I dont use Gutenberg i´ve disabled this. So my question ist “Tocert” working only with Gutenberg or also like TOC (the old plugin). So I hope i can use the new one without Gutenberg! Cheers Jens

I updated to Tocert, but a Critical Error occurred, and there were conflicts with specific features of the theme, so I removed it. I plan to continue using Fixed Toc. If security vulnerabilities are found in Fixed Toc or compatibility issues with the latest WordPress versions arise, are there any plans to provide separate updates for Fixed Toc?

We just updated from 3.1.20 to 3.1.28 and the TOC is gone now. I just investigated the issue and the reason is line 662-664 in the file /frontend/class-frontend-control.php>

if ( ! in_the_loop() ) {
    return false;
}

Once this is uncommented, everything works as expected. Can you please either remove this or make it filterable?

I’m using Elementor to display your plugin next to my posts, and I’ve encountered an issue with the Table of Contents (TOC). My post titles are set dynamically as H1 headings, but when I insert the TOC using the shortcode, it starts from the H2 headings and skips the H1 (post title).

It seems that the H1 is excluded because it’s generated dynamically. Is there a way to include the post title (H1) in the TOC as well, even though it’s set dynamically?

We would love to see a filter for CSS classes as well. That would be super useful and should not be complicated to add.

Don’t you think there should be an option to exclude headings by CSS class? For example, I want to exclude 15 headings, and now I need to add all of them one by one. All my unwanted headings have a class called “exclude-heading-toc”, so it would be easier to add the class name instead of adding them all one by one.

We are in the process of converting the FAQ accordions on our site to using GenerateBlocks. Noticed a few pages appear very strangely, with the icon not functioning properly and random spacing being inserted in the accordion content.

It appears there are empty paragraph < p > < / p> being inserted throughout the accordion items.

Through troubleshooting, we’ve identified that the glitch is due to a conflict between Fixed TOC and GenerateBlocks. See these two pages for direct comparison:

Hi, the plugin is cool, but it causes CLS issues because Fixed TOC embed TOC into posts without reserved space before it appears.

So this problem will reduce CLS scores and affect Core Web Vitals. Hope you will fix by pre-adding space for TOC before it appears and the problem will solve. Thanks

I checked the demo and saw that Fixed TOC will increase DOM, It is not good for pagespeed.

WordPress usually has a div with class = “entry-content” for content. You should add the class “ftwp-postcontent” to this div instead of creating a child div.

You can let people provide the class name of the content div in plugin settings. If people do not provide it, the default is “entry-content”, if “entry-content” does not exist, create a child div as you did.

I used this plugin with the “newspaper” theme from “tagdiv” and it worked fine, now I changed to “foxiz” from “theme-ruby” and the plugin kills the layout in the posts, after I activate it takes away the space between headings and general text.

I cannot seem to get it to work. I have added the [ toc ] shortcode to this page, which does not seem to work. I did not see anything that needed to be activated. You can follow the link to see.

If you see on the right side, when you scroll to the last section Section 4 here ( Conclusion Section ) is not getting highlighted, this is happening on all pages that the last tab does not get highlighted, Can you help me with the best practices to troubleshoot and resolve this error?
