2. As I understand ill require an API from a website and having Firebase running to facilitate the features, Can I install firebase on a different server and set up the connection via plugin settings?

1. The plugin can not override page restriction rules. By the way, please note that you will need to purchase the Extended license if you plan to use the plugin with paid membership plans.
2. You don’t need to install Firebase, it runs in a cloud. You will just need to create API credentials and save them in the settings. After that the plugin will automatically connect to it.
3. Yes, you can place it to any page or post. You can also override the default styles with CSS to change the look and feel, though it’s not possible to change the structure and hierarchy of elements.
4. Yes, you can define the asset list. The plugin is supposed to let users define their own portfolios, so you can’t disable this feature.

So far I started having some problems . I installed the plugin and configured it on a sandbox environment to test it before I put it to my production website. I followed your help guidelines by completely uninstalling the plugin and in my production website i cant activate the license as it says is being used by a different domain.. please advise.

you need a WordPress website to install this plugin. It comes with the detailed instructions how to set up the Firebase. You will have full control of the Firebase database. There are no fees unless you need to use a non free API plan.
