Hi. I want to buy this module but I want to know If i’ll be able to put different meta titles for different categories. You know that native prestashops grabs meta title in category and adds prestashop shop name. I want to quit prestashop shop name BUT only in categories I want. So i don’t know if i’ll be able to put specific meta titles for each category.

Prestashop always adds itself in categories and homepage ”- shop name” in addition to any meta title. Seo Manager does not remove this text at runtime. Yes, it is normal from Prestashop point of view! For some reason Prestashop developers have decided to append the name of the shop at the end of all the meta tags. It is the default Prestashop behaviour. You could verified at https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/blob/1.6/classes/Meta.php for example. Welcome to the world of consumerist. Since the beginning, Prestashop core database structure has not changed for product, category, supplier, manufacturer, customer, order, etc…. Since 3 years, prestashop is changing smarty to twig and adding Symfony. All done partially so far. Only the theme structure has changed and broke the compatibility between PS 1.6 and PS 1.7. I think I have found my problem. In the early days of PS1.7 I had set up my products etc as being USA language (id_lang=1). Later my UK lang was added (id_lang=2) and USA lang was deleted. However the USA lang products and categories were not deleted from the database. So I still have 2 sets of products and categories. For some reason SEO Manager has picked up the US lang products and categories and changed the meta data. I am however unable to change lang in SEO Manager to id_lang=2 (even though this is the only language). Please advise.

Hello i just bought module and all i can say it does not working. I use default presta theme 1.6 an there is no changes with Title i use {PRODUCT_NAME}-{PRODUCT_PRICE} but it shows only “Title 28 characters — optimal. Gypsy Tomato Seeds > test1.6” also with 1.7.4.3 default theme same problem. What now? Regards
there is also problem with price, i have euro and english language and your module make it like serbian dinar and not euro “Meta description 71 characters — average. Most optimal 160 – 300 characters. You will also see that is new fresh installed prestashop 1.7 with original default theme. I can not wait that you fix all issues i am not your test person. Hello, I have spent few hours to configure our module SEO Manager within both your Prestashop 1.6 and 1.7 demo website. And it appears to me that the module works and you are probably miss-using it. First of all, I had to reduce the length of the short description field on your product pages as most of them were beyond the allocated length. I am pretty sure that you did a manual import. Please check the products with the IDs: 1121 and 1023 for example. After that the module started to work as implemented.
There was no issue with your Prestashop 1.7 website. Please check the meta tags in the product page directly in your backend not in the front end; if they don’t match you would need to clear your cache. SEO Manager does not do that for you.
For your Prestashop 1.6 demo website: you have got 1190 products. For the product pages only, SEO Manager would have to generate 2×1190 new values per languages and 9×2 x 1190 for all your languages. that’s lot of operation to compute!!! I am sorry to say that your host is not powerful enough to handle such a huge load. I recommend that you setup a CRON job. Please read our user guide at https://www.onasus.com/prestashop-seo-module-user-guide-part-3/ to figure out how to configure a CRON task to execute SEO Manager.

You have got 1190 products. Your machine cannot handle such a huge load of operations. It means 9×2×1190 = 19 040 updates in the database.
Please use the CRON job. You can see the URL for the CRON job at the top of the form for the Meta tag configuration. Copy the link, go to you Cpanel and add a new task please. If you provide me with an access to your cpanel, I will be able to configure it for you.

You don’t need to check the result outside of your backend. My only one reference is what is display on the product edition page. Could you please confirm that SEO Manager works for your product 1121 and 1023?
And i am talking about test store 1.7 where are only 8 products and your module do not change anything on front end there are no changes, that i am talking to you. If the module does not work with 19 products fresh instaled PrestaShop wit default theme, how will be then working with 1190 products? With several hundreds of products, I recommend a cron job.
You don’t want to lose existing meta tags! Then the module allows you to tick a box to enable overriding. Yes, this is the default behaviour of the module not a bug. That is a security feature.

So far I can see it is the only problem with Product pages, the module does not write in Product pages “product description short” “Cena je za 500 grama ovog zacina – {PRODUCT_PRICE} – {PRODUCT_DESC_SHORT}” i did not tessted other, only Product pages. PS i tested without cron job on 151 products. BIG ISSUE wit module that i had 160 charachters in “seo meta description”, after runing your module i get only “Cena je za 500 grama ovog zacina – {PRODUCT_PRICE}” and not “Cena je za 500 grama ovog zacina – {PRODUCT_PRICE} – {PRODUCT_DESC_SHORT}” also your module have shorted my seo meta description to “Cena je za 500 grama ovog zacina – {PRODUCT_PRICE}” to 51 characters from 160 characters
Can you fix this issue?
