If you are having an Internal Server Erro or 500 Server Server error while trying to import contacts. I finally got time to troubleshoot it. This is the fix that worked for me.
This is the likely cause: “mod_fcgid: HTTP request length 139264 (so far) exceeds MaxRequestLen (131072)”
Edit “fcgid.conf” file, depending on your linux version could be located in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ or /etc/apache2/mods-available/
Set FcgidMaxRequestLen and FcgidMaxRequestInMem with the same values (I used 16777216) and then restart Apache.
If those (2) Lines are missing, add them as seen below.
FcgidMaxRequestLen 16777216

I understand you say its coming from my server, but with it being your software… Would you at least have any direction to point me in. I see from the comments that others have had this same issue.

Well, everytime when there’s something we can fix, we do provide fixes, but in this case, unfortunately there is nothing we can do since it isn’t an issue with the app but with the server, the error you get is created by your web server before even the request reached our app. Since we do not offer server support, that is up to you and your hosting.
Try to add more resources to your server, switch from apache with php-cgi to nginx with php-fpm, etc, this really is not our concern simply because our support does not cover such things.

As i told you in tickets, the 500 error comes directly from your server, mailwizz is not even executed, so that’s where you should look at, the server. There’s no magic method, just take this issue to your hosting and they should be able to fix it.

Interested in buying your software but need to know a few things before:
FORMS - Do you guys have a default drop down with Cities, States & Countries? If not, is it possible to bulk add them quickly without having to manually add each one? That would be extremely time consuming
- Are there detailed analytics on who opened the emails, from where and what segments?
- Can you easily move emails from segment to segment?
- How can I test the options that you guys offer for forms? The demo does not let me create a campaign and try out the form creator.
I tried the free Mautic software, but performance of dropdown field with cities and countries were extremely slow and pauses randomly, which will make customers bounce and not fill out themailing form. Hopefully your software doesnt also behave this way because of too many form drop down options.
Please advise as soon as possible.

Cities / States / Countries – we have dependent dropdowns, that is, you get a dropdown with all countries, pre-populated, and when you select a country we show all it’s states.
Analitycs – Yes, we have very detailed stats.
Segment Move – In mailwizz segments are just conditions applied to custom fields, so if you want to move a subscriber to another segment, just change it’s custom field value, it’s super easy and efficient in this way.

Hey buddy, thanks for the quick response. Looks excellent. Two last questions
- Is it possible to default a form field selection such as country? (ie: United states) - Is it possible to organize subscribers by location? For example, if i collect data via the embed form on a website, can i automatically send each subscriber to a specific list based on the city and state that they choose so that i can send targeted emails to that same city and state in the future? Wouldnt want to send an email to 10k of all subscribers if only 1,000 are closest to a city/state (ie: Texas)
Basically id like to know if its possible to easily target subscribers by location at anytime to send an email.

Yes it is possible to set a default, see the page again now, US is selected.
Related to organisation of subs, you can simply send all your subscribers in a list and then simply create segments to match them when you want to send them campaigns, i.e: create a segment for all subscribers having the state set to Texas.

I just bought your script today, installed correctly on my site and created customer, subscribers and all basic requirements. Now i am having trouble in few things I hope you can help me out in same and suggest some good options to go for. 1. I am using a shared hosting and my primary domain is not the one I use for my email services. I use gmail gsuit for my email services. I added the primary domain smtp details of hosting in bounce servers. and checked the scrore in mail tester but there my dkim score was not valid. I think i should use sendgrip api to send emails so 3. I added sendgrid api in delivery server.but dont know what to add in bounce server as testing email again shows the same dkim score less. can you guide how can i solve my issues and get emails right in the inbox without marked myself as a spammer

Generally speaking, sending through gmail / yahoo / etc is really a bad idea, they will block the sending account really fast, this is why using a 3td-party service makes more sense in this case if you don’t have your own smtp server.
Now, related to sendgrid, if you create a delivery server of type sendgrid web api, then mailwizz will process the bounces automatically for you, no need to add a bounce server. Just go in the edit page for the sendgrid server and press the INFO button in that page (top right side) and follow the instructions. Sendgrid also requires you to validate your sending domain, add dkim records and so on, so make sure you follow all their suggestions.

Thank you for your quick reply after adding api to the mailwizz script when i clicked on domain authenticaion I am having trouble. I am using hostgator as my hosting and godaddy as my domain.I added the dns records in my simple dns zone for the domain i am using for sending emails in my hosting account at hostgator but the validation is being failed.
