Regarding nginx, yes, BeMusic will work on any webserver, it does not have any special requirements.

Thank you for the response and confirming that this would not work. That’s too bad. Could I submit a request to have this as a feature? I have 800GB of our own recordings that I want to visually represent but it wouldn’t be possible to upload all of those files through the BeMusic interface.
We have something similar on the roadmap for a future update, but no exact date for it yet unfortunately.
Hi, 1) Is this software only for online streaming platforms like YT, Spotify,.. , or can I import my own files? 2) if own files – which formats are possible, mp3, others? which ones? 3) Must the files all being uploaded by the panel, or can i put them all via ftp in a folder, and the software can scan them and import them into its library? 4) How many files are possible, or when it will become slower. How big will DB grow per 1000 songs, or per 10.000, are there any insights? thank you

1. You can import/upload own files as well.
2. mp3/mp4 are supported as well streams (hls or dash).
3. Currently they need to be uploaded via admin panel.
4. For thousand songs database size would be pretty small. It would only noticeably increase in size when there are a few millions songs.

That said, I’m starting to get concerned about the size of the site — the database is currently around 75 GB. My question is: at some point, is it safe to remove or clean up certain data to manage the size, and if so, what would be the best way to do that without causing issues?
I really appreciate the work you’ve put into BeMusic and would be grateful for any guidance on safely managing storage as the site continues to grow.

And I can’t add Spotify playlists as a channel anymore. What are you doing with these updates I thought updates should add cool features not remove them
Spotify recently changed their API to not allow access to playlists that are created by them, there’s no much that can be done about this from BeMusic side unfortunately. Playlists created by users on spotify should still work though.

We’ve no plans for a native app at the moment.
Regarding API, yes, BeMusic has a fully featured Rest API. Everything that is possible on the website can be done via API as well.
This is a suggestion, not a question.
I’ve been using this app for quite some time and I love it! One thing I think would be useful is for “genres” to have “subgenres” within them, like categories that can be nested inside each other. Or if that’s not possible for genres as such, then add “Categories” (allowing some categories within others) as a new way of organizing and cataloging content. I think that would improve content cataloging.
Would it be possible to implement this in the next update?
