Can I use both features of the marketplace, including classified ads, at the same time? Or should it be used separately?
Hello,
Yes, you can use both the marketplace and classified ads features at the same time. You can find the related settings in the ’’Preferences > System’’ section of the admin panel. When both options are enabled, vendors on your site can list a product for sale or post it as a classified ad.
Here are two example listings from our demo site: https://modesy.codingest.com/womens-ankle-boot-with-different-colors-46?sku=W1A2B3D4C5R6-36 https://modesy.codingest.com/women-casual-dress-21Thank you.
Thanks. Can I know any update coming soon and which feature add this update?
We recently updated the script. The major update (v2.6) was released on September 7, and since then, we have published two additional minor updates to address confirmed issues. You can view the update logs in the ’’Item Details / Project Updates’’ section.
Now that this update is complete, we will focus on updating our other scripts before starting work on the next Modesy update. In that update, we plan to introduce a classified ads theme, along with additional features and improvements. Currently, there is no estimated timeline for its release.
Thank you.
I don’t understand why the cart button isn’t showing up on my website? And I see that things are missing, unlike the demo, including the quantity change on the cart page.
Hello,
There are many settings available in the ’’Preferences’’ section of the admin panel. If you disable the marketplace-related settings, the Cart will be hidden.
Regarding the ‘quantity change on the cart page’, the button to increase product quantity is not available for digital products. You will not see this button for digital items.
There are no differences between our demo site and the script you downloaded. Any differences would only result from enabling or disabling specific settings.
Please note that since you currently have an active support plan, you can contact us through our Help Center for assistance. We primarily provide support through the Help Center, where you can also attach screenshots to better explain your questions: https://codingest.com/

Marketplace (Selling Products on the Site) – This feature is enabled, the Add to Cart button is not visible on the product card itself on the main page, it is visible on the product page.
So, you were asking about the ’’Add to Cart’’ button on the product cards on the homepage. We initially assumed you were referring to the ’’Cart’’ icon in the top section of your site, so we responded based on that.
However, the ’’Add to Cart’’ button on the product cards should also be visible alongside the ’’Wishlist’’ button. When you hover over a product image, both buttons should appear. If a product has variants, a ’’View Options’’ button will be shown instead, which redirects users to the product details page.
Please contact us through our Help Center so we can check your site directly. If you haven’t generated your license key yet, you can do so in the ’’Licenses’’ section of our Help Center: https://codingest.com/

Most Important Feature Needed for Repeat Customers is Not Added Yet. . . Feature- “REWARD POINTS” ie. Earn for each purchase and Redeem points for each purchase. . . Kindly Plan to add it in Next Update. . . (If other script buyers also feels same then they also can request same feature to author.) . . Thanks
Two More Features are much awaited for Repeat Customers. 1) Push notifications 2) Abandoned cart recovery mail and push notifications.
Hello,
We don’t have any plans to add such a reward point system at the moment. We’re not sure if we’ll include it in the future. However, the other features will most likely be added over time.
Thanks.
I thinks this script add drop shipping system is better for authors and purchasers
Hello,
Currently, we’re not sure if a dropshipping feature will be added in the future. Our current plan is to focus on adding a classified ads theme in the next update. After releasing the new theme, we’ll decide on the next steps based on the most requested and needed features. So, while we’re not ruling out this feature, we also can’t make any promises at this stage.
Regards,
as your wish your business you know i just share my opinion add dropship system then you have to possible more selling because amazon, shopify, temu, aliexpress, alibaba, all is offer dropship affiliate marketing ,, ok thanks
Thank you for your suggestion. Feedback and suggestions from our users are valuable to us, and we take them seriously. However, the drop shipping feature is not currently in our plans. In the next update, we plan to focus on introducing a classified ads theme.
Please follow our updates for more features and improvements.
Thanks.
Hi. I tried updating the script from version 2.4.2 to version 2.6.2. The update was successful, but the product options (size, color, etc.) disappeared. All product cards are now without product options.
Hi,
The old product options system has been removed and replaced with a completely new structure. Since the new system dynamically generates variations based on the options you add, and the database structure has been entirely redesigned, unfortunately, your previously added product options cannot be transferred to the new version. These options will need to be re-added manually after the update.
We have also highlighted this information in our update guide, so everyone can review it before updating their sites.

Hello Modesy Development Team,
I would like to ask a few questions before purchase. We are considering buying your script to run a hyper local marketplace for approximately 150K to 200K vendors. These questions are asked in the order of relevance/importance we will use to make a purchase decision.
1. with the following dedicated server specs, how many shops can we run on Modesy 6? - 128GB RAM - 16-Core Dual E5-2660 @2.20 GHz - 120GB SSD + 960GB SSD - 100Mbps Bandwidth
2. Branding: Is it possible to brand the script for our organization? I mean, changing logos, etc? or will we have to retain some Modesy branding?
3. Paystack Payments: Suppose a vendor X, registers a shop called XYZ shop, and a client, John visits the shop and buys something… - can the vendor use the inbuilt Paystack gateway to receive payments from customers directly without payment having to go through the Modesy platform owner, and the platform owner reconciling payments for the Vendor? - will Shop XYZ be able to configure their own Paystack credentials on the Modesy platform on registration or on setting up their shop? - Basically, how do Paystack payments work on Modesy?
4. We have our own simple Laravel Goup Chat system. Can we use it (integrate it) to facilitate Client-Vendor communications/chats instead of the inbuilt Modesy chat?
I would really kindly like you to clarify these 4 items. Thanks and we look forward to purchasing this excellent software.
Hello,
Thanks for your interest in our script!
1. We tested our script with a very large database before releasing version 2.6 (including 2M products, 600K categories, 500K registered users, and 3–4M comments and reviews, and many more records in other tables).
Having 150–200K or even more registered users and sellers in your database is not a limitation. What really matters is the number of concurrent (simultaneous) users, as this is where the server’s power becomes important.
Your server specifications are extremely high. Our script usually runs smoothly even on shared hosting environments with only 1 GB RAM and 1–2 CPU cores. We have not received any performance-related complaints regarding user volume or concurrent traffic so far. Therefore, your current server can easily handle a large marketplace with thousands of sellers.
Additionally, our script includes an advanced database caching system. When this feature is enabled, sections such as settings, translations, categories, and pages (which rarely change) are fetched from the database only when updated. All other requests are served directly from cache files, putting almost no load on the system and improving performance by 2–3×.
If you also enable the product caching feature, the system will execute only 3–5 database queries per page load, which drastically reduces server load. While it’s difficult to give an exact number, with this setup you should be able to handle thousands of concurrent users without any issues.
2. Everything in the script, including the logo and application name, can be changed directly from the Admin Panel. After installing the script, you can easily update all these settings. There are no restrictions or obstacles in doing so.
3. There is no automatic payout system. All customer payments are first collected into the site’s account and then transferred to sellers manually. Allowing direct payments to sellers would be risky for your platform. It could make your site a target for fraud, and because the transactions occur through your site you could be legally liable in case of fraudulent activity. For this reason, major marketplaces usually transfer payments to sellers only after the transactions have been verified.
4. Yes, you are free to make any modifications you wish. Our code is fully open-source, and we allow our customers to customize it. However, please note that we will continue releasing updates. If you make changes and later update your site to a new version, your custom modifications may be overwritten. You might consider installing your chat system on a subdomain or in a separate folder and linking/redirecting to it, without modifying the original code.
Thank you.
Hello’ could you guys add campaign like clearance sale or deals for product promotion at certain time and day to get more sales and at the same time attract more customers for more offers they should have a page dedicated so when customers click on the ad it will take them to see the interesting deals
Hello,
We are considering adding a time-limited offers feature in a future update. However, it may not be included in the next update, as we plan to focus on adding a classified ads theme. This feature may be added in a later update. Please follow our updates for more features.
Thank you.
Please create an option so that the admin can set the display order for featured ads and special offers—i.e., with a random option, so that multiple featured ads can be displayed randomly and not just in chronological order.
I think this would be a useful option, especially when there are a large number of featured ads, as it allows for rotation between them.
Thank you.
Hello,
We’ve noted your suggestion. We might add this option in the future, but for now, we can’t make any promises or provide an estimated timeline. Please follow our updates for more features.

I have a big problem on the mobile version. The root category does not behave like a link. Users can only use subcategories within the main category. For example, the Electric Guitars category has subcategories that can be reached, but the parent category acts as a link.
How is this resolved?
Hello,
In the mobile version, there is a ’’View All’’ link at the bottom of each main category. When you click it, the main category page opens. You can see the section we’re referring to in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/4X-6vt9Zehtb
Hi,
1. I bought and installed your Modesy script, and it works really well. Thanks for that.
2. However, I found the affiliate system not very practical. The main issue is:
> After a product is returned, even when the sale becomes invalid, the affiliate amount still shows in the affiliate’s wallet.
> This can be easily misused: users can place an order, return it, and still earn the affiliate commission.
3. Without proper logic, the affiliate module is basically just a “showcase feature” and not functional.
4. Suggestions to fix this:
> Implement logic so that affiliate commissions automatically adjust if the sale becomes invalid, OR
> Add a manual approval option:
>> After the order is complete, the admin can wait 7 days and then manually approve.
>> The admin panel should show how old each affiliate commission is after the order completes (e.g., 2 days, 3 days, 7 days).
>> Only commissions older than 7 days can be approved by admin.
5. Without this logic, the affiliate module doesn’t serve any real purpose.
6. Please treat this as a bug and fix it. Don’t just say “this is how it works,” because in its current state, it’s practically useless.
Hi,
Thanks for choosing our product!
Yes, we also looked for some solutions to resolve this issue. We decided to add a time limit for refunds in the next update. This period can be set by the Admin (30 days, 14 days, etc.). The refund option will be active during this period, and if an affiliate commission is earned, it will be held as pending instead of being added directly to the balance. If a refund occurs, this commission will also be canceled. If no refund occurs during this period, the commission will automatically be added to the user’s balance. We believe this solution will resolve all potential misuse.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Hello, have you released the classifieds theme?
Hello,
The latest update, released on October 22, was a minor update that addressed confirmed bugs and issues. Therefore, no new features were added in this version. We plan to include a classified ads theme in the next major update; however, there is currently no estimated release date for that update. You can find the update logs in the ’’Item Details > Project Updates’’ section.

trying to update: Table ‘category_lang’ already exists
Hello,
When updating your site, please make sure to follow all the instructions in the update guide corresponding to your site’s version. Each version of the script has its own update instructions.
If your site is running version 2.6 or 2.6.1, you do not need to update the database, as there are no database changes between these versions. You only need to update the database if you are upgrading from version 2.5.x or earlier. If you follow the steps in our update guide, you should not encounter any issues during the update process.
Please note that since you encountered an error while attempting to update your database, you need to fully restore your database from your backup before trying to update your site again.

Hello Codingest Support Team,
I am the administrator of vitrinfly.com. We are using the Modesy script, and during testing, I noticed an issue related to location selection. I also tested this on the official Modesy demo and observed the same behavior.
Here is the situation: When no location is selected on the homepage, products display correctly without any issues. Customers from Turkey can view and purchase products without any problem. However, when a user selects a location—for example, the United States or another country—the products on the site disappear. Both products and models become invisible.
I would like to clarify the following:
What is the exact purpose of the location selection feature in the system? Does the system automatically assign a location for users visiting the site, or do users select it manually? If the system automatically sets the location to the United States or another country, is it normal that products do not appear? When location selection is disabled, is it expected that all products display normally?
My observation is as follows: When no location is selected, products are fully visible, and purchases can be made without issues. However, once a location is selected, products disappear. I would like to understand whether this behavior is a standard setting of the system or an error.
I would appreciate your guidance on this matter. Thank you very much, and best regards.
Thank you in advance for your support and assistance
Sincerely, vitrinfly.com
Hello,
This is not a bug. This feature is designed to filter products by location.
If you would like to receive support for the script’s features, please renew your support plan and contact us through our Help Center.
Regards,
Hello Codingest Support Team,
Thank you for your explanation. Just to clarify — since the system filters products based on location, do we need to assign products or sellers to specific countries manually for them to appear when a location is selected?
I am not requesting any customization or additional development. I simply want to understand how the system is designed to function. If products are not showing up in certain countries, is this caused by a system setting, or do products need to be manually assigned to specific countries? Since this behavior is directly related to how products are displayed, I just want to get clear information about it.
My goal is to ensure that products are visible to users outside of Turkey as well. If there is any admin panel setting or system configuration related to this feature, I would like to know about it.
I believe this is basic product-related information, not a customization request, so it should be reasonable to clarify it without a paid support renewal.
Kind regards, vitrinfly.com
There’s no need anymore. I did it.
Hello,
You wrote that there’s no need for a response anymore, but we would still like to clarify a few points.
We see that you have misunderstood the location filter. Your products are already visible from all countries. This filter is used to display products based on the location where they were added. If products are being added to your site from many different locations, a user can use this filter to select their own location and view only the products available in that area. If you are adding your products from a single location only (i.e., you do not have sellers adding products from different locations), you should disable this option from the Admin panel because all your products come from one location, and a filter is not necessary.
What you said about product support is not correct. Product support does not cover any custom modifications. Product support specifically deals with questions and issues related to these kinds of features and bugs. If you have a question that is not about the license, you will need to renew your support for that. We have already explained this to you. You can read the product support policy details here: https://codecanyon.net/page/item_support_policy

Thanks
Pre-Purchase Question: Your script allows adding products, but I’d like to confirm — can I attach affiliate link to the “Buy Now” button, so that when a user clicks it, they’re redirected to the affiliate website instead of making a direct purchase?
Hello,
Yes, you can add external links to your products instead selling directly on your website. Please check this example: https://modesy.codingest.com/mens-lace-formal-casual-fashion-shoe-34
Thanks.
Hello and best regards,
Thanks for the great update. You did a great job! I admit that I’m also interested in the option of dividing users into Commercial and Private. I’m from the EU, and such regulations are important here. I considered making changes to the code, but this will impact future updates. I know you’ll be working on classified ads now, and it would be great to consider this option. As a suggestion, I was thinking of leaving the Dashboard for Commercial users, and for example, in the User Profile, changing Settings to Account and adding a simple form for adding offers without the option of pasting HTML code. 2. Suggest adding “consents” to the Profile Editing tab – acceptance of the Regulations – will make adding products easier without having to accept them each time. For the admin, this option should be disabled. 3. Suggest “Edit all products by the admin” /admin/edit-product” or a simple form like “admin/edit-user.” It would be great if you could consider these options.
But the most important thing for me right now would be the option to divide users into Commercial and Private.
Best regards.
Hello,
Thanks!
If there are specific legal requirements in your country, you can make your website compliant accordingly. For example, you may categorize registered sellers as either individual or business sellers. You can also request the necessary verification documents during registration, or simply disable this option and treat all sellers as private, which is what many large platforms usually do.
We plan to address this topic in more detail and add an official option for it in our next major update, so there is no need to modify the code manually. For now, to stay compliant with your local regulations, you can choose one of these approaches and clearly mention it in your website’s terms or policy section.
Best regards
In the European Union (EU) an online shopping platform like Modesy must be able to CLEARLY distinguish between private and commercial sellers.
This is because commercial sellers are legally obligated to provide their information (legal notice) and comply with other consumer protection rights, such as the right of withdrawal, while different rules apply to private sellers.
The platform must ensure that commercial sellers fulfill their obligations to ensure compliance with EU law.
How does Modesy support the platform operator, buyers and sellers in CLEARLY distinguishing between private and commercial sellers, e.g. on the Products page, on the Product Details page and on the Seller’s Profile page?
Hello,
In our script, users are not presented with a separate option during registration. Both sellers and regular users register through the same sign-up form. However, this registration only creates a regular user account.
If a user wants to become a seller, they must submit a seller application. When a regular user clicks the “Sell Now” button, a seller application form appears. This form asks for the seller’s business information, and there is also a file upload section for submitting ID or other required documents. The site owner can configure this field and decide which documents are required from the Admin panel.
Once the seller application is submitted, the site owner can view these requests in the “Membership / Shop Opening Requests” section of the Admin Panel. If the submitted information is complete, the site owner can approve the request. Otherwise, they can reject it and ask the user to correct the missing details, or even permanently deny the request to prevent the user from submitting it again.
After the request is approved, the user becomes a seller and can start selling products on the site. All approved sellers have a verification badge on their profile.
In other words, sellers and regular users are distinct types of accounts.
Alternatively, if you want every registered user to automatically become a seller, you can disable the seller verification system from the Admin Panel.
This flexibility makes our script adaptable to different business needs.
Thank you.
Thank you for your detailed answer, which, unfortunately, does NOT describe how and where Modesy CLEARLY DISTINGUISHES between PRIVATE and COMMERCIAL SELLERS but only between sellers and regular users!
Therefore, I unfortunately have to come to the conclusion that there is NO CLEARLY DISTINCTION between PRIVATE and COMMERCIAL SELLERS in Modesy, unless you can provide further indication of this.
So if you cannot provide any further information, then Modesy unfortunately CANNOT be used in the EU (with approximately 450 million citizens; the USA, on the other hand, has only about 345 million citizens), as this distinction is a legal requirement in the EU.
The current flexibility is therefore NOT sufficient and makes your script ONLY adaptable to different business needs OUTSIDE the EU!
You also wrote:
“Once the seller application is submitted, the site owner can view these requests in the “Membership / Shop Opening Requests” section of the Admin Panel. If the submitted information is complete, the site owner can approve the request. Otherwise, they can reject it and ask the user to correct the missing details, or even permanently deny the request to prevent the user from submitting it again.”
Questions about this statement, where and how can the site owner:
1 – approve the request; 2 – reject it and ask the user to correct the missing details; 3 – permanently deny the request.
Thank you again for your reply.
Finally, a small suggestion from me regarding verification badge:
It is true that all approved sellers have a verification badge on their profile.
BUT, in my opinion, for all approved sellers it would also make sense for this verification badge to be displayed on the Shops page as well, which is not currently the case.
Hello,
We now understand what you were asking. While your points are theoretically correct, stating that the system is “completely unusable” with big letters would not be accurate, nor is it something you can decide.
Currently, this option is not presented to users. However, this does not prevent you from setting up your site or complying with EU regulations. You can launch the site by including the relevant information in the user agreement or accepting only one seller type (for example, all sellers as Commercial).
Of course, allowing users to select this option and displaying it on the seller profile would improve transparency and user experience. We plan to consider this in a future major update.
You can see these options in the “Membership / Shop Opening Requests” section of the Admin panel.
Thanks.
Thank you for your answer and planning to consider distinguishing between private and commercial sellers in a future major update.
BUT unfortunately, digital platforms in the EU must not only be able to distinguish between private and commercial sellers, they must also implement Directive (EU) 2021/514 and comply with enhanced reporting and due diligence obligations as well as use automated procedures.
The Directive broadly applies to platform operators, regardless of their head office, and requires both digital platforms operating in the EU and foreign platform operators to comply with the Directive when they facilitate transactions with EU sellers or customers within EU Member States.
Violations of reporting obligations, such as late or incomplete reports, can result in significant fines.
In Austria, for example, the Rechtsvorschrift für Digitale Plattformen-Meldepflichtgesetz applies.
In simple terms, platform operators must fulfil the following obligations:
REPORTING OBLIGATION
Platform operators are required to report tax-relevant data of their private and commercial sellers to the tax office annually, whereby the platform operators bear full responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the information!
This includes personal data such as name, address and tax number, but also transaction data such as the amount of income, number of transactions, total sales and amounts paid, as well as the type of services provided or goods sold.
DUTY OF CARE
Platform operators are responsible for checking the reported data for accuracy and completeness.
This includes measures such as identity verification of users, validation of the provided tax numbers and regular updating and maintenance of the data records.
AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION
Platform operators are required to use automated procedures using a standard electronic format (this one is the Austrian version) to ensure data exchange with the tax authorities.
So please I request confirmation that Modesy is able to meet these requirements (especially the AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION), otherwise Modesy unfortunately CANNOT be used to set up a website that complies with EU regulations and that is not something I decide, but something that is decided by an EU Directive.
Hello,
Yes, adding a seller type and asking the user to provide this information when they want to become a seller is indeed useful for general regulatory purposes. However, our script does not include an automated system that processes the database data, formats it according to the legal requirements of each country, and sends it to the relevant authorities.
Implementing such a feature would require a substantial budget, as it involves highly advanced integration and compliance work. Expecting this kind of functionality from a $69 script is unrealistic.
Our software includes all the essential e-commerce features needed to operate in any country. But if you are looking for a system with such advanced capabilities, CodeCanyon is not the right place to look. For that, you would need to work with a professional software company to develop a fully customized solution like Etsy, eBay etc..
Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to respond and for once again bringing more clarity to the functionality of Modesy.
I would like to explicitly mention that I have the utmost respect for all the essential e-commerce features that have already been implemented, which also boast an exceptionally beautiful design and offer an excellent user experience; I congratulate you on this.
And yes, you are absolutely right, that expecting this kind of functionality from a $69 script is unrealistic.
However, I also don’t want buyers of Modesy to expect this kind of functionality, because the lack of implementation of these obligations (especially those of the AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION), which are part of the EU Directive, unfortunately means that Modesy, at least in the EU, CANNOT be operated in accordance with the law, whereas the platforms you mentioned, such as Etsy, eBay, etc., have implemented these obligations and are therefore operating in accordance with the law!
I regret that I cannot give you a better conclusion regarding Modesy’s deployment in the EU.
By the way, my comments apply not only to Modesy, but to ALL scripts that have similar functionality as Modesy, so you are not alone with this problem (EU Directive)!
Hello,
Thank you!
If you want such advanced features as you mentioned, you would need to work with a software company. To have all these features, the software must be custom-built specifically for you and the region you want to use it in. Even just getting started with such a project would cost thousands of dollars. We hope you can find a software that meets your needs.
We may add individual and commercial options in the future. However, the other advanced features you requested are unlikely to be added.
Sir, is it possible that everyone is asking for login using their mobile number ???
Hello, this feature is not available in the current system. The login process can only be done using an email address. Thanks.
Hello! There is a problem using AI to generate text, the error: Unexpected response code: 429 Related to many requests on the server, CDN was additionally connected, but the error is the same.
Hello,
The API may reject your request if it exceeds the usage limits. This can happen if requests are sent too frequently, if the prompts are too large, or if your account does not have sufficient credits. When you click the “Generate Text” button, the system sends only one request to the API. There is no loop or similar process that would trigger multiple requests. Therefore, the issue is most likely related to your API account. Please check your account if you continue to encounter this error.
For more details, please refer to this article: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/5955604-how-can-i-solve-429-too-many-requests-errors

Thank you, now I understand!
You are welcome.
Suggestion
It would be great to add the option to create limited-time offers with automatic expiration times!
I see several people making this request, and it will be a huge differentiator for Modesy.
Hello,
This feature is on our update list and may be added in the future. However, we cannot promise when that will be. In the next major update, we are planning to add a classified ads theme. After that, we will continue adding new features in future updates. Please follow our updates for more features.
