Hi Szabi – Thanks for refining dates display on the plugin.
I can get events from the plugin, but I’m really struggling to make the geo-targetting work, so that I only search for items from a particular place or area. Can you give some examples of input “in speech marks” (for example, is the address “New York”, “Newyork” or “new york”? Or do I need a smaller address (please give an exact example), Is New York’s latitude entered “40.7128° N” or just “40.7128” or is “40.71” acceptable? Finally, what other check boxes might cancel out or interfere with geo-targetting?
thanks, Mark
Hello,
I checked and I found an issue with rule parameters. I fixed it in the latest update, 1.0.2. Please update the plugin and check.
You can test the results generated by the api, if you use the API tester from here: https://www.eventbriteapi.com/v3/events/search/?q=theater&location.address=new+york&token=YOUR_TOKEN
Please replace YOUR_TOKEN from the above link, with your ‘EventBrite ‘Personal OAuth Token’’. It will help you get correct results from the API.

Hi,
Your plugin is fantastic! I have a question regarding the url generate in each scraped event. What is the aff=ebapi a the end ? And how to manage affiliate programs ? Kind regards
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
As far as I know, on Eventbrite, you can join their affiliate program only if you are invited by an event organizer. More info, here: https://www.eventbrite.com/referrals-attendees
To be honest, I am not sure why is the aff=ebapi parameter at the end of the link. I think it is used internally at Eventbrite to let them know that the link was generated by the Eventbrite API.
However, I just contacted Eventbrite support and asked them about the aff=ebapi parameter from the end of the link. Let’s see what will be their response.

Hello,
Eventbrite support responded to my question:
HERE IS MY QUESTION:
Hello,
Congrats for the API, it is really great.
I have a question: I saw that all links imported thru the API have an URL parameter at their end: ?aff=ebapi – can you tell me, please, for what is this used?
How can I use my own affiliate ID to earn commissions? I understood from your docs that I can get into affiliate programs only with an invitation from the event organizer.
Let me know these, please.
Thank you. Regards, Szabi.
AND HERE IS THEIR ANSWER:
Hello Kisded,
Thanks for the email – I’d be happy to provide guidance here!
To get started, you’ll need a personal OAuth token and application (APP) key. From there, you can log in to your Eventbrite account to integrate with our API.
If you’re interested in developing an app using the Eventbrite API, but are a subuser, you’ll notice you don’t have access to an App Management within your account to request an application key. In this case, connect with the main account holder that granted you access to their events. They can request this information and provide to you. Tip: You can also request they remove you as a subuser so you can create your own account and, as the main account holder, access App Management to request an application key. Also, to learn about the popular apps we’ve partnered with, check out our App Directory!
All that being said, in regards to your questions about the affiliate program, this program is setup by individual organizers and an invitation to join their programs will have to be sent by them. For more information on this topic, please see THIS article from our Help Center.
I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, be sure to search our Help Center for the fastest answers. Of course, we’re here for you if you need further assistance, so don’t hesitate to contact us.

THEY GAVE A GENERIC ANSWER, NOT POINTING OUT THE EXPLANATION FOR THE ?aff=ebapi PARAMETER. IF YOU WISH, I CAN ASK THEM AGAIN ON THIS.
Hi – I like this Eventbrite plugin. My problem is that the date displays in this format: 2018-05-12T11:00:00 (rather than: 12 May 2018, 11am). Also, I cannot seem to display the venue (the address for the event that comes on Eventbrite’s own listing page). Can you be of any help in fixing these?
thanks, Mark
Hello,
Thank you for your appreciation for my work.
I have updated the plugin to v 1.0.1 -> added in the ‘Main Settings’ a new settings field named ‘Date Format For Date Shortcodes’. With it, you can control how you wish to display the date. In your case, you should fill this with:
j F Y, g:i a
Regarding the venue name, Eventbrite API does not return me relevant information regarding the venue. I have checked, and all the info that is returned thru the api, can be accessed using the shortcodes available in the plugin:
%custom_html %, %custom_html2 %, %random_sentence %, %random_sentence2 %, %item_description %, %item_content %, %item_content_plain_text %, %item_read_more_button %, %item_url %, %item_show_image %, %item_image_URL %, %item_date %, %item_title %, %item_start_date_local %, %item_start_date_utc %, %item_start_date_timezone %, %item_end_date_local %, %item_end_date_utc %, %item_end_date_timezone %, %item_organization_id %, %item_created_date %, %item_changed_date %, %item_capacity %, %item_status %, %item_currency %, %item_tx_time_limit %, %item_locale %, %item_privacy_setting %, %item_source %, %item_is_free %, %item_version %, %item_logo_id %, %item_organizer_id %, %item_venue_id %, %item_category_id %, %item_subcategory_id %, %item_format_id %, %item_full_logo_url %

PS: If you enjoy the plugin, please give it a rating, it is really appreciated.
Will this works with Rally too: https://www.eventbrite.com/rally/
Hello,
I haven’t seen any reference to rally in the EventBrite API, so, i think the answer is no. But i check on this.
