I am really excited to purchase this plugin, so I should be grateful if you would answer 5 questions. With the Pinterest, Media Grid, and Blog-Post layouts:
1. can I add any combination of video, audio, images to all of the blocks?
2. can advertising html code be added to any of the blocks
3. how many category search-tabs can be displayed at the top of the posts?
4. if there are many (say 20) category search-tabs, do they wrap to another line?
5. can I make all the blocks the same size using CSS styling?
Looking for a good response, as I have been searching for a plugin like this all my adult life.

Here are the answers:
1) Yes, you can combine them
2) Not sure which type of advertising you have in mind, but yes, the blocks/items support HTML, so you can just add in the post-content
3) There’s no limit
4) Yes, they wrap in a second line, you can even customize it with CSS, in case you want the items centered and with some margin between items
5) I’m guessing you are referring to the post-content area, which is variable, if so, then yes, you can set a static height so all items have the same height

1) First make sure the “post title” is added in the skin editor (this would be the image name), like this: https://imgur.com/a/rdImaHV
2) And if you don’t want the title to be visible, then you can hide it with custom CSS, like this: https://imgur.com/a/Pl9JOFr

Hi! Have some issues with video type posts. Is it possible to make posts be displayed not by feature image, but by the post type that they have defined? To have a video displayed in place of the feature image if it’s set as a post type (rather than having to go to a separate post and then click on the video). And how can I do that?

I’m looking for an alternative to Media Grid. Media Grid wants to regularly check license keys (it appears hourly). The problem with this is if LCweb server goes down, so does my grid of media. I’m not looking to use plugins illegally, i’ve bought hundreds. I have no problem with purchasing a plugin, but i don’t want my site dependent on another server for functionality. I want to keep dependencies to a minimum.
So my question is, how does you plugin validate a key?

I see others have asked this question but don’t see an answer out there. I’m looking to replace the post loop of both the archive and blog (home) templates with specific media boxes. I’ve done this before with other grid plugin-ins with great success but I might have something wrong in the code as it’s not working with your plug-in.

3. Very important thing: sometimes after selecting options additional characters are added to the page address, which are not needed (...#(mediaboxes-grid-63df1b79e9b5a|filter_1)=.category …). What settings do I need to make to keep the page address unchanged when selecting options in the filter?
4. Can it possible to add different types of contents and sources to one shortcode? For example, portfolio and posts? We need to make it so that people can select by filter from different materials.

1) Very strange behavior, I think there must be a CSS conflict between your theme and the plugin, can you share the link to your site where the gallery is? so I can take a look and provide some CSS fix
2) Is not possible to select multiple options, only by using checkboxes
3) You can deactivate the deeplinking feature on the popup here: https://imgur.com/a/inGk1Er
4) Unfortunately is not possible to combine different sources into one gallery/portfolio

Have another question
Custom Media Gallery. When media adding it is possible to add a custom link for each photo separately. But If select options during skin creation, it either takes you to the media page or to the same link for all media. Is it possible to configure this mode to navigate for each media to the specified link settings, which are specified in the Source tab?
You can add some extra information to each image/media, just right click on the “Edit Image” link as shown here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xnn4ioBMzn6vSOxM3cWHhOdXv0P2Bzgz/edit
Then scroll a little and you’ll find the Media Boxes Meta Data, in there you can modify the Post URL, to any URL.
Finally in your Skin set the link to point to the Post URL

Good day! I had another question and figured I should move our conversation off the main comment thread.
FireFox is being strange with those buttons and I have NO idea what’s causing it. I’ll check a few other computers to be sure it’s not just me.
On another note: I’m using your plugin on photos in the media library. I’ve made the minor additions needed to add WP native tags and categories to Media and then realized that the plug-in doesn’t support that.
Is this something that could be sensibly supported without fowling anything up or making the plug-in needlessly confusing? Moreover, is this something you might consider adding support for?
It’s a pretty common thing to do. Frankly I’m stunned Automatic still hasn’t just made a it standard at this point.
To clarify, I’m hoping to be able to set filters on Wordpress standard categories and/or tags for images if said categories and/or tags exist.
Just trying to keep as many basic administrative functions as I can in the standard WP interface.

Yes, very strange behavior from FireFox, I haven’t seen this kind of issue before.
Unfortunately the plugin doesn’t support the custom categories on the Media Library, but I created a BETA special feature that imports your custom categories into the plugin, then you must handle and administre them in the plugin admin section, you can give it a try here: https://imgur.com/a/BjTjxBj (let me know if you see this button)

Pre-purchase question regarding filters: Do filters work on paginated or lazy loaded items?
I use another plugin for some time but found that while it had filters it could only filter the items currently being displayed. Likewise, if you loaded All and then filtered from there it couldn’t filter the unloaded items into the same ‘page’.
Does that make sense? I’m not sure I’m explaining it properly. LOL! I appreciate any light you can shed on this part of the plug-in’s functionality.

The plugin doesn’t have pagination, but if you are referring to the “lazy loaded items”, then yes, the plugin is able to filter those items without any issue.
Also, if you are currently on a filter and load more items, the plugin is smart enough to only load items from the current filter, in other words, the plugin takes into consideration for loading more items the filter you currently have set

Oh this is weird!
Purchased and installed the plug-in with no problems, but… (cuz there’s always a but)
In the Grig tab, under loading options, you allow us to change the text used for Load more, Loading and no more entries.
I started with the No more entries text and when I changed it to “fin” it wrote out “fit”. Thought that was weird so I changed it to “Done” and it wrote out “Jutk”.
I don’t know if it’s doing anything similar with the other fields as I just started playing with it but I thought you should know it’s being janky.
LOL! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It’s acting normal in Chrome but FireFox is changing the text for some reason. No autocorrect of any kind. No extensions or plugins loaded. Just default configuration. Thought it might be a language thing but that’s all correct as well.

Hi there, been using your plugin for a while now. Works great.
I’ve been using a masonry grid layout using portfolio pages with lightbox only ticked. When i click on an image from the grid it opens the lightbox and shows me the title of the portfolio page underneath the opened image. Is there any way to get the plugin to display the text or even the excerpt of the portfolio page’s text in stead of the portfolio’s title?

Never mind i found the title editor in the Media Boxes Settings area on the portfolio pages. It does the exact same thing i wanted to do using the excerpts. (still would be nice to just be able to select the excerpt or text field in the editor in stead of only having the title)

I think the deeplinking feature from the plugin is causing some unwanted results on your theme, I would suggest to turn it off first:
You can do it in your portfolio settings, and in the “Popup” tab you’ll find an option named “Enable deep linking in the popup”.

I have a mechanism ready, including cookie-based “already read” post count (you can see it in the ping badge next to Blog menu item). Just wondering if that could be somehow easily integrated with your plugin.

Great, here are few pointers:
1) In the class_media_boxes_shortcode.php file find this:
$post_date = date_i18n( get_option( 'date_format' ), get_post_time( 'U', true ) );just below that line you can add your condition
2) Then some lines further find this peace of code:
<div class='media-box $post_categories_CSSclass' $data_columns>in there you can add maybe a special class to the box container

I would like to filter and sort based on the EXIF metadata TAG field attached to the photos in the media folder. I believe this would require a dynamic build of the categories for the filter based on whatever photos are in the media. Is something like this possible with this tool?
