Ahh thank you for letting me know. I’ll increase the Max Input Vars. Also, right now it seems to be not working on schedule. The logs show “WP_Query did not return any eligible posts.” but if I click on the “Run Once” button it works.

Interesting. It sounds like it is working on schedule, but the permissions aren’t available via cron as when you are admin. Can you PM me the details of your Post Conditions? Especially anything custom added by another plugin or theme. It’s possible their custom code is only available via admin.

Update for anyone else: It was the WPML plugin which would hook into the post query filter and only return posts defined for the current language. Since the language was undefined during the cron run, WPML returned empty query results each time. WAP now has an option to suppress this filter if you have any plugin that interferes in a bad way.

I’ll take a look at this next week and see what can be done.

Note for anyone else:

Better Search plugin only supports front end searches, not back end admin searches.

Relevansii plugin works great with WAP. Just select Relevansii option that makes it work with back end admin searches.

WPSearch plugin is outdated and crashes site. Avoid.

Yes you can have a Ruleset for each. As many as you want.

Hello. This plugin doesn’t import articles from news sites, but let’s you automatically handle post content however you like. In your case, WAP can search posts with certain keywords and you can move them to draft or trash or change the categories and tags. Things like that, and you can schedule it to run as often as you want. Hope that helps.

Hello, cron needs to be triggered before it can check for scheduled events. If you’re using the WordPress default virtual cron, a page must be loaded first before cron will trigger.

I’ve been playing with your live demo and it appears great! My only concern is whether it’s possible for posts to miss their schedule? I’ve also been running tests at 1m intervals and I’ve noticed that it adds a few seconds every time. Reflecting my original request, this could become problematic and noticeably off my 00:00 schedule after a few weeks of daily scheduling?

Yes WAP can do what you want – 1 Ruleset for publishing and 1 Ruleset for ‘unpublishing’ would work fine.

Events are triggered when the cron is checked. By default WordPress uses a ‘virtual cron’ that is checked whenever a page is loaded. This means an event scheduled for 9:00am might be triggered later if there is no visitor to load a page until 9:05am or whatever. If you need exact times, you can turn the virtual WordPress cron off and use a real server cron that is based on time, such as every 5 minutes.

WAP can be used to modify post details like type, status, author, date, etc. You could use a simple hook to change the post description to whatever you want. Could you give more details?

Sure. I have a variable product that changes at 5pm every Thursday. I just want to specify a few lines of the new updated text that will overwrite the old content at that specified time.

It’s a single post description that changes every Thurs 5pm? It’s rather specific so I think a hook and a few lines of a code snippet would do exactly what you want. Is the new updated text auto-generated or do you specify what it will be each week?

You can update posts without changing the publish date, but whether your software will send push notifications off of the update is unknown to me.

Hello, John. Upon buying this plugin, I created a ruleset to update my posts beginning from the oldest to the newest. However, the plugin updated only the oldest post again and again. Then, I changed the settings by enabling the recycle mod. This time, it republished the oldest post changing the post date although post date was set to “keep time”.

Hello, if you don’t change the publish date, the oldest post will always be the oldest post. Recycling posts uses the Post Recycling settings when the Post Conditions are not met, so the Post Actions do not apply. Recycling posts means old posts are made new again by updating their post date. Feel free to PM me with exactly what you are trying to do and I can help.

Hello, if you want WAP to post every 20 min, you’ll need your cron to be checking for events every 5, 10, or 20 min so your 20 min event frequency is matched. Checking every 15 mins means your 20 min event frequency won’t be checked until 30 min has passed. Feel free to send a PM with your log so I can see details.
