – very easy to use and install. I have one small problem. When I click on Upload button in Upload File area, in my Browse window in my files of type field – I get this :

Allowed Files:(.;.:)

which does not allow me to browse for the files. I then switch to:

If you have disabled javascript or you are having troubles with this uploader you can upload files with old form here

Which now allows me to see the images on my PC. insert the image, give it a title, and I get the following error

Not allowed file extension JPG !

I have jpg and jpeg extensions in file extensions, which is by default, so I deleted and reinstated both thinking this would solve the problem, but it did not.

Your help would be appreciated to solve this issue.

x us down here

Hi manamedia, thank you for purchasing.

You need to set file extensions on PER USER basis. So if you’re logging in with user who needs to upload JPG files – set JPG extension for this user with admin account … same for admin account, if you can’t upload files with admin account – login with admin and set file extensions for him.

Let me know if you will have any other questions.

Hi

Thanks for the info – as suggested in the FAQ , I edited the ht.access file, but this just resulted in an error message on trying to visit the site.

Then edited the php.ini file – this allowed the upload to finish and the script returned a “file uploaded” message

But then the file is not listed – looked in the upload folder using ftp and it’s empty.

Any suggestions on where to go next would be a great help

Many Thanks

Did you set CHMOD 777 for upload directories ? You can contact me through den page – that way I will be able to help you faster.

I’ve purchased the script and installed OK (cool script) – I seem to have a bid of a problem uploading larger files – around say 75MB. Uploading gets so far then stalls – (upload limit and file size set very high). I’m sure it’s not the script, probably my godaddy shared hosting – but any suggestions on how to overcome this problem would be very welcome. – Thanks – DSkey

Thank you for purchasing.

Please read last couple of questions in FAQ section, the problem which you have depends on your hosting, there are several options how to increase upload limits on server side. Everything is pretty much explained in faq’s, let me know if you will have any other questions.

Hi,

Bounding know how your script is excellent, I think it lacks a search for files, imagine someone with 3000 files. just as a suggestion of a sudden in the next update.

Greetings, I hope your budget.

hi,

when you can have me ready on the budget billing system.

thanks

Hi,

sorry for the delay. Please provide your email or send me a quick message through den page so I could reply to you by email (non – authors cannot be contacted I guess, because i don’t see such option when I view your account. didn’t know that :) )

Hi,

I’m looking to make a script, I need a quote. I resell hosting and I need the following.

Details:

I need a script to perform the functions of WEB HOST MANAGER COMPLETE SOLUTIONS , but done in ajax and jquery, but without the part of tickest or knowledge base, and integrate it into a support system i have, which buy in codecanon, the idea is that no event exceed the price of whmcs nor arrive at your price, if I could help with that would be great.

Website www.whmcs.com www.hostbillapp.com

I will prepare the quote/questions later today and will send you by email.

Most likely upload directory doesn’t have writable permissions or you didn’t set it up correctly.

Best regards

Hi ocafilomena,

Thank you for purchasing,

Same thing as I replied to helpdesknetve, this error indicates that upload dir and script dir variables in dbconnect.php were not setup correctly. Please re-read comments in dbconnect.php and in manual which came with the script. If you will have more troubles you can use den page to email us with the question.

hi,

the scripts is good.

I did a fresh install of this on my web and I am getting this error on the initial page:

Notice: Undefined index: logged_in in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\index.php on line 59

Once logged in, clicking on the User Management link gives this error:

Notice: Undefined variable: extensions in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\users.php on line 206

Also oon the Extensions link, give the following error:

Notice: Undefined variable: users_table in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\extensions.php on line 141

Also the Uploads link, give the following error:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/home/helpdesk/public_html/uploads/PAGINA WEB BASICA .docx) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/helpdesk/public_html/web/filemanager/js/upload.php on line 58

Most likely upload directory doesn’t have writable permissions or you didn’t set it up correctly.

Can you please assist? Thanks!

Hi,

Notices which you refer to will be fixed in next update, however they do not impact script functionality at all. To hide them all you need to do is open those files and write

error_reporting(E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);

on very first line of the pages with those notices, right after <?php

Regarding move_uplaoded_file error -again, it means that script dir and upload dir were not setup correctly in dbconnect.php, if you will email me through den page with we can try to fix this together.

Hi

thanks for your quickly response, the problems is done!!

please let me know for update the script.

Best regards

Great tool, do you have any plans to implement a download notification option for the admin?

Hi NetHawk,

Thank you for purchasing our script.

You mean when somebody will download a file – admin would get email notification ? If yes – we don’t have in our plans such functionality. However if you desperately need that – you can contact us through den page for a custom functionality development quote.

great and promising script. nicely presented, it is clear and has pleasant icons.

a few things

1. on line 224 of users.php there is a double php closure

?> ?>

2. new folders are created in the “script directory” shouldn’t they go in the uploads dir?

dbconnect.php contents:

$script_dir = '/'; $upload_dir = '/uploads/';

3. i need to jail users to a home folder and give an admin user access to upload/download to that folder and have files accessible by the user. I see the linking option but in multiple files this may be a better option.

please advise,

thanks, dan

Hi daniellench,

Thank you for purchasing,

1. yeah, noticed that a while ago, it is fixed in updated version which is not available for download yet.

2. No, uploads is just a default directory for uploads, however if you need to create other folders to better categorize files – you can create folders which are on the same level as uploads folder.

3. This functionality was requested couple of times but we didn’t had a chance to incorporate it our script, however we did similar updates for several clients as “custom development”, if you’re interested you can contact us through den page and we’ll send you the quote for such adjustments.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.

is it possible to leave comments with each file ?

let say I log in as a User I can upload a file but I want to leave a Note with that file which I have uploaded is it Possible ?

and from the Admin each notes will be connected with that file

thanks Faz

Hi Fazzy,

Yes you can leave messages for each file. Please try live demo to see how it works (Both admin and user can leave messages)

in your instructions you refer to root. You do refer to localhost root yes? I’m not able to set uploads folder to a filespace outside of the install space

ie

$script_dir = '/filemanager/';
$upload_dir = '../../rhizome/';

html location is

http://mysereverspace.com/filemanager/index.php

management files should be

http://myserverspace.com/rhizome/

help? Cheers Oyster

ps love it except for this small difficulty

Hi oyster,

Thank you for purchasing.

When we say “root” – we mean root folder of your domain name, not your hosting root.

if you have installed script into yourdomain.com/rhizom then script dir will be /rhizome/ and upload dir /rhizome/uploads/

Hope that helps.

Hi mate, this is such a great script, congrats ! Would be possible, instead of creating or pointing internal directories for each new Login, to point to an already existing external directory like E:\FTP\Folder ? Or, maybe, automatically create a folder with the same name as user and use acctual ‘Directory’ more as a category like Clients, Workmates, etc ? I know it wouldnt be free but as a personal project the budget isnt that big too. Best regards.

Hi blakito,

Thank you for your interest in advanced file management.

Please send me personal message through den page and I will be glad to provide you a quote according to your specification.

hi, im using the latest Firefox with no flash player installed (for test puposes.) When i click: “If you have disabled javascript or you are having troubles with this uploader you can upload files with old form here” and i get redirected to “upload_nojs_admin.php” the uploader on that page doesn’t work. Please help.

avn8

What exactly doesn’t work ? can you be more specific please ? do you see some sort of error, or page doesn’t load or something else ? You can send us an email through den page with description and links to your installation, we’ll be glad to help you out.

ok. thanks. I fixed it now. I have another issue: when I share links and the email is now being sent or received. I have red hat linux server with php5 running. is there something I need to enable in my php.ini configuration? what kind of email component are you using in your script?

We use standard php mail function ( http://php.net/manual/en/function.mail.php ), all the settings are default php mail server settings. Never had an issue with this, so you might wanna ask server administrator or service provider to help you out.

I did a fresh install of this on a wamp setup and I am getting this error on the login page:

Notice: Undefined index: logged_in in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\index.php on line 59

Once logged in, clicking on the User Management link gives this error: Notice: Undefined variable: extensions in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\users.php on line 206

Also oon the Extensions link, give the following error: Notice: Undefined variable: users_table in C:\wamp\www\filemanager\extensions.php on line 141

Hi axisconcepts,

thank you for purchasing our script.

These notices will be fixed in the update which will be available in a week or so. They do not impact any functionality of the script. In the meantime you can add on the very first line of index.php, users.php and extensions.php following: error_reporting(0); This will hide those notices. If you will need assistance you can always email us through den page.

Hi, I like your script and have an immediate need for a client where an .net script is not working. However, I need the ability for someone to upload a file anonymously. IN other words a page where any user could go to upload a file without logging in. Could you customize this to make this happen?

Sure it can be customized.

Send me an email through den page and I will be glad to provide you a quote for such modification.

Is it permits to change the design?

Definitely – you can change design as much as you need. You’re just not allowed to resell this script in any form or modification :)

Hi Convergine,

First of all it’s a great job. I was wondering how I can alter the maximum file limit. If it’s the php.ini file you would mention, is there any other way to upload large files with your script? My files are most likely >400MB

Thanks in advance.

Hi burbing,

Thank you for purchasing my script.

To increase file upload limits it’s either php.ini or if you don’t have access to it – .htaccess in the root. These are the only 2 methods which I know. If you will not change your server file limits – you will not be able to upload large files …

Really great coding. Is it possible to require a specific file NAME as well as EXTENSION ?

I’m not sure I understood what you’re trying to achieve, can you be more specific ?

Sorry for the confusion. For example, if I wanted to limit the files that can be uploaded to a specific filename and extension, such as “samsonite.jpg”, is this possible? How? Thanks so much.

It can be achieved with script customization. It is not something I can explain in 2 words, but basically you would need to create array of names which you want to allow to upload on the upload page, and then in the code which processes uploads do a check of uploaded file name against your array.

Thanks for prompt reply. It seems you convienced me to buy it!

Thanks
