Only running the shortcode [simple-weather location=”auto”] and getting “Invalid date °C OpenWeather needs a location or latitude & longitude coordinates, in order to show the weather.” displayed. Seems the plugin is no longer supported, which is disappointing as I finally thought I’d found the weather plugin that met all my needs!

Where is the support? I have purchased support twice and I get zero responses from “their own support system”. The “invalid date” issues has been going on for over 6 months. Two months ago the developer said they would fix this, but there have been no updates on this plugin since December 2022. This plugin either needs to be reviewed and marked “unsupported” and dropped by Envato, OR it needs to be supported.
I love this plugin, but it will no longer work with GPS coordinates without making a code change. You’ll also need to signup for Open Weathers onecall 3.0 API service. For this to work you’ll need to change the endpoint on line 128 of simple-weather.php
From this: $openweather_route = ’http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/'; To this: $openweather_route = ’http://api.openweathermap.org/data/3.0/';
Also, once you signup for the OWS onecall 3.0 API, you might need to wait an hour or so. Also, you will need your own API. Leaving the field blank will no longer work as it use to.

I have a question about future features. Are you planning to add any extended features for things like snow or rain fall? I use this plugin on a snow sports website and it would be amazing if I could add in the snow fall forecast as well. Maybe this could be done with custom coding currently, but do you have any plans to include things like that in future releases?

We can not guarantee RTL compatibility for our product, as the plugin was not build for a RTL display. Still, it might look fine by default, without custom tweaking or it might need small adjustments. Since you have the plugin already, you can try and see how it looks. All the best.

No, the geolocation API is required only if you wish to display the visitors’ location. For latitude and longitude location we recommend creating a free API key from our weather forecast provider, OpenWeatherMap. All the best.
Hi, the widget seems to have a bug. All of a sudden current temperature is displayed incorrect (-1 Celcius) while weather forecast is correct (around 25 Celcius). This was working fine until recently but I can not open a ticket because my support time has expired. Do I really need to buy extended support when there is a bug?

Please make sure you are running the current version of the plugin. Since you’ve purchased the plugin several years ago, you might run a very old version. Yes, we strongly recommend using your own API key from OpenWeatherMap. It is possible to use the plugin without your own API key, but you will get inconsistent results. It is free to create a regular API key on their site. All the best.
