That is possible, but not scheduled by default. You could simply install it several times or install it once and create a database table for each chat. Then modify the PHP for changing the use of each table for each chat and it should work.

Hello, for chat history which doesn’t say longer than 30 minutes, simply create a cronjob which deletes the messages in the database which are older then 30 minutes. Allowing just 2 users to chat isn’t included in the script, this needs extra modification.

ok I bought it and installed it but had to delete – CREATE DATABASE `shoutbox`in the sql file because if I create a data base with a password like I’ve done 1000 times, it did not work because it would try to create a data base that I just created …. anyway now when I test the script all I see now is the word “Loading” so it looks like it’s still not connecting to the database – AND for those that copy pasted your iframe code in your doc into their page needs to add http:// before the domain.com …
so I just need to know how to get it to function it like I said above it just says “Loading”
ok I fixed the “Loading” thing by editing line 11 in – shoutbox.class.php to the name of the folder I created instead of the default folder “shoutbox”
OK I tweaked the the Shoutbox to look like my site – but I was wondering if it’s possible to keep the shoutbox active if I go to another page? ... I have the <iframe> in the header and the shoutbox follows the visitor but the visitor has to login again each time they go to a different page – cheers
It’s not intended to show the shoutbox on every page, so if you want to make a permanent login state, you have to modify it, but that’s quite easy.

also I was wondering if it’s possible to remove the – Bot: Nickname enters the shoutbox… so we don’t see an introduction of someone entering the shoutbox each time?
Just use PHP $_SESSION and save the name and prepopulate the name input with it and if there’s an prepopulated value, auto submit the form.
To remove the Bot entering message, edit the shoutbox class.
Change lines 191-192 to: $mysql_string .= '.append("")';
ok cool I added the $mysql_string like you said … works perfect… but not too sure about how or where to use $_SESSION
Just output the (escaped) $_SESSION value, e.g. the name of the visitor to the input field for the name in index.php.

You could code a cookie remembering system, yes. Or temporary save it via PHP’s $_SESSION.

Thanks for the purchase. You could pass the login name as $_GET parameter and change the index.php that the $_GET changes the predefined username. Then (via JS) let the system automatically click on the submit button.

I’m having the same issue with the chmod 777 on hostgator. Although I am able to change the perms on the server it still gives me… Internal Server Error

If the perms are set for 755 it opens fine, I can see the install window, but it tells me to change it to 666 or 777 and thats when it fails. Unfortunately I can’t use it. Is it possible to get a refund?

Great shoutbox- Had major difficulties installing it onto my site, not to the fault of this product’s creator, yet when I contacted him for support he was more than happy to assist me and ended up completely fixing the problems I had.
Well I managed to get it working, by creating all folders (and most of the files by hand).

The box has 14 lines and then the scroll appears, I would like it to have more.
Okay, just edit the “media/css/main.css”: Change the height of #shoutbox_box like you need it (and you may need to adjust the “media/js/shoutbox.js” the lines 55 and 74 at the end of the line the integer 21 like it fits best).

Yes, it’s possible but you need to give them different table prefixes.
