Thank you for writing to us. Once you have connected with the mailchimp, you shall choose the mailchimp list in which the subscription will be added in the general settings of the form. Can you please check if you have checked any of the list there? Please refer to below screenshot for an easy reference.

But I have a question about the email valid, when I test, I put a incomplete false email like “johnrambo@gmail” without any valid extension and it’s ok for the plugin, the door is open!
How can I be sure that the email is always valid?

Thank you for writing in. The download is sent in the email. So if anyone subscribe with any invalid email, they will not get the download link. That is the basic mechanism. Can you elaborate how the download is occurring on your end? And if feasible please provide us the URL of the page where you have kept our form.

Hello the plugin looks great.
However I have activated the subscription option in a post, it shows me the pop-up with the form but if I click outside the form I can already see the content of my page and my idea was to block my page until I subscribe.
Is this functionality possible?

Hello there,
I bought the plugin yesterday and I am having trouble connecting the form with my mailchimp list. Although it looks connected and the API is set, the new subscribers don’t appear in my mailing list, actually only one appeared completely randomly… Another issue I am having is that in the email setting, if I add an apostrophe, save, close and open the setting again I see forward slashes instead of the space… see here: https://snipboard.io/XETquv.jpg

Thank you for your reply. If log is not stored then it means the subscription is not being sent to mailchimp.
The mailchimp list that is fetched shall be listed in the general settings too but as per the screenshot provided, we couldn’t see the list there. Can you please try once by renewing the list? If still that doesn’t list the mailchimp list in the general settings of the form then please provide us your site temporary login details in the contact form available in the below link.

I am really not comfortable providing login details as I had a bad experience in the past, is there another you can fix this?

Thank you for your reply. We needed to check directly in your site because we couldn’t replicate this issue in our development server. But still we do understand your privacy concerns.
If feasible then we can use anydesk or teamviewer software to check the issue directly from your PC by connecting through remote.

I’ve updated the plugin and it did make my list appear in the General setting however it is still not connecting to mailchimp. The log is still empty. I have also renewed the list, reset it, enabled-disabled nothing worked.
On the positive side, the slash problem was solved!

You should update the ‘Subscribe to download’ plugin, and have the download link expire after a certain amount of time. Have an option so they can only download it once or three times maybe. I would love a pay option and the ability to host these files somewhere else. Some ideas to think about. Other than that, I love this plugin. So far it works =)

I’m writing because yesterday (BEFORE your latest upgrade) I noticed that somehow my content hasn’t been blocked by the plugin.
So I started to see what’s going on. Here is what I’ve found:
1. installed the latest version today and the problem still exists 2. I only use Popup page locker by Enabling the Subscribe to Unlock plugin – now when I preview it in the same browser (Safari) it’s OK. However… 3. When I view Chrome browser (mac) the same page is NOT blocked. 4. When I view on iPhone Safari it is NOT blocked.

I think there was a similar question, but the wording was unclear, so I’ll go ahead and ask: if I have perhaps 5 forms each with a download, can someone use the same email address to respond to all 5 of those forms in order to download? It sounded like (in another question) that using the same email more than once wouldn’t work. Thanks in advance!

I want to report a possible bug in the “custom” option on the form.
It seems a lot confusing to know what options we are changing, even if they are named.
For example, I tried to change the submit button color, but when I changed the color, nothing happened. I was testing the options and found it only changes the color of the button text, activated when I choose “Popup Display” in “layout settings”. So, I can’t change any of the colors or options for the “Direct Display”.
A suggestion: Label every option with an explanation, so users can choose wisely and surely what they want to change.
I found that the Layout 22 is buggy, not showing the correct colors. The button is shown in blue and the text too, but a little different variation.
Tried using the css field, but didn’t work. What is the class name? Tried to F12 and use the class there, but didn’t work.
It would be nice to customize the borders of the button as well, making it round or else. More options, I mean.
Will I be able to customize the actual button or other things in the form? Or am I doing something wrong?

We checked the individual custom option for new templates and old templates and couldn’t find any reported issues. Since the option label are not much complicated and shows the direct difference in the form with the colors so we haven’t added any extra description assuming that it is direct clear.
But still if you are confused then let us know with the exact option and we can make you clear. And we do have the documentation too which you can follow in case of any confusion.
Since we couldn’t replicate the described issues on our end so can you please explain us with a screenshot or a video so that we could try with exact option that you are trying if in case we are missing anything.

I could use some help on the following problem:
When I encrypt a download link and send the e-mail, the download link is redirecting to the home page of my website. The only way to download it is on Chrome or Opera. If I use other browsers, the download redirects to the home page. I sent the e-mail to other people so they could test it and all of them reported the same thing.

Thank you contacting us again. This is happening because of encryption of link. For preventing users from sharing the download URL, the link is encrypted which means the users will only be able to download through the encrypted link from any browsers if they have subscribed through same browser.
So if you have subscribed through firefox and clicked the encrypted download link from the same browser then only the download works else it will just open home page. That is actually the main purpose of encryption of link so that the link cannot be shared.

If someone doesn’t have that browser or it’s acessing from somewhere else, the person cannot download the file!
In my understanding, it shouldn’t be encrypted randomly every time? That should solve the question!
This actually doesn’t help at all. It’s better to use it decrypted, so anyone can use it normally.

Yes the link won’t open if same person access the link from other device but programatically there won’t be any specific clue to check if that is the same person who has already downloaded or not.
And also that is the only way to prevent from direct link sharing. If a single person subscribes and then he will forward the same email to other person then they will also be able to download without subscribing. That is the main purpose of the link encryption. But if you think that is being limitation for the subscriber then that is main reason we have added it as an option in the backend which can be surely disabled
And also if you really have some other logic which will make sense technically then please let us know and we will surely implement it

Answer: For marketing purposes, an user typing e-mail again to download a file multiple times, is simply not worth it. They would rather just flee.

Yes, That would be ok:
instant download and double optin confirmation download, both as options. The first one is risky, but quite good in some cases and the second, immediately after confirmation, the file would be downloaded.
That way, in some cases, we wouldn’t need to configure and send an e-mail with the “download link”. It’ll speed up the process, and open a variety of possibilities.
