1. you are allowed to change the licensed domain if you move from a dev website to production, however if you start a completely new website after some time then you can not transfer the license, because each license allows you to use the plugin in one unique end product only.

Any chance you will using the coingecko free API as it’s unlimited and free. Don’t like paying for scripts then paying for APIs. If this was to have coingecko I’d buy it.
cryptocompare API has a free plan. We do not plan to switch to coingecko at the moment.

you need to create a realtime database as specified in documentation. After it’s created there should be databaseURL parameter present in the Firebase configuration object.

now the installation worked fine, but plugin frontend keeps loading and does not show the login screen.
You need to provide the firebase config on the settings page.
Copy and paste the Firebase project settings object: Firebase console » Project settings » General » Firebase SDK snippet » Config

purchased however before spending my time on this – do my users need to create a firebase account as well to use this to store data ? as per the docs
“When Firebase authentication is enabled users will be required to log in or sign up before creating any portfolios. Please note that this authentication is different from the native WordPress authentication, so even if user is logged in to your WordPress website separate authentication against Firebase will still be required.”
it is a wordpress plugin i assumed that for my users a wordpress account sufficient ? i was hoping that my users can register on my site and start creating and tracking portfolios is that not the case ?
Hi,
end users do not need a Firebase account, they will use the Firebase DB that you create as part of the installation process. In terms of the authentication process they will use Firebase to sign up and log in (if you enable authentication), otherwise they will use anonymous accounts (that are automatically created in Firebase), but all user and portfolio data is stored in Firebase. WordPress is not used for authentication. Hope it answers your question.

this plugin is not of much use if it doesnt use Wordpress user registration – and even worse if it requires users sign up via Firebase ? please refund me my money
The plugin doesn’t require users to sign up, authentication is optional, you can disable it in the plugin settings. But you are right, the plugin doesn’t use WordPress authentication by design and it’s explicitly stated in the description, so that you can see if that meets your needs or not.
We get an error after going through all the set up documentation 3 different times. “Uncaught (in promise) Error: FIREBASE FATAL ERROR: Can’t determine Firebase Database URL. Be sure to include databaseURL option when calling firebase.initializeApp()”

Just sign up with your email and password or use incognito mode. Coins are added when we release a new version.

I’ve read all the comments and I am curious that is that people find nice about the plugin and I read about all the limitations this plugin?
This is what I found so far; (this is no reflection on the dev. I am a customer on few of the products)
a) the Plugin requires a Google relationship and you need a Credit Card to do that, (google does not give free things) I consider this a major flaw in the thinking when you have a perfect WP db for a work space
b) According to many it seems the plugin does not have good user permission management. In a world where privacy is threatened do you want the world to know your business. (You can say who would want my portfolio crap?, I guess we have to ask JP Morgan or other Portfolio management companies that question?)
c) you give your private date and your asset value to Google! Do you really want to do that with the new FINRA laws the SEC passed in 2020 (all crypto transactions have to be reported to the Financial Crime division of the SEC)
d) I did not hear from the dev. if the will decide or are open minded to allow the WP db as an option instead of using Big Tech Google. (Whether you run pennies or large amounts in your portfolio Big Tech and Uncle Sam will know it, regardless if your values are fake or not, Google is obligated to report it to FINRA and it is not required that you are US citizen, it is required FOR ALL citizens around the world that will use Google)
I know its only a $38 app but more features would be nice even at an extra cost or can the dev offer a custom version pro rata dev cost?
Hi, I’ve been trying the demo but after adding a less known coin the wallet pages keeps loading and nothing shows up. To undo the coin I had to be able to acces the wallet overview but that is not loading so I cannot undo the latest coin and am stuck. I there any other way to remove coins than from the wallet page? Also noticed that when you add a sale it doesn’t show up in the transactions tab.

what coin did you test with? I tried few “penny” coins, but couldn’t reproduce the issue.
Yes, transactions are designed this way, so when you partially close a transaction it reduces the original transaction quantity.

Hello! Love the plugin and have configured all the settings. Firebase is recording the users – but upon login, nothing at all loads. There is just a continuous loading bar – and I feel that perhaps I don’t have the CryptoCompare API configured properly, although that was pretty straight forward except the permissions to set were not clear in the documentation. Can you please advise where I might look to get the portfolio to load? Many thanks

the plugin is compatible with all themes. With this plugin you can create a portfolio and then share the view only link, but the plugin also gives other users the ability to create their own portfolios.

Do the site users (members) will have their portfolio stacked after they logged out of the site and visit the site again. I mean an individual user can access his/her portfolio any number of times after logging-in and logging-out?

Where does the portfolio data is stored, as members data is stored on the wordpress itself If not, How they can be linked?

User login and portfolio data is stored in a Firebase database. It’s a separate database, which is not linked to WordPress. But yes, all user portfolios are remembered and retrieved when user logs in. Please let me know if you have further questions.
