Hi I have few questions
im looking for a system where the file is uploaded into the website, and if I edit it on my desk top it automatically updates the file on the website. without uploading it again. is this possible.
the other options will be google drive.
is this plugin compatible with Google drive? what I mean is can the a google drive file be embedded? and if it does embed. if we update the file in google doc will it update the file on our website.

It happen only on first 2 pdf files, word and excel load fine

I would like to see a clear explanation with screenshots of the backend, or a working backend demo. Frontend looks fine, but backend is a black box right now.

When you add the plugin to your webpage, your visitors will only the right part, the one with the file preview. The left part is the settings tab and it’s only visible in the plugin’s editor in the backend. So, the backend shows what you see in the demo, and on the frontend only the right part with the preview of the files is displayed.

Looks like all files are uploaded to the web page that the widget is installed on. My question is security. Can only certain people upload files or can anyone upload a file to that web page? How is this handled?

The only person who’ll be able to upload the files to the widget is you as the site’s admin. When you add the plugin to your webpage, your visitors will only the the right part, the one with the file preview. Hi guys, would this plugin work with Buddypress? I am looking for a way that BP users can add PDF to groups or their activity feed and the files can be just seen as if you use Whatsapp, just click the file and open within a need of downloading it.

Here’s what you can do as a workaround, in the meantime. You can create different widgets, and use them as folders with files grouped by the theme. You can then install the widgets to the corresponding pages of your website.

Hi, In your demo for example bookshelf it looks for me you have use grid view style and this can view the files and also download the files but if i set it up like this on me it only download the files it can not view the files both in chrome and firefox?

Hi I meant: where one can view the pdf content by clicking on the image and where one can download the file by clicking on the link: download. I don’t see your demo page going now, but when I wrote the comment it was possible to do it from your demo page.

We’ve checked with the development team, and it turns out that a click on a file should in fact open it. However, there’s a glitch on the side of the plugin that makes it download instead of opening. We’ll have it fixed in the shortest possible time, and we’ll publish the update with the fix as soon as it’s ready.

These plugins are very similar, as both of them were designed to display files on your website.
As concerns the PDF Viewer plugin, we intend to add the option of letting users choose a viewer they’d like to use, in order to provide the best experience of viewing PDF files on a website.
As for File Embed, it’s main characteristic is its flexibility, We will keep working on it to make it works with various types of files.

when I am using your demo (Win10 with Edge and Chrome), PDF files that show as thumbnails (e.g., restaurant menu), are downloaded instead of displayed.

Our plugin’s preview in the demo opens in an iframe, and due to security reasons, browsers download PDF files inside of an iframe, instead of opening them. When you’ll install the plugin to your website, it will open your files.
