- it is saved in the user profile and can be accessed via the admin area (Users -> user name -> user profile page)

Could you try switching theme? It might be the cause of the issue as well. Please try also giving a look at the browser error console. There could be some javascript errors that prevent the plugin libraries to be properly executed by the browser and then properly render the page.
As you can see from the demo site, the plugin, in a clean installation works without any issue. So it is quite strange that in your installation it is not working.

Il problema riscontrato molto probabilmente dipende da un interferenza di un plugin terze parti. Purtroppo, però, senza maggiori informazione è difficile fornirti una soluzione.
Prova a disabilitare tutti i plugin e prova ad accedere nuovamente alla pagina configurazione. Se non riscontri nessun errore, prova a riabilitare i plugin uno per uno finche non trovi quello che genera l’interferenza.

I have used UEF plugin for sometime and very successfully. My site sells both memberships and event tickets. However with more tickets being sold I have had to enable guest checkout (ticket buyers do not need an account) and so the user fields do NOT show on checkout anymore. I would like them to show when purchasing a membership but can NOT see a mechanism to do that. membership overrides guest checkout but the extra fields still do NOT show.
What do I need to do to show the extra fields when memberships are being bought.

I’m sorry, but as reported on the description page, the plugin allows to display extra fields only for registered users. This is because the data is stored on a user profile. Guest users haven’t any profiles, so no data can be stored!
I created a field with key ‘c8’. I can bulk set a value of this field for all existing users? For example, I would like that all users have c8 = 1
I’m sorry, the plugin hasn’t any feature for that. To perform that action, you should eventually perform a MySQL query on the usermeta table by assigning the value you need for every instance of the wpuef_cid_c8 key.

yes, the plugin might fit your needs. The field data is stored in the user meta table, and the key name is wpuef_cid_{id} (the id can be seen in the field configuration page: https://nimb.ws/OePzLw )
You can then eventually bulk import that field for the user you wish using a 3rd party plugin.
The extra field can be also optionally displayed on the user profile page (and eventually made uneditable).
Before, however, any purchase, use the demo site to perform all the tests you need in order to be sure it actually works as you expect.

It might depend on a 3rd party plugin interference. Please try disabling all the others plugins and re-peform a test. If you are not experiecing the issue, re-enable one by one until you find the interfering one.
If even disabling the plugins, you still experiecing the issue, try temporarly switch theme. It might be the cause of the issue.
In Buddypress, is it possible to change the custom field (created by this plugin) visibility to public/private?

503 Error
I installed the plugin….was able to create an extra field
Saw it in the “users” profile page/section and about then I got the 503 error.
inside my cpanel it was overloading my disc usage.
If I remove the plugin via cpanel( when i get locked out of the WordPress admin) the website come back up and “over usage” goes away.
If I can still get to WordPress admin and deactivate the plugin the site come back online as well.
Any help?
I’m sorry, as you can understand without any further clue, it is quite hard to determine the cause of the issue.
From my tests, all works as expected without any issue. Furthermore, no other user reported such an issue. Even the demo site (that is hosted in a cheap shared web hosting service) runs without such an issue.
Could you please use the following site: https://www.codecanyon.eu/wpuef/wp-admin/ (user: demo, pass: demo) to recreate your scenario and report me if you are getting the issue? If so, please report me a step by step guide on how to experience the issue.
Note also, that if you are using a large number of plugins together in a hosting service that hasn’t enough resources, you should eventually consider switching to a more powerful profile. In your case, the issue doesn’t rely on the fact that you are running a specific plugin, but on the fact that your hardware profile is not proper for the software, you are running.

Did you assign a proper value to the $user_id variable? In the code snippet you reported, it seems you have not assigned any value to that variable.

Yes, because in the case of select fields, that number is the index value of the selected option.
Try giving a look at the Retrieve and save field programmatically in the plugin description page. In your case would be better using the wpuef_get_field($field_id, $user_id = null) function rather than directly read the user mtadata.
In your case you can use in the following way:$data = wpuef_get_field($field_id, $user_id); $value = $data->field_options->options[$data->value]; echo value;
That code however is just an example, properly test it and make sure that the $user_id and $field_id variables are properly set.

For that you might use the [wpuef_show_field_value field_id=”” user_id=”“] shortcode. If the user_id is not specified, the shortcode will display the value for the currently logged user that is visiting the page.

Yes, actually the user extra fields are already saved as user meta. They also have an option to be displayed eventually on the checkout page.
You can access the field data by simply read the wpuef_cid_{id} meta key for the user you need, where {id} is the id of the field (that can be read in the field configurator page after creating a field).
Try using the demo site to recreate your scenario to be sure it actually works as you expect and need. Before any eventual purchase.

the plugin allows creating custom fields which value is stored as user metadata into the wp_usermeta table.
So you can eventually perform a custom query according to those values to retrieve the user you need. Metakey name have the following name convention: wpuef_cid_{field_id} where the {field_id} can be retrieved in the field configuration page.
The plugin has also a demo site where you can test it before purchasing. You can perform some tests in order to be sure it actually fits your needs. In case of further info, feel free to ask.

In case you enable the option to copy value on the order, those values are stored in the order metadata. If the API allows the retrieval of the order metadata, the answer is yes.

I would like to use your plugin to allow the customer to add the names of their children to their account. This is easy enough to do, by using your visual composer and then having a text field for them to complete.
I would then however like the customer to be able to select from the list of child names when checking out and assign a name to each product they have purchased. This is because we sell online tutoring and it’s helpful for us to know which child is being registered for a particular tutoring session.
Is the second part possible with your plugin?

I’m sorry but the plugin is only designed to associate the extra field to the user profile, not to products.
Unfortunately adding that feature is not an easy task that could be done in a few lines of code, so there isn’t a simple solution I can suggest to adapt the plugin for that purpose.
You can eventually give a look to this other plugin of mine: WooCommerce Conditional Product Fields at Checkout. It allows creating product fields that will be displayed only at checkout. Note however that there isn’t any option to link the two plugins (retrieve data from the User Extra field plugin to display as options for the product).

The table is the normal wp_usermeta table and the value, if that checkbox is checked is a:1:{i:0;s:4:”true”;} /the value is stored as a serialized array, because the checkbox field can have multiple options).

I just updated, created a new user with the checkbox checked. Then I open my database and run this:
SELECT * FROM `wp_usermeta` WHERE `meta_key` LIKE ‘ wpuef_ ‘
I get several results but the wpuef_cid_c8 was not there.
Then I run this query:
SELECT * FROM `wp_usermeta` WHERE `meta_key` LIKE ‘ wpuef_cid_c8 ‘
But I get cero results.

The configuration is ok, the database save process doesn’t depend on any settings. User values are always stored in the wp_metauser table.
I’ve also performed some tests registering a new user with the checkbox checked, and the metakey is properly created: https://nimb.ws/rASvTg
Make sure you have properly performed the query, if you do, the result should look like https://nimb.ws/Yo9FB4 (I’ve used the same query you reported). Make eventually sure that the table name is correct.
Note that the LIKE might return 0 values. Eventually, use the LIKE operator. Try eventually use the visual “search” function of PhpMyAdmin instead of manually create the query.
