Hello just bought the file but it looks kind of broken when viewed at different width. I’ve loaded up multiple demos from the 3 folder and all of the seem to suffer the same problem with larger menus being shown off screen, please see these screenshots demonstrating the problem:
http://imgur.com/a/xt9HiIs this something you can fix?
They’re not broken, they’re just too wide for your monitor resolution. If you notice they’re 5 columns etc…in width.
You can use narrower column, i.e 3 or 4 column width, if you like. Of course, a certain level of customization will be involved in placement of menus to be of optimum use.
It’s the reason why I included multiple columns, so you can pick and choose as per your usage.
Ok but i thought the concept of “too wide for monitor resolution” was kinda the problem responsive design was supposed to solve?
That’s why there are multiple column options available to you.
You can have the 5/6 column layout be the left most menu item, then it won’t go out of the screen.
I’ll probably just use id’s to offset the menus that go offscreen. thanks for the quick replies.
Hover + open doesn’t work in bootstrap 3?
Hi, officially hover + open is not supported in Bootstrap 3.
There was a comment placed by user “thedreaminme” above where they found a way, perhaps you can use that method.
Your script is good. But someone will got trouble if they use bootstrap template in their site. Do you have plan to remove bootstrap files and make it just CSS3, like this magento menu extension http://bit.ly/1b99AD1 ? Thanks.
Sure, I’ll see if there’s enough demand for such a file and work on it.
I don’t see how the ‘trouble’ part here though? If you are already using a bootstrap template you need not include the bootstrap CSS/JS files. Just the Mega Menu CSS file and the HTML structure is enough to get you going.
Thanks for your feedback.
Can’t get this to work. I’ve included the necessary CSS files and the bootstrap.js, but when I minimise the screen the toggle button doesn’t work. On full screen it’s fine. Any ideas?
Do you have a live URL I can see it on to check?
Hi.
Love this menu btw
The new update ( & Bootstrap 3 ) doesn’t provide the hover + open option.
Ideally I would like an hover / open for desktop and no hover for mobile / pads devices. The previous versions was not giving this option. Is there anything I can do for this ? And can I safely use the previous hover + open file ?
Thank you very much, Cheers, Rose
Unfortunately v3.0 of Bootstrap has been giving me some issues with hover + open, which is why I did not include it for that version.
I will try to see if there’s a way to include it using some “hacks”.
The hover + open file for 2.3.2 won’t work with 3.0 as it’s a completely different CSS structure.
Thank you for coming back so fast ! In the meantime I’ve search about this and saw that B3 doesn’t provide the hover as it used to do in prev. version.
I’ve found this today : cameronspear.com/demos/twitter-bootstrap-hover-dropdown/ that adds a small JS and a class to class=”dropdown-toggle”. Works fine till now, but I’m not finished yet.
I am curious to know what you think about it
Thanks again for your prompt reply,
Cheers, Rose
I’ll look into it.
hello, i want to ask something, I want to buy this but is this plugin can be customized according to my theme which is ” business finder ” http://goo.gl/n4cJnk
I want the in built menu to stay at its place and want this mega menu plugin to be put under it with same style, colors and effects like the main menu.
The theme you mentioned is a WordPress theme, the menu only works with HTML themes and not WordPress themes.
nice and clean Menu, thank you! When do you plan to upgrade to Bootstrap 3?
It’s almost ready
a few days more hopefully.
>It’s almost ready … Great! thanks a lot!
This is a great menu design but I have two issues with the menu for the site I want to use it on. 1. I need to position the menu under other divs (ie not at the top of the page) and 2. I need it to be on a white background with grey link colours. Are these points possible? Thanks for your help.
Hi,
I notice that when I view the navigation in a mobile the padding between the links vary depending if they have a menu or not.
Is there a way to make the verticla padding/margin equal between all the links?
I’ll test it out and see what I can do.
I would like the 1st level (parent menu item) link to be an actual link—when clicked, it will go to the page it links to. Currently (whether auto-dropdown is turned on or off), the parent menu item doesn’t go anywhere.
What do I need to do?
Adding “disabled” as a class, alongside dropdown-toggle, for the parent link makes the link clickable, but it becomes a problem when the nav collapses (since trying to open the section goes to a new page instead.)
Nevermind. I used jQuery removeClass to tell it to remove the “disabled” class when the screen res is < 979.
I would like to see the menu items collapsed instead of expanded. Is there an easy way to implement this? Thank you.
The default state is closed actually. It is available as part of the download package you get when you purchase the file.
Just purchased… Question on the hover version. The minimized menu still shows the items as expanded. How do we make the minimized version items collapsed by default?
Load mega-menu.css instead of mega-menu-hover.css
Looks like you may have answered this above. Is it possible to make this menu full-width? (100%) Not boxed?
The drop down cannot be full width, but the top level menu can.
how would you go about making the menu 100% width? Will it work like that? (I’m assuming the drop downs have to be updated to work with 100%?)
It’s a bit more complex than that, I’d have to rewrite the whole thing basically.
Hi, one question, is it possible for the drop down window of the menu to be auto resize according to the window contend , instead of using one-column, two-column etc… ?
No, sorry it’s not.
I’ll see what I can do about it for the next update.
I need to implement a small navigation where there will be first two category, each having 2 level deep menus of 3 items each. These items will be images only with some specific dimensions. In the end there will be 6 clickable links, 3 in each category. I was hoping i could implement this with your plugin. Hovering the menu will display a row of images and each image will have it’s 3 links listed just next to it. Would that be possible ?? I am targeting the 3 column menu in your demo. Right below each image i would like to display 3 links.
Sure you can do that with this menu. Wanted to point out that since it’s a “mega menu”, there is only 1 level, i.e there are no further dropdowns for a link. Just as you see it in the demo.
Hello, i’ve a problem with the menu in “responsive” mode in this site: http://www.betwebstar.com
After i log in, is not possibile to click on the links in the dropdown menu.
Please contact me, so i give you temporary user & password to test it.
I try with several mobile device.
I’ll have to test and get back to you.
I’ve tested it on Android and the menu seems to be working.
i tell you the problem is AFTER the login… if you contact me in private, i send you termporary date to test it.
Can you post a screenshot here of what you mean.
I can’t post a screenshot about a broken click
It’s simple, after login i see the dropdown menu, if i click on the links in the megamenu, i obtain only the menu closure… or nothing
It seems he goes on a lower level (just for link).
You can email me via my profile page with your login details.
Hello i’m waiting for a solution…
Sorry, I don’t know why that is happening in the mobile version. I’ve not had anyone else come with a complaint. Can you try and re-build your menu, the logged in part, and see if you get the same error.
Can I possibly integrate this with a wordpress custom framework theme? Such as Headway or Woo Canvas?
For personal use only, sure (as per the license).
We’re a little while away from releasing the official WordPress version of this ourselves.
So far working fine! THANKS!
Some menu list I want to make align right (“pull-right”). How can I do that? Could you guide me please.
You can add the CSS class like this to the main surrounding ul>
ul class=”dropdown-menu pull-right”
i just purchase the script. I like the except one you have for preview. With round edges. I can’t seem to find the round edges version on your download files.
Open the styles.htm file and you will find an example with the round edges in it. Use the CSS class on the main surrounding “ul” in order to see them:
ul class=”dropdown-menu style-bottom-round”
Great work! I am considering purchasing ASAP. Can the drop down menu and submenu work like the navigation on www.Mashable.com ? I have been playing around with a bootstrap script I found and have only been able to come up with this http://www.marware.com/nv.html. Will the dropdown work similarly as the marware.com nav menu on Mobile?
Thanks in advance!
A menu like Mashable will require much more customization.
You can check out the video on our live preview for a preview of how it works, for the most part it should fit your needs. Anything further will require customization.
Hi, i need this menu to be a “drop-up” rather than drop down? Is it possible? I believe it can be achieved by giving the css “bottom:100%” to ul or li items in hover?
Pls reply
You can just add the CSS class “dropup” to the main “li” of the drop down.
really? Just like that?
Well, yes. But if you want the menu to be visible it will have to be further down the page, or fixed to the bottom. To fix it to the bottom you can change navbar-fixed-top to navbar-fixed-bottom in the HTML.
I cant really seem to change the menu to show sub menus on HOVER instead of CLICK. Right now sub menu drops out only when clicked. There is no info in the documentation to change this. Pls reply. Thanks
Ok,i figured this out. You had that in the hover+open.html file.
Another problem. Pls take a look at http://tinyurl.com/ctf6782 , scroll to bottom, and u will see the mega menu. Even after i declare all “li” classes as “dropup”, its not displaying the sub menus at all.
Possible z-index or overflow issue?
Change this:
li class="dropdown mega-menu-6 transition"
to this:
li class="dropdown mega-menu-6 transition dropup"
Do the same thing for the rest of the main “li” and you’ll see the menu “dropup”.
