I installed the plugin, made the configuration for the meme not to be published and put a template.
When opening the “SAVE” button, it shows an error “There was an error in the submission:Specified file failed upload test.”
Do you know how I can resolve this?
Uploading images and other files on the site is ok..

Yes, I changed servers. As I understand it, it was a permissions issue on the server.

Presell inquiries. Does it take too many cpu seconds? I can just afford shared host which has cpu seconds limits. If the plugin takes to many cpu seconds when lots of users use it, the site will be down
It depends on the size of the generated image, you can check the online demo. Smaller images, less data to be sent.

a few questions/suggestions…
1) would it be possible to have a list of latest, „popular/hot“ (eg most upvoted or viewed lately) and „most popular“ that could be applied to both… user created memes in meme-gallery and meme-templates?
it would be a good feature for the users to have a reddit kind of upvote/downvote list that indicates what the latest and most popular memes are (that might be placed on the start page)
2) when clicking on one meme template (eg nicolas cage), would it be possible to display the most popular memes (most viewed or most popular) that were created by users using this template?
3) as mentioned above it would be great if we could create a reddit like start page where you could have a „hot“ sorting of the latest user created memes based on the upvotes/downvotes

one more suggestion would be to have category-pages for each meme-template, where you could see how many images where created for this specific template including total upvotes and sorting by best/hot/new

Hi, I’m interested in your plugin. Can you add a following customization (I would pay extra for it): When creating a meme, you have to create meme and enter title. I would also like a “description” field. Where users can write their description of the meme they are creating. This needs to be shown on the url of meme (for example below the meme image) The reason I need that is because of the SEO (there has to be some text conten on url of meme image). Thank you!
Sorry I forgot to ask. Is it also possible to set the image name to what a person has writed on the meme and as ALT and TITLE text for that image. For example if someone has writed “Please, tell me more” on some meme image, that image should be saved as “please-tell-me-more.jpg” with ALT and TITLE tags “Please, tell me more”. I’m also asking that because of SEO aspect. Thanks

Hi, can you please contact me using the support form and send me the url ofd your generaotr? The input field should be triggerend also on touch devices, I don’t know if the copyright protection can be the problem.
Just a note: the keyboard only opens if you “click” on the text field, not if you “drag” that block.

Hi, currently not. Even if you set pending meme created by guests, they can download the image (but can’t view a dedicated post with its url). A quick option I could add would be “hide result”, so instead of viewing the generated meme’s image, we can set a custom message like “your submission in under review..”, but I don’t think I will also integrate a mailing list collector

Hi i love this plugin and it compliments my website well. For some reason though, even when changing the settings to allow guests to upload images and stickers. The stickers dont work. Not sure why. Hi Nicola! I am testing your plug and I have a problem with one thing. Namely, when I create a sticker and I want to put text on it, it only works in the generator view, and when saving, the sticker covers the text and it does so every time I try to change it. Do you have any idea for that?
Yes, the stickers have their own level, separate from the text boxes and the free drawing. They will be always on top, we could switch the order, but then the text would be always on top. We can’t mix order between textboxes and stickers

Since the generator can be placed almost everywhere, including widgets, we can’t edit the page title or the post content (it can be a post, or page, or widget, and you could have more than one generator inside the same page, so it would create conflicts). The best solution for seo purposes is create specific posts for each template and link the generator, or insert a custom generator directly inside the post, which loads that specific template
Is it possible for this plugin to allow the user to have half and half memes? What I mean is two images horizontally together to create a two image meme.

I really love this plugin after checking the demo, but one thing is missing, There must be template category for user to make meme, according to the users need in min time, As I think there are 500 template in one’s website then any user’s wants to use template of one specific categories, but due to missing this feature, I postpond the plan of buying this one.
seems to have broken with one of the latest wordpress updates. I cant get the meme images to load in the editors canvas, just a blank green space with a spinning square in the centre.

I am seeing its an ongoing issue with another customer. I am having the same issue with not being able to add text to the text box on Android (havent checked on iphone, i dont have one). You can move the text box around easily, it just doesnt allow entering text. Works fine on Desktop https://gtmemes.com/make-a-meme/
Just tested your wp with an Android phone, and it worked fine. Just a note: the text box is activated only if you “click” on it, not if you are dragging the box, to avoid the opening of the keyboard everytime you accidentally touch a box, or when you are dragging/resizig it
Hi Nic updated to latest version but android text still an issue. I cleared catch and data and still not working also text rotate stopped working also rotator moves but text box does nothing.

Hi, please try the latest version (2.0.2), it should fix the problem with mobile devices (Android)
About the loading time it can be many things: This plugin is optimized to load minified scripts only on request (generator, gallery, rating system). If you site is too slow it could depend on how many plugins you have installed, on the wp theme, and also on the server’s performances…

Hi, this is a pre sale question. Is there an way to share images (memes) directly in whatsapp / social networks instead of a link to image. I tried your demo and not even a preview of image was show in whatsapp when i tried to share a meme. Is this correct?
Also, could you add and intent to open native mobile sharing. Also tried to share in facebook for example, but instead of opening facebook app in my phone i was redirected to login via facebook web page. Most of social networks avoid login via web for security reasons. It would be great to open mobile apps directly to share memes / images.

About whatsapp it’s quite weird, because some memes are shared with preview, some others no:

Maybe whatsapp includes the preview only if the image weight is “smaller than”.
Sharing directly the images wouldn’t be seo friendly, but you can always download the image and share it.
With a mobile you could use its sharing button integrated with the mobile browser, the social buttons provided by the plugin are more for desktop indeed. I will possibly add a generic share button to trigger the navigator.share()
Mots user access websites via smartphones, so this feature (sharing with native mobile function) is a must today.
Just bellow memes i see a download button. May be you could add a mobile intent to share full image, such as this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/super-web-share/

Interesting question.. If we set a generic option to enable/disable, it will disappear from the default Activity page, but it would also disappear from the available block/widget options if you want to include it just inside a widget. For now I would suggest you to try the plugin “BuddyPress Activity Filter”, which has some settings to hide specific activities from the wall. I will look for a solution to set that specific option directly inside MeMeMe
*edit: the plugin suggested removes the new custom post activities anywhere, not only from the wall, I was wrong. Maybe the generic switch is the only solution. Let’s say that if we need a widget with latest memes we can use directly the MeMeMe block.
