Just purchased the plug-in and wondered about preventing the download option when clicking on the file in galley.
Also can the icons be made bigger and is there a setting to show a thumbnail of the document. Thanks.
Hi, about preventing the download – would it mean there is no link or you would like to open it in new tab? You could make the icons bigger with bit of custom CSS

but there is no option to show the thumbnail of the document. If you mean the featured image that you select manually for each document then that is something we might implement but having automatic preview of the documents isn’t on the roadmap.

Hi, yes it’s still active. We usually push updates if there are bugs, adding compatibility with latest WP version or when adding new features. In the past few months there was no need as there were no bugs.
You have to upload things to media so your video would have to be self hosted one.
Hi! We are currently running version 1.2.2 under Wordpress. I have just deactivated and deleted the plugin, then downloaded and uploaded the latest version. When the plugin is enabled, the page does not load and informs me of a ‘fatal error’. If I delete the extension via FTP and put the old version back, the site works again. What can I do to get the latest version running on the site?

I tried to install the 2.0.1 version and found that after activating the plugin I received the following error message: “A serious error has occurred on our website. Please check the mailbox associated with your administrator email address for details. Read more about WordPress debugging”.

I made so much progress that I upgraded wordpress to version 6.5.3 and it allowed me to install and activate Fivo Docs 2.01. Currently, under Settings—> Fivo Docs, a blank screen loads and when I want to create a new page in the classic editor, the ‘Add Docs’ button is missing. I will write to support and give you access to the page.

Hi, you do have option for a custom selection so you can create as many different instances as you want.
There is no way to restrict access to documents. Maybe a way would be that you have different pages that can be accessed by specific users and on those pages you showcase the docs. You would have to use some other plugin to restrict access to pages.
Is it possible to add fields and reminders for documents about to expire or schedule renewals?
Hi, there is option to add captions so you might add that info into a caption that will be visible below the document title.

Hi, there is no preview option. For PDFs that might be possible easier but for other types of docs not. If you want to email yourself a link you can just copy the link and email it yourself.

Pre sales question – will this plugin work on a multisite? Can all the sub sites pull in the documents from 1 root site?
Hi, this plugin does work on a multisite but not like you described here.
Fivo Docs is using the WordPress media library and by default that library isn’t shared between main site and sub sites. It’s how WordPress works.
If you are using some plugin that allows sharing media then Fivo Docs will work also.
When I upgraded my clients website to PHP 8.0 your plugin broke the site. When i disable your plugin, the site runs fine. When will you have an update to fix this?
Hi, the plugin at the moment is only showing warning only visible if you have debug enabled, not error. You should disable WP_DEBUG for sites that are live as it can introduce also security issues.

Hi, this isn’t an error message it’s just a notice. But you shouldn’t have WP_DEBUG enabled on a live website. If you disable WP_DEBUG you won’t see this notice.

How can I organize all the documents in a category in alphabetical order? In my particular case, I number the documents, but since they have been added on different dates, they all come out of order.
Any chance to sort them by name?

Hello. Love the plugin and it all works great except for pages where I am using the ‘sections’ feature with a GeneratePress child theme: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sections-overview/. The ‘add documents’ button is not appearing however it works fine for the standard page editor. Realise that the sections feature of GeneratePress is now deprecated, however they have provided some code for the functions.php file for those that still need to use it and i’m one of those. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Is this plugin still being supported? I am using Divi builder and the add doc does not show. Does it not work in Divi? If not, that would have been good to know before purchase.

Hi, if you mean how to add new documents to the list or change categories etc. and if you are using the new WordPress editor you can just edit the Fivo Docs block. There is no way to get the edit screen for the old shortcode version. You could see the shortcode and add manually doc or category id to the list.

Hi, I’m searching a plugin to display folders with links to PDF files. Your plugin seems to do that but I need to display the PDF files list of each folder in a drop-down menu. Is it possible ? thanks
Hi, there is no option to display the list in a menu item. You could add custom menu items and link it to the file.
