Just checked your website. The problem is a conflict with another map plugin in your site or maybe your theme is loading a Google Maps API. If you’re using another map plugin, deactivate and try again. If your theme is loading its GMaps API, check the settings if there’s any option to deactivate and try again.

Hello, As stated, the points of Interest are those provided by Google Maps. Does this mean I can connect via api and do not have to add any businesses manually? It will be listings that pop up from google? I am aware that I need to purchase the other plugin as well for nearby to function. I am just wondering if a plugin exists where one does not need to manually add the local listings. Thanks.

Hi there, I am interested to buy Nearby Places (also the Progress Map for it to work and i have the below questions: 1) Can i hide some categories ie. Church, Airport etc.? 2) Can i predefine the POI around given address & user location? Ie. we want for example an address to be in city Protaras, Cyprus which must be predefined for all categories to show the relevant places. 3) I have tried your demo by defining the above location: Protaras, Cyprus and when i click on category RESTAURANTS it only show 17 restaurants… When i search in google restaurants in that specific area (search: Protaras Restaurants) i get more than 100 Places… But the plugin on your demo shows only 17… Can you explain why this is happening please? If i can show all that google has listed or i have to select which ones i want to show? You can hide businesses/places by type. For example, you can hide all Hotels from the map but you can’t hide a specific hotel.

Hi,
Unfortunately this will not be possible. You need to have the coordinates saved as post meta, then, from the shortcode, you can specify the ID of the post to the display. The plugin will then get that post coordinates from the database and use them on the map. That’s how this plugin works.

Thank you for your reply. I already have the coordinates saved as post meta using the ACF plugin. This is how the information looks like:

In this case, yes, you can use the plugin with your ACF custom field. To syncronize ACF with “Progress Map”, you’ll have to add a custom PHP code in the file “functions.php” of your theme. I will send you the code you need after you purchase the plugin. Another thing, please note that “Nearby Places” is an extension of “Progress Map” and you’ll have to use both of them in your website.

It is so sad to see not getting a support for almost over a month. We keep asking you to fix the issue we faced and you asked us to provide you login credentials of our site and we provided you via email and here we are nothing fixed and no response from seller for almost a month. We are using the default nearby map and there is no option “Auto complete setting”. If we want to use the nearby map, how can we restrict the address field to specific country?
We did not create a new map in the progressive map section yet.
The autocomplete settings doesn’t work with the nearby map.
I’ve just compleated adding support for the autocomplete settings to nearby map and the updates will be available later this week.

Do you know if anyone is using it in conjuction with WPGeodirectory.com’s platform?
As an example, here are listings on their demo site in Pennsylvania:

If that plugin uses two custom fields to save the post coordinates (Latitude & Longitude custom fields), then yes, you’ll be able to use “Nearby places” in your website but please note that this is an add-on of the main plugin “Progress Map” and you’ll have to use both of them.

Just got back to this project.
I tried other Nearby Places plugins today and several “well know” ones that have “basic”/free version available via WP’s search for plugins option “blew up” the functionality of our WPGeodirectory-based site.
Can I pay you to log in to our site, do a quick install of them, make sure they don’t similarly impact our site and then buy them if you are happy they don’t conflict (and keep both the purchase price and the modest install fee)?
Alternatively, if I buy your plugins and they have the same effect can I get a refund?
I really hope they work for our purposes so whatever works best for you, works for me.
