I uploaded both of the “File” and “PDF” embed plugins.
And when I try to click on any of the links within the admin interface, nothing happens.

What is the difference between this and the other PDF embed plugin you have ?

As concerns the PDF Viewer plugin, we intend to add the option of letting users choose a viewer they’d like to use, in order to provide the best experience of viewing PDF files on a website.
As for File Embed, its main characteristic is its flexibility, We will keep working on it to make it works with various types of files.

Unfortunately, the activation code is not provided for items downloaded from Envato Elements. The activation code is basically the purchase code you get when you purchase a license on CodeCanyon, so to get one you need to purchase a regular license.
However, the activation is only required to give you access to automated updates and support, but it doesn’t affect the functionality in any way. So you’re very welcome to use the plugin without activating it!

And another – very important question – is any possibility to disable pop-out button from Google viewer (top right corner of embed file). I want to give the possibility to look through only… I know – that is from google iframe, and it is not easy – but possible. Please – insert that JS, that will hide google’s div ndfHFb-c4YZDc-Wrql6b inside iframe… This is VERY needed.

Yes, you’re correct, the option of having the files being downloadable is browser-related behavior. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do on the side of the plugin to change this.

The question – how to embed the pdf from the link? thete is no such option… Wen I click at the field files – the only option : upload and it links direct to the media library. There is no any google, link and so on… I use BE theme – latest version.

your plugin looks really nice. I have 2 questions : 1/what about the privacy of the documents, I see it’s a google library. 2/do you plan to make the preview opening in a modal instead of opening in a new window?
Also, 3/ the grey bg color can be customized or removed? 4/ on mobile there is a huge padding, tried to look with firebug but it seems difficult to custom globally

The option of opening the preview in the modal is not supported yet, but you’re very welcome to add it to our wishlist – https://wishlist.elfsight.com/. Popular features will get implemented first, so submit yours and vote for other features you like.
The grey background color cannot be removed, because this is what Google docs returns to us.
And would it be an option for you to send us a screenshot of what you see on mobile?

1/ I think you didn’t understand my question. I was asking : it’s an iframe of a google viewer. Are my documents safe or is it shared with google ? What privacy warranties do you have from google ? I want ot use your plugin for an extranet, private.

The files added to our plugin open in Google Viewer by a public link. They are not shared in any kind of way, but in order for the plugin to work with your documents, the link has to be publicly available. Unfortunately, our plugin won’t work with private extranet.

Hello. Can I set a custom file-folder (for all files) and can I upload it by FTP or must I use the WordPress media-upload system?
I down’t like the WordPress media system. He basically use the upload-date as sort indicator. And than its uploaded in the “wp-content” file. I find it’s not nice. A smart file link is for example ”/upload/...” or ”/team/...” and not ”/wp-admin/uploads/2019/03/...” or ”/wp-content/uploads/...” by my opinion.

Bookshelf option: I have a question as i purchased it and i have many files so the best way to organize is to do the bookshelf the instructions are very basic so the pdf’s will have to be upload to media library corrct? and for each book or document i have to create a widget? i mean i have many files. We’ve checked with the development team, and it turns out that a click on a file should in fact open it. However, there’s a glitch on the side of the plugin that makes it download instead of opening. We’ll have it fixed in the shortest possible time, and we’ll publish the update with the fix as soon as it’s ready.

The issue with downlading a file instead of opening it was fixed.
And files do have to be uploaded to media library before you can use them in the plugin. You can add several files to one widget, or create several different widgets. Your user license allows you to do this, for as long as all the widgets are installed on one website.

Well I did follow the instructions and the short code didn’t work either it didn’t show on the front end
The question was actually on the response regarding the bookshelf layout that shows on the example but. There is no option on the settings for this view how you do that?

Here’s what you need to do to recreate the bookshelf template:
1. Go to Content tab of the plugin’s settings, and add the files you need. Click on each file to upload preview images.
2. Go to Layout tab and select Grid layout. Next, click on Preview Image Settings and set the right size for the preview images. On the same tab, please, set the width to 1400.
3. Go to Styles tab and set the required background color.

Do any of the file types have file size limitations? 10mb? 50mb?
