Pre-Purchase Question: Your script allows adding products, but I’d like to confirm — can I attach affiliate link to the “Buy Now” button, so that when a user clicks it, they’re redirected to the affiliate website instead of making a direct purchase?
Hello,
Yes, you can add external links to your products instead selling directly on your website. Please check this example: https://modesy.codingest.com/mens-lace-formal-casual-fashion-shoe-34
Thanks.
Hello and best regards,
Thanks for the great update. You did a great job! I admit that I’m also interested in the option of dividing users into Commercial and Private. I’m from the EU, and such regulations are important here. I considered making changes to the code, but this will impact future updates. I know you’ll be working on classified ads now, and it would be great to consider this option. As a suggestion, I was thinking of leaving the Dashboard for Commercial users, and for example, in the User Profile, changing Settings to Account and adding a simple form for adding offers without the option of pasting HTML code. 2. Suggest adding “consents” to the Profile Editing tab – acceptance of the Regulations – will make adding products easier without having to accept them each time. For the admin, this option should be disabled. 3. Suggest “Edit all products by the admin” /admin/edit-product” or a simple form like “admin/edit-user.” It would be great if you could consider these options.
But the most important thing for me right now would be the option to divide users into Commercial and Private.
Best regards.
Hello,
Thanks!
If there are specific legal requirements in your country, you can make your website compliant accordingly. For example, you may categorize registered sellers as either individual or business sellers. You can also request the necessary verification documents during registration, or simply disable this option and treat all sellers as private, which is what many large platforms usually do.
We plan to address this topic in more detail and add an official option for it in our next major update, so there is no need to modify the code manually. For now, to stay compliant with your local regulations, you can choose one of these approaches and clearly mention it in your website’s terms or policy section.
Best regards
In the European Union (EU) an online shopping platform like Modesy must be able to CLEARLY distinguish between private and commercial sellers.
This is because commercial sellers are legally obligated to provide their information (legal notice) and comply with other consumer protection rights, such as the right of withdrawal, while different rules apply to private sellers.
The platform must ensure that commercial sellers fulfill their obligations to ensure compliance with EU law.
How does Modesy support the platform operator, buyers and sellers in CLEARLY distinguishing between private and commercial sellers, e.g. on the Products page, on the Product Details page and on the Seller’s Profile page?
Hello,
In our script, users are not presented with a separate option during registration. Both sellers and regular users register through the same sign-up form. However, this registration only creates a regular user account.
If a user wants to become a seller, they must submit a seller application. When a regular user clicks the “Sell Now” button, a seller application form appears. This form asks for the seller’s business information, and there is also a file upload section for submitting ID or other required documents. The site owner can configure this field and decide which documents are required from the Admin panel.
Once the seller application is submitted, the site owner can view these requests in the “Membership / Shop Opening Requests” section of the Admin Panel. If the submitted information is complete, the site owner can approve the request. Otherwise, they can reject it and ask the user to correct the missing details, or even permanently deny the request to prevent the user from submitting it again.
After the request is approved, the user becomes a seller and can start selling products on the site. All approved sellers have a verification badge on their profile.
In other words, sellers and regular users are distinct types of accounts.
Alternatively, if you want every registered user to automatically become a seller, you can disable the seller verification system from the Admin Panel.
This flexibility makes our script adaptable to different business needs.
Thank you.
Thank you for your detailed answer, which, unfortunately, does NOT describe how and where Modesy CLEARLY DISTINGUISHES between PRIVATE and COMMERCIAL SELLERS but only between sellers and regular users!
Therefore, I unfortunately have to come to the conclusion that there is NO CLEARLY DISTINCTION between PRIVATE and COMMERCIAL SELLERS in Modesy, unless you can provide further indication of this.
So if you cannot provide any further information, then Modesy unfortunately CANNOT be used in the EU (with approximately 450 million citizens; the USA, on the other hand, has only about 345 million citizens), as this distinction is a legal requirement in the EU.
The current flexibility is therefore NOT sufficient and makes your script ONLY adaptable to different business needs OUTSIDE the EU!

Questions about this statement, where and how can the site owner:
1 – approve the request; 2 – reject it and ask the user to correct the missing details; 3 – permanently deny the request.
Thank you again for your reply.
Finally, a small suggestion from me regarding verification badge:
It is true that all approved sellers have a verification badge on their profile.
BUT, in my opinion, for all approved sellers it would also make sense for this verification badge to be displayed on the Shops page as well, which is not currently the case.
Hello,
We now understand what you were asking. While your points are theoretically correct, stating that the system is “completely unusable” with big letters would not be accurate, nor is it something you can decide.
Currently, this option is not presented to users. However, this does not prevent you from setting up your site or complying with EU regulations. You can launch the site by including the relevant information in the user agreement or accepting only one seller type (for example, all sellers as Commercial).
Of course, allowing users to select this option and displaying it on the seller profile would improve transparency and user experience. We plan to consider this in a future major update.
You can see these options in the “Membership / Shop Opening Requests” section of the Admin panel.
Thanks.
Thank you for your answer and planning to consider distinguishing between private and commercial sellers in a future major update.
BUT unfortunately, digital platforms in the EU must not only be able to distinguish between private and commercial sellers, they must also implement Directive (EU) 2021/514 and comply with enhanced reporting and due diligence obligations as well as use automated procedures.
The Directive broadly applies to platform operators, regardless of their head office, and requires both digital platforms operating in the EU and foreign platform operators to comply with the Directive when they facilitate transactions with EU sellers or customers within EU Member States.
Violations of reporting obligations, such as late or incomplete reports, can result in significant fines.
In Austria, for example, the Rechtsvorschrift für Digitale Plattformen-Meldepflichtgesetz applies.
In simple terms, platform operators must fulfil the following obligations:
REPORTING OBLIGATION
Platform operators are required to report tax-relevant data of their private and commercial sellers to the tax office annually, whereby the platform operators bear full responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the information!
This includes personal data such as name, address and tax number, but also transaction data such as the amount of income, number of transactions, total sales and amounts paid, as well as the type of services provided or goods sold.
DUTY OF CARE
Platform operators are responsible for checking the reported data for accuracy and completeness.
This includes measures such as identity verification of users, validation of the provided tax numbers and regular updating and maintenance of the data records.
AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION
Platform operators are required to use automated procedures using a standard electronic format (this one is the Austrian version) to ensure data exchange with the tax authorities.
So please I request confirmation that Modesy is able to meet these requirements (especially the AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION), otherwise Modesy unfortunately CANNOT be used to set up a website that complies with EU regulations and that is not something I decide, but something that is decided by an EU Directive.
Hello,
Yes, adding a seller type and asking the user to provide this information when they want to become a seller is indeed useful for general regulatory purposes. However, our script does not include an automated system that processes the database data, formats it according to the legal requirements of each country, and sends it to the relevant authorities.
Implementing such a feature would require a substantial budget, as it involves highly advanced integration and compliance work. Expecting this kind of functionality from a $69 script is unrealistic.
Our software includes all the essential e-commerce features needed to operate in any country. But if you are looking for a system with such advanced capabilities, CodeCanyon is not the right place to look. For that, you would need to work with a professional software company to develop a fully customized solution like Etsy, eBay etc..
Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to respond and for once again bringing more clarity to the functionality of Modesy.
I would like to explicitly mention that I have the utmost respect for all the essential e-commerce features that have already been implemented, which also boast an exceptionally beautiful design and offer an excellent user experience; I congratulate you on this.
And yes, you are absolutely right, that expecting this kind of functionality from a $69 script is unrealistic.
However, I also don’t want buyers of Modesy to expect this kind of functionality, because the lack of implementation of these obligations (especially those of the AUTOMATED PROCEDURE OBLIGATION), which are part of the EU Directive, unfortunately means that Modesy, at least in the EU, CANNOT be operated in accordance with the law, whereas the platforms you mentioned, such as Etsy, eBay, etc., have implemented these obligations and are therefore operating in accordance with the law!
I regret that I cannot give you a better conclusion regarding Modesy’s deployment in the EU.
By the way, my comments apply not only to Modesy, but to ALL scripts that have similar functionality as Modesy, so you are not alone with this problem (EU Directive)!
Hello,
Thank you!
If you want such advanced features as you mentioned, you would need to work with a software company. To have all these features, the software must be custom-built specifically for you and the region you want to use it in. Even just getting started with such a project would cost thousands of dollars. We hope you can find a software that meets your needs.
We may add individual and commercial options in the future. However, the other advanced features you requested are unlikely to be added.
Sir, is it possible that everyone is asking for login using their mobile number ???
Hello, this feature is not available in the current system. The login process can only be done using an email address. Thanks.
Hello! There is a problem using AI to generate text, the error: Unexpected response code: 429 Related to many requests on the server, CDN was additionally connected, but the error is the same.
Hello,
The API may reject your request if it exceeds the usage limits. This can happen if requests are sent too frequently, if the prompts are too large, or if your account does not have sufficient credits. When you click the “Generate Text” button, the system sends only one request to the API. There is no loop or similar process that would trigger multiple requests. Therefore, the issue is most likely related to your API account. Please check your account if you continue to encounter this error.
For more details, please refer to this article: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/5955604-how-can-i-solve-429-too-many-requests-errors
Regards,
Thank you, now I understand!
You are welcome.
Suggestion
It would be great to add the option to create limited-time offers with automatic expiration times!
I see several people making this request, and it will be a huge differentiator for Modesy.
Hello,
This feature is on our update list and may be added in the future. However, we cannot promise when that will be. In the next major update, we are planning to add a classified ads theme. After that, we will continue adding new features in future updates. Please follow our updates for more features.

Hello
I get layout issues( not right setup-layout, no strukure etc.) after succesful installation. What to do??
Hello,
Please refer to the ’’SSL and WWW Settings’’ article to make the necessary adjustments: https://codingest.com/knowledge-base?content=206
Regards,
I’ve enabled the affiliate system, and it’s working fine in terms of crediting the commission to the referrer’s wallet after a successful sale.
However, I noticed an issue: When a customer’s order is refunded and the refund request is approved from the system, the affiliate commission is not being deducted from the referrer’s wallet. The amount still remains visible in their wallet balance even after the refund.
Please check and confirm if this logic (auto-deduction of affiliate commission on refund approval) can be implemented or if it’s a bug in the current setup.
Hello,
This is not a bug. Affiliate earnings are not deducted from the referrer’s wallet when a refund request is approved. The affiliate earnings from the refunded order will remain in the referrer’s wallet. This is how the system currently works.
Please note that, since you currently have an active support plan, you can contact us through our Help Center, which is our primary support channel.

Dear Support Team, I hope this message finds you in good health.
In 2020, we engaged a freelance company for our e-commerce project, and they utilized your theme (in CodeIgniter) for our project. Unfortunately, we removed the website in 2022, but we are now in the process of bringing it back online. Currently, we are encountering an error stating “invalid license code.” along with other depreciated errors.
I have a few questions: 1 – If I purchase your theme, will I be able to use it for my previous project? 2 – If I enlist the services of your development team, will they be able to update my site to the latest version of CodeIgniter? 3 – If the answer is yes, how can I contact you to discuss this matter in detail, including the associated costs?
I look forward to your prompt response.
Hello,
Thank you! I hope you are doing well too.
You don’t need to worry about the license. Please create an account on our help desk (if you don’t already have one), and then go to the Licenses section to either generate your license or change your domain if you prefer.
1- If you already have a CodeCanyon purchase code, you can use it to generate a license code and continue using the script. Licenses do not have an expiration time. However, if you don’t have a purchase code, you will need to purchase one.
2- Update operations are not included in product support. However, the update process is very simple, and you can update your site by following the instructions in the documentation. Please note that your site must be version 2.3 or higher. We no longer support updates from versions older than this.
3- You can contact us through our help desk for any further questions: https://codingest.com
Thank you.
hi there,
Thanks for the response.
How can I generate a ticket on your help desk? As there is only one option for pre-sales questions.
I do have the purchase code, as I mentioned; I also have a full backup of the website, along with the database. That website was developed in 2020, so it is on version 1.5. And in the table general setting, I have purchase code and mds_key. That means the license code has already been generated. just want to know the domain name it is attached to.
For hiring the freelance developer, i will check on your helpdisk.
Hi,
You can write by selecting the “pre-sales” option. In such cases, it doesn’t matter where you write from. We always help with license issues.
If you have a purchase code, please create your license through our help desk: https://codingest.com/licenses
Unfortunately, this version is very old, and more than five years have passed since its release. You are using an older version that was built with CodeIgniter 3. Since then, our script has undergone many changes, and updates from these old versions are no longer supported. In this case, you can download the latest version and perform a fresh installation. You will also need to re-add your site content through the Admin panel.
Thank you.
Hi,
Presale questions please;
If Super Admin set only bank transfer payment method and we charge customer for each membership plan.
1. If we does not charge commission for each sales, when vendor can sell items. Vendor can get money directly or not, or buyer can pay us first and we’ll return money to vendor later?
2. If we charge commission for each sales, buyer can pay us first and we’ll send money to vendor later by deduct commission and return the rest of money to vendor?
3. Can we sell marketplace in our country only?
Thanks so much in advance for clarification.
Hi,
1-2. All payments are made to the admin’s accounts. There is no difference whether a commission is charged or not. If only the bank transfer payment method is active on the site, all payments will go directly to the admin’s bank account. After an order is completed, the seller’s earnings from that order are reflected in their wallet balance. Once their balance exceeds the minimum payout amount set by the admin, they can request a payout. After receiving a payout request, the admin will send the payment, approve the payout, and the corresponding amount will be deducted from the seller’s balance. The vendors do not receive their earnings directly.
3. Modesy can be used in single-country mode. You can find this setting in the ’’Location > Countries > Settings’’ section of the admin panel.
Regards,
Superb and more features indeed, I will order another one soon. Thanks
Thank you for your continued interest in our Modesy script.

hello support
for some reasons my site is taking too many server resourses. i have only about 100k of products and am using vps with lots of space. the site alone is taking way too much server space https://prnt.sc/uiDU5iFm4l9q making the dont work.
what can i do because website is not working
how do we fix the problem?
Hello,
This is not normal. Our script is only about 100MB in size. Even if you upload around 100,000 images, it should never reach such a large file size.
If you are using the script in development mode, the system continuously writes logs and other metrics to files. Therefore, make sure that your .env file has “CI_ENVIRONMENT = production”. You can also delete the files inside the “writable/cache”, “writable/debugbar”, and “writable/logs” directories. When running in production mode, issues like this should not occur.
If this doesn’t solve your problem and the total size of the files in your “uploads” folder is not actually that large, please consider renewing your support plan and contacting us through the help desk. We can then review your site directly to identify the issue.
Thanks.
Will you be kind to help fix this for me please because I know your script is the best and has the capabilities to run smoothly so I find it strange this is happening.
I will appreciate it to help fix it because is putting too much load on the server.
Please let me know to send you cpanel and access.
Thanks a million for the help.
We already explained in the previous comment how to fix this. You need to check these folders and delete any unnecessary files if there are any.
Also, you are not using our original code. You are still using an older version that has been modified by yourself. Unfortunately, if any code has been changed, it is no longer covered by support, and you are responsible for any issues that may occur. However, as we explained, the issue may be caused by files that have accumulated over time, and since you are using an old version, even warning logs may have been written continuously. If you delete these files and run the system in production mode, you should not experience any issues.
Thanks.
Hello,
Is there a way to integrate Google Merchant Center? I want to make some campaigns on Google Shopping Ads.
Thanks
Hello,
The Google Merchant Center integration is not currently available. It is on our update list and will likely be added in the future; however, we cannot provide an estimated timeline at this time. In the next update, we plan to introduce a classified ads theme.
Please note that our code is open source, so if you need this feature sooner, you can work with a developer to integrate Google Merchant Center.
Thanks.
Hello, with the new version, is it possible to bulk-modify custom fields via a CSV import? For example, by exporting all products, changing the custom field data in the file, and then re-uploading it?
Hello,
Unfortunately, this option is not available. You can only bulk upload custom fields; there is no option to edit them in bulk.
Regards,
Could you please let me know if you have any plans to add a Google Merchant feed (XML/CSV) or Content API integration in the next updates? This would be very useful for all store owners who want to advertise their products on Google.
Hello, this feature is on our update list. However, since we will be focusing on the classified ads section for a while, we cannot say exactly when it will be added. Please follow our updates for more features. Thanks.
Hi,
When adding a rating, you must also write a message. A validation message will be added for this. If you select a rating and write a message, it should work without any issues.
Yes, we have a similar plan, and it is already on our update list. In a future update, we plan to remove the “Sell Now” button and add a separate “Become a Seller” page to make these sections more professional.
Thank you for your other suggestions as well. Yes, we also plan to make some improvements to the membership plans in the future. Please follow our updates for more features.
Thanks!
I’m still discovering a few bugs in the demo version before purchasing the script. I noticed a small issue with loading the number of followers and following on user profiles. I’m eagerly waiting for the next update. Thank you for the great work you’re doing!
Hello,
We are currently gathering feedback to identify and confirm any bugs or other issues before releasing another minor update to address them.
If you encounter a bug or an issue, please provide detailed information so we can verify and fix it in the next update. You can also report any issues through the ’’Report Bug’’ section of our Help Center, where you can easily attach screenshots and files and provide a detailed explanation to help us confirm the issue: https://codingest.com/report-bug
Thank you.
Hi,
Presale question; Please advise any monetization which we can get for this script.
Thanks
Hi,
These are the general monetization options available in the Modesy script: earning a commission from each sale on the site, selling membership packages to vendors, charging vendors to promote their products, and running ads on the site.
Thanks.
Hello,
I noticed a small issue in CartModel.php that caused the error “Undefined property: stdClass::$countryId”.
I’ve already fixed it on my side (it was due to countryId vs country_id naming mismatch),
but I wanted to let you know so other buyers won’t face the same problem.
Thank you for your great work!
Hello,
Yes, it seems there is a small issue here. We will make the necessary corrections in our next update.
Thank you for this feedback! Regards.
Hi, We use Modesy as a marketplace and want to import/sync products from Shopify automatically. Two questions:
1. Do you plan an official Shopify → Modesy module? If yes, what’s the expected scope?
2. What’s your recommended integration approach today (API/hooks, docs)?
Scope we need:
Products & Variants: SKU, barcode, price/compare_at, inventory, weight/dimensions, options
Media: multiple images download & attach
Categories: Shopify Collection/Tags → Modesy Category mapping
SEO & Metafields: title/description, MPN/GTIN, etc.
Sync: initial batch import, scheduled delta sync (cron), and webhooks (product create/update/delete, inventory updates)
Multi-language & currency (optional)
Idempotent writes with mapping tables
Technically we plan to use Shopify Admin API (REST/GraphQL) + webhooks and a mapping layer on Modesy. If you consider an official module, could you share info on licensing/version compatibility? Any developer docs/hooks list would help. Thanks!
Hi,
1. In the next update, we will be working on the Classified Ads section. However, in future updates, we will continue improving the Marketplace section as well. A Shopify integration ight be added in the future, but we cannot promise that at the moment. Still, we will keep developing and enhancing both the Classified Ads and Marketplace sections of our script.
2. Currently, this integration does not exist, so there is no API or documentation available for it.
If we add it in the future, it will be released as a free update, and all of our customers will be able to use it. When this system is added, most (if not all) of the product-related details you mentioned will also be included.
Right now, it’s impossible to give a definite answer. However, as mentioned, if this feature is added in the future, it will be provided as a free update. If you don’t want to wait, you can also create and use your own API for this purpose.
If you need technical documentation to edit the codes, you can use the CodeIgniter documentation: https://codeigniter.com/user_guide/tutorial/index.html
Thank you!
When will the 2.6.2 patch updates be released?
Hello,
We have not released the update yet, because we are still collecting feedback from our customers. The update will be released once we receive a few more reports.
Regards,
