Hi, does the plugin also remove Product-Tag or only Product-Category ? Thanks

Only product category at the moment. We’re trying to add removing of product base, product tag base and the show base for the next update.

Hi Code-Ninjas,

Why does the filter navigation break when you click here? Link: http://demo.codeninjas.co/woocommerce-seo/shop/nintendo-ds/

The page template reverts to the ‘index.php’ template and the sidebar filters are removed.

Ideally, staying true to the original widget structure it wouldn’t require a category to be chosen first. Instead, it would filter strictly on attribute while keeping the base of the page intact. Is this possible?

Maybe a matter of creating a custom template? If not, then the navigation breaks if a user decides to filter first instead of clicking on category. Which isn’t good.

Thoughts? Ben

Good Deal! Thank you for the quick response. I look forward to your update. Bugs occur from time to time. Overall, I like the plugin and definitely see it’s value. Good work….

Hi Code Ninjas, any updates on the progress of the bug fix?

Still working on it. We just need to rewrites parts to the code to make the plugin a little more efficient.

I have a problem, I’m usin too Wordpress SEO Yoast and I disable meta options of Wocommerce SEO and I get this in code font:

<!- Woocommerce SEO Plugin -> <meta name=”description” content=”” /> <!- Woocommerce SEO Plugin ->

¿How Can I solve this?

Hi,

Please can you email us (support@codeninjas.co) an we’ll try and help you solve this.

Thanks

is there anything about rich snippets in this plugin?

Unfortunately no, i did try but it’s was difficult do add specific rich snippets for products and reviews because there wasn’t the proper place to hook into in Woocommerce. Having said that if you did want rich snippet it isn’t too difficult to add the mark up directly into your product page template.

Hi there,

Now the latest Woocommerce version is 2.0 Do you think your plugin will work with the latest one?

Best, Y

ok, please let me know when it is ready. By that, there is no reason not to buy this plugin from you. ;)

Will do! Thanks!

Hi Yota,

Just wasted to let you now that the current version of Wooommerce SEO id now compatible with Woocommerce 2.0

Hello

I have to question.

1. If I have free Wordpress SEO plugin The options: Global Category Meta Settings and Global Product Meta Settings have to be disabled?

2. In the products the url is this:

http://verdadera-seduccion.com/tienda/producto/audios/como-recuperar-a-tu-ex/

I want to be this:

http://verdadera-seduccion.com/tienda/audios/como-recuperar-a-tu-ex/

Whithout name: “producto” (product in english).

¿Can I do this wit your plugin?

If your plugin not do this it’s important for the next revisions. I’m using custom permalinkg for to thes functions, but I want this in your plugin.

Thanks for all.

Hi,

1. if you are using a SEO pugin for Wordpress, you will need to disable handling of the product category taxonomy and the product post type in the Wordpress plugin if you want to use the features of the Woocommerce SEO plugin.

2. The plugin doesn’t currently do this but were working on a way to add it to the next update.

Right now my url is domain.com/shop/product-name/

I want to get it to just domain.com/product-name/

Is that possible with this? I’m only really interested in doing this because I’m switching to woocommerce for e-shop which had this structure and I don’t want to change the url’s or do a rewrite if possible.. please let me know as soon as possible.. thanks.

Unfortunately the plugin doesn’t do this at this time. Its been requested a few times so I’ll try and incorporate it in the next update.

do you have this to just remove the the base url i have other plugins that handle the seo

You could turn off all other features and only use the plugin to remove the product category base. I don’t have a plugin that does that alone though. I’m curious, do the other plugins you have rewrite the urls too when using layered navigation?

having the category is good for SEO though surely?

For example on my woocommerce site i have achieved the following url structure:

www.domain.com/product/category/productname/ i.e www.domain.com/product/books/mybook/

?

good luck with sales though :)

Correct. Hence why I asked fruitful code what they meant by /category. Whether its the actual word or removing the category itself (which is an option in Woocommerce core).

Hello

With your plugin is possible to remove /shop /product /category from url?

The plugin doesn’t remove /shop or /product. I’m not too sure what you mean by /category. By default Woocommerce adds /product-category. This you can remove with my plugin. Of you mean /category added by Wordpress then my plugin doesn’t remove it.

Thanks! I am going to purchase.

I use the Ajax-Enabled, Enhanced Layered Navigation Widget instead of the regular Layered Navigation Widget. I imagine may others are as well. I will not give up it’s use easily.

Found here: http://www.woothemes.com/products/ajax-layered-navigation/

I imagine I’d have to discontinue use of this plugin as well so that the “Global Category Meta Settings” to work correctly as well judging by the item screenshot you’ve provided of the item’s admin settings?

If so, that’s rather unfortunate since I rather like the concept of this item. As you are code-ninjas, I imagine you’ll find a way to make it compatible, right? ;-)

Hi WPWiseOwl,

Using Ajax makes certain parts of SEO a little difficult. Using the ajax layered navigation widget, you dont necessarily have different category pages since the products are all loaded on the same page on the fly (i.e. the URL stays the same), so its pretty difficult to 1) change the URL since that would just be a new page and 2) changing the page title/meta description of the page would could potentially makes that one URL have many different page titles and meta descriptions.

I hope that makes sense :)

So unfortunately, if you want your category pages with your filters to be indexed and ranking, you will have to give up using the ajax layered navigation widget.

Hope that helps.
