Ok- I found the instructions. However I see no instructions on only allowing one admin to change the setting of the plugin. How do I block all other users even if they are admins from seeing the plugin setting or being able to change the setting except one admin user having that permission. I am able to do the lockdown and works on the information however it does not block them from changing the setting under plugin.
Hello You can password protect the settings page. instructions past initial setup are for further options. This setting is at bottom of settings page. We do not assist with pass recovery, so please follow instructions to backup your settings page password surely and securely
I bought this add on however how do I set this up. Do you have a manual or a video on who this plugin works?
Hello
Settings ->GF ENCRYPTED FEILDS
There are complete instructions and videos at the top of the settings page. Under the “setup and operation instructions” button
It there a way to have the built in wordpress Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data function to work with this plugin? I could search for entries with the requested email and just unencrypt those, then use those tools. Is there a better workflow?
Hello
We have no direct integration for the WP core data, and only support gravity forms data pathways.
Hi, the plugin seems to take up a lot of space in database, my postmeta is 600MB in size, even after I deleted all the form entries from gravity forms. How do I fix this? Thanks, V
Hello
Our plug-in does not itself write to or interact with the postmeta table at all. it encrypts gravity forms DB data only. If there is any connection, the first thing to try is updating to the latest version 5.9 although your issue is most likely unrelated to our plug-in.
Hello, is there a way to get past the lockout password? I thought I saved it but apparently I didnt….
Hello For security reasons we do not assist in getting around the set lockout password. This password should be recorded and safely stored by the user for any needed recovery of it per its guidelines of use.
So essentially I’m screwed? I really thought I recorded it but apparently I didn’t.
Hello
We can not assist individuals in getting around an admin security setting designed to prevent unauthorized access to the encryption settings.
Assuming you did not also select the setting to keep the password on uninstallation without recording the password per directions, you can use the following method from the setting instructions.
From the setting instructions : “It is important that if you password lock the settings page you write down and store the Settings Page LOCKOUT Password safely.
If you lose the password you will have to uninstall the plugin then reinstall to enter your encryption page settings again to re set-up the plugin and access any currently encrypted data again. This would require you to have both your Website Key and Encryption Password.“
What happens when the license expires? Does any functionality get removed or is it just that you will not receive updates? I am unfamiliar with envato and how to go about insuring a non lapse of coverage the license. The default time period of the license is 6 month or 12 months if payed for the extended, is this correct? It also seems I have to install envato market plugin to get alerts about new versions and is required for updating. I need their API token with -View and search Envato sites -Download your purchased items -List purchases you’ve made enabled, is this correct? What is the process to renew when the 12 months is up? Also, I purchased the non extended version to test but prob will be upgrading to the extended. On the support page is where I found the Registration Key. After I upgrade, do I deactivate and reactivate to get the extended time. I take it there is no discount on bulk purchases also because I will need this plugin for 4 WP sites.
Thanks in advance.
Hello
Licenses fo not expire. Support does. Support is author offering assistance. Item works normally past support expiration. NO special action is needed on renewal. You can update manually if you’d like. The envato plug-in guides you through its own setup for auto updates. If you have selected to receive notification of updates for the item you should also get an email notification on update release of item through code canyon account email.
Correct on support lengths. It is directly listed on item page under support section.
Licensing and support details are available through envato https://codecanyon.net/page/item_support_policy https://codecanyon.net/licenses/standardHope is helpful
we are having a hard time figuring out how to encrypt the info being stored in the site but allowing that information to be viewed within the pdf being generated when someone submits the form. The pdf is being attached and sent to the business owner and all encrypted form fields are not viewable. Is there a way to encrypt what stays on the site but make that info in the pdf viewable?
Hello
There is section in bottom of setup and use instruction on settings page for “setting up with gravity pdf”, which provide basic decrypted pdf template for use or modifying to custom pdf output.

Help! Upon trying to save my API Key, my website timed out (repeatedly), and it told me:

Hello
What version are you running? If not 5.9 please download and update to 5.9
Update on this: the timeout issue went away. It was potentially a conflict with Yoast SEO.
Hello
I bought a subscription yesterday and installed it on a customer’s site. When I enter the purchase code, there is a short pause and a message in red appears below he entry fields saying: “Failed to connect. Please try again”. This has persisted on frequent attempts for the last 12 hours.
I disabled and deleted the plugin. Restored the site to a backup of a week ago. Powered off and restarted my desktop and routers. Re-installed the plugin and tried again. Same problem.
I am running WordPress 5.7.2 on PHP 7.4. The site was built using Divi. All plugins and Divi are licensed and fully up to date. Gravity Forms is on 2.5.7. I am on a 1000mb fibre line running at full speed and everything else is working perfectly. I’m accessing the website using Chrome with no other tabs open.
I disabled all plugins except Divi and Gravity Forms and tried a number of times but the problem persists.
What can I do to get it to work?
Hello
Are you behind proxy?
Please contact us by contact form. (Click our user name) and we can try to assist with website information.
Hi, no, I’m not running behind a proxy. I’ll contact you right away on your contact form.
DEBUG --> GFAPI::update_entry() - form #1: DEBUG --> GFAPI::update_entry_property() - form #1: entry 45 IP removed. DEBUG --> GFFormsModel::delete_entry(): User ID 3 requested deletion of entry #45 DEBUG --> GFFormsModel::delete_entry(): Deleting entry #45. DEBUG --> GFAPI::delete_entry() - form #1: entry 45 deleted. Then I added a second form to the list of IDs in the settings, but for some reason the second form’s entries are not being deleted. I can see the entries in the admin still and in the logs I only see:
DEBUG --> GFAPI::update_entry() - form #3:
As for specifically what I have entered in the settings, I’ve populated the textarea for “Remove User IP Address From Form Submissions” and “Delete Entries After Submission” settings with 1,3
You can see that those are the correct IDs from the logs. Do you have any idea why my settings aren’t being applied to the second form?
Hello
Without knowing what other processes are running on form 3 it is hard to say why this would be occurring. For your entry in the options, can you remove the space after the comma?
I’m not running any other processes on form 3, I just created it for testing and it’s very simple – only has 2 fields and is included within a post just like the other. I do not have any spaces in my options entry, I just double checked.
I am however using the Gravity Forms Webhooks Add-on and have setup both forms to POST to a test endpoint. I didn’t think this was related though as both forms have the same webhook setup.
Hello
Thank you for the information. Can you try inserting a comma after the second entry please.
Just tried that and nothing changed. I did find though that we have an error going on with our “Background tasks” in the Gravity Forms System Report so it might be related to that. I’ve reached out to Gravity Forms support for help debugging.
Hello
Thank you fir the update. The other thing to attempt in discerning start of issue would be to reverse the order of listed forms . Eg: 3,1 We attempt to see if listing is actual issue since functionality is intact on single form. Please can inform of results after debug with GF
It seems like any time I change the settings they do no immediately apply unless applied to a new form. For example, I added a new form and then added that form ID to the list of forms in the settings and those settings were applied correctly right away. But then when I removed that form ID and saved the settings, it continued applying the previous settings. I am using W3 Total Cache and the Webhooks Add-on, do you think it could have to do with one of those? Why wouldn’t the settings apply as soon as I save them?
Hello
This is not normal behavior and from what it sounds like, it is most likely a PHP or page caching issue. The cache holds the old code for a while with setting not applied after you turn it on ..and also holds it turned on when you turn it off for a while before implementing the change.
It is unclear what php caching would be the culprit, but it could be a plug-in or a webhost setting or third party cloud fare type cache.
We’re running into an issue where the where the purchase code gets disabled. The code is in the field but I have to click the “Submit Purchase Code” button to active it again. This has happened multiple times. I also noticed that this plugin significantly slows down the site & viewing gravity forms entries. It seems to be eating a ton of memory, anything we can do about that?
Also, it says we can have the code on two sites, live & staging. Unfortunately, the domain changed after we initially set up the plugin. So now, the code is tied to a domain that doesn’t exist. Is there a way for you to unhook that domain so we can use the code on our staging site?
Hello Please use contact form (click our user name) to send us an email and we can correct the issue for you. Updating to the latest plugin version also eliminates these issues, but we can assist in quick method prior to upgrade
Hi! Everything was working fine, but since a few days ago I’m getting the emails notifications with the fields tags {gfef_decrypt_ALL+} not translated to the values. Opening the settings page asks the purchase code, once submited I can access all the options, and the email issue looks solve, but this lasts only a few days and the problem repeats. Any idea where to start to debug? Thanks!
Hello
The plugin checks for valid licensing on a schedule. You cannot run more than 1 website from a license ( allows for both live and development version ).
Also Please be sure you are running the latest plugin version 5.7.72 and if the issue persists you can contact us via the contact form on our author page. ( click our user name)
UPDATE:
This new release version has extra checks to eliminate any potential errors in licensing with a few extra checks in place. Please let us know if the issue persists.
Version 5.7.8 Changelog- Fixed potential unnecessary site de-registration from scheduled license checks.
- Fixed possible warning for invalid array index.
- Tested on WP 5.7.2
Hi
We have been using the plug in for a few months and it has worked really well. The plug in this week stopped letting me from seeing the encrypted fields on some new form entries and will only let me turn off the encryption, not on. With it saying:
Plugin Unlicensed. You may only turn off encryption. Register License.
We still have a valid license which was registered, so im unsure why it says this. I have tried accessing the plug in settings but it wont accept the encryption password i set up to access the settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Kat
Hello
1. Upgrade to the latest plugin version – Version 5.7.71
2. To access the settings page if the plugin deregistered, you need to re-enter your plugin purchase / license code if it is asking for the plugin to be registered.
3. If you set a settings page lockout password. You would need to enter this if it is asking for it. This is generally not the same as your encryption password unless you made them the same thing.
Hi
thank you for this. None of my passwords work. is there a way of re-setting it?
Also how do i update the plugin without logging into the settings?
Cheers
Kat
Hello
I would wait to update until after you unlock the page with the correct password. But you can also follow the manual update instructions in the plugins .read me file to do it either way.
If you go to the plugin editor in admin, you can copy the manual update instructions from this file to a different document to follow.
As far as resetting the pass we do not assist with this as is denoted directly in the setting then choosing to put a password there. but you can send us an note using our contact form ( click our user name) for pointers on doing so.
If you do happen to put the correct pass in it will unlock for you though. There is currently no limit on attempts. the setting details to backup and store the pass before setting it so perhaps you have it stored somewhere?
Ok cheers for this. I cant find the password. If I uninstall and re install the plug in and start again, will this allow me to set a different one?
Yes, ..unless you set the additional option to not allow this.
Hi! I would like to delete ALL form entries upon submission. Is there a way to set this as the default for all forms rather than listing out form IDs in the settings?
I would actually also like to remove IP and add encryption to all fields for ALL forms, but I think I can only list the form IDs for each of those options as well? Is there a setting to set encryption, IP removal, and entry deletion globally for all forms and fields?
Hello
You can only set per form to delete entries after submission completion as there is no global option. The rest of the settings would be irrelevant as the entire entries would be deleted.
As I understand it, the entries are briefly stored in the WordPress database during submission and we’d like them to be encrypted while they’re there. So it is the case that the settings for encrypting and removing IP require listing the form IDs as well? Just want to confirm.
Thanks, Ellen
Hello
This is correct. There would be a split second etc before deletion when the data is being processed for notifications , confirmations , and add ons before submission completion. The Encryption would cover your data in this time.
Gravity Forms Encrypted Fields – We have a large site with 10 admin users – can I set only 2 admins to have access to the non-encryted data on a particular form? Ie can the data show as encrypted to all the other admin users I set.
Hello
Yes, you can assign permissions to both individual fields and/or globally by both individual users and/or role.
Just double checking – so I can block an admin level user from accessing?
Hello
If the admins can change the permissions settings due to no other restrictions on their back end abilities, you may need to use a settings page password which is optional to keep them from simply giving themselves access, but yes you can control admins access by this method or disallowing them to “edit users” in their admin abilities (user access control plugins) so they cannot access the settings page.
Hi I need to encrypt users data on my website can you do that?
Hello
Are you inquiring about encrypting registered WP user data? If so, you could encrypt it on intake when using a gravity firm to register a user, but it would then become useless to WP since WP cannot directly decrypt it and would therefore not be able to use it . It would only be decryptable in gravity forms. For this reason we do not suggest encrypting WP user data. However Form data that is merely associated with a particular user and NOT directly used as WP user data can be encrypted bybb Bthis plugin and and accessed/ used by the user via a plugin such as gravity view.
Hello,
I purchased this plugin for a client. They felt it added more complication than it was worth, and it always caused problems with BCC in Gravity. They aren’t going to use it.
Can we get a refund?
Thanks
Hello
While solutions do exist, we are happy to issue a refund. However authors do not directly issue refunds. You can and must request it through your envato account for the purchase where the purchase was made.
When I add FaceBooks Pixel Plugin, GravityForms stops working. Disable your plugin, and it all works. Conflict between your plugin and FB’s. Are you aware of this? FB Pixel tracking is becoming more and more requested on my client sites.
Hello
Are there any particular php notices/errors/warnings to report from your configuration? Are you running the latest plugin versions (ours is 5.7.71) ?
Hello,
I manage several different accounts and accidentally clicked the wrong one to purchase this plugin, which charged the wrong customers card :/ Is it possible to cancel this order please and refund the purchase? I’ll place the order again from the correct account.
Thanks much,
Philip
Hello
You must request a refund through your envato account for the purchase. From there we can approve approve fulfillment .
Before I go live (license is on dev environment now) and want to move the license to the live domain I just deactivate the current license in admin > plugin settings and reactivate It on the new domain?
Hello
Yes you can deactivate the license from the settings page under the licensing setting up top.
