I’m using Real Media Library in conjunction with a BuddyPress/bbPress site that I’m developing. I’m happy that it works well on the front end where I use tinyMCE as the editor for forum posts.
On my site, each group has its own forum. I’m planning to have media folders for each group and I’d like RML to open to that folder when a user opens the Add Media modal in that group. Think of this as a context-aware default startup folder.
I’ve looked at the DefaultFolder.php code and it doesn’t look like you’ve included any hooks. I could, of course, just code my own version of DefaultFolder.php but that’s not good practice.
Can you suggest a way that I could get the functionality I want without hacking your code?

I see on that page that real media library is only compatible with certain themes (which would be surprising) is it true? (note that the comparison comes from someone who sell his own library plugin “premio”) https://premio.io/blog/4-best-filebird-alternatives-our-in-depth-comparison/
I also got concerned (even if i own both) regarding the performance impact of having real media library and real category on a live site that has already plugins (musth ave plugins, can’t do without) because back when i bought them, both were quite slow. Did things got better with time? it’s been a while i didn’t install them on a site.

Hi, Why is there a function fn_realmedialibrary_childs that stays in my database even AFTER i deleted everything (jsut didn’t delete the database name as it was easy to reuse the name, password etc.) and how can i delete it?

yes in phpmyadmin. Thing is, i just wanted to deleted all the tables (the plugin was not even on my server anymore) to start from scratch but while keeping the same bdd name, but i couldn’t do it because of i didn’t know how to delete that (i know now). Thanks

Hi! Yeah, as this plugin also uses the native WordPress media library they work both together. But: Real Media Library is “only virtual” organization, so pathes are not reflected to physical files. Regards, Matthew

We are using Real Media Library on a nr of our WordPress websites. Works great! We use WPML as translation plugin, which so far has been perfectly compatible. However, we have recently added a language, causing the folders to be gone – only for that specific language. Any idea how this can be remedied?

Is it possible to have the license work with dev/staging URLs as well? We are hosted at WPEngine and routinely copy our site from one to the other locations, and while everything works where we need it, the nag notices and inability to get updates is annoying.
Some other commercial plugins used will allow you to add these temp type URLs to the license, so wasn’t sure if you were set up to do that as well.
Also, just inherited the site where this is used, but am unable to find (on the live site) where the license info is even kept. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

WPEngine hosts 3 copies of your site. One at the main domain, and 2 at development subdomains of your choosing. It is all the same site, but used in different contexts of development or staging. It would be great to get rid of the constant nags :

Dear Sir/Madam
We have purchased the Real Media and Thumbnail generator. We are having lots of issues. 1) Out of the blue Folder file counts get out of whack. They show files where there is not. 2) We configure Thumbnail generator to put thumbnails in a sub-folder and all hell breaks loose and all links are broken. So we can’t really use this effectively 3) Importing folders DOES NOTHING. When there are new images there that were manually put in does not get imported, and when the file count is incorrect, it does not gets reset to the correct value.

I purchased your Real Media Library plugin a few years ago for my website. I am rebranding my site so my domain will be changing. To begin the process, I am planning to clone my existing site to the new domain. The existing site will still exist as I work on the new one; afterwards, I plan to redirect the old site links to the new site. I purchased this plugin with a regular license. Will the plugin work on the new domain, which will be using a new WordPress installation, do I have to purchase the plugin again, or there is another workaround?

Most of the errors are PHP errors of “Deprecated” code.

To the deprecation notices: This is a known issue with PHP >= 8.1. Currently, this is only a deprecation notice and you can ignore it. We will let you know when we are fully compatible with PHP 8.1. Real Media Library all of a sudden stopped working….all previously created folders disappeared … when I attempt to create new folder nothing happens, and must hit Cancel. Also, unable to get into settings, just spins!! Removed plugin, reinstalled, same issue, plus now I’m also unable to enter purchase code.
I paid for this plugin/with support, but no support appears to exist. Going on 36 hours since I submitted an “official support ticket”, and total silence!!

We understand that solving your problem is important to you. However, please note that if you open a support ticket on Friday evening German time, we will not be able to respond within a few hours. All our employees work Monday to Friday, as it is usual in Germany. With the answer today, we will answer you only one business day after opening your support ticket. Rating us negatively on multiple portals will not result in faster processing of your support ticket.
Unfortunately, we can’t judge from the outside what is going wrong with your WordPress. I can only assume that there is a problem with the REST API of your WordPress, which could no longer deliver the folder structure.
In the private support ticket you opened, I asked you for more information about your problem.
We would appreciate if you would reconsider if it is fair to rate us negatively without giving us the chance to answer you within a normal time period!

We are currently on Version 2.6.5 and looking to update to the latest. As soon as I upload Version 4.18.10, the old file structure is gone and no more folders exist.
How can I update to Version 4.18.10 while retaining the existing file/folder structure?
