Hello,
Created a file upload field which i need available on the Checkout page.
Getting a file not found error once an order is processed. It looks to work when you go through the order process on the front end, however, when I go into the customers MyAccount or in the backend there is an image not found error.
Note: it works if I upload the file in the Myaccount screen or the Admin users page. Just not being uploaded correctly on the Checkout page.
I’ve tried on three installs: - my local version - my development copy on my hosting - disabling all plugins (aside from woo commerce and user extra fields) - set up a new, blank wordpress/woocommerce install using the storefront theme with only your plugin installed.
Having the same issue for each scenario.
Error on checkout: PHP Warning: rename(xxxx):No such file or directory
and error when viewing the file in the backend: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found on the getimagesize() function.
Can you please help? ( I’ve direct messaged you the login details).
Thanks, Ben
Hi Ben,
I got your private message. I’ll answer directly there!
Hi i been using this plugin for a couple of months now, and now we need to have some new features where customer can attach an image in their profile, and when they do this it will send an email to the admin for notification.
I have try the upload file, but it will only show a text link to show the image uploaded, can this be displayed in account details page?
I see similar plugin with yours has the features for conditional fields, do you have plan on having this features?
Thanks
Hi,
thank you for your suggestion. I’ve added a new option for upload field that now allows you to display a preview of the already uploaded image. You will find it in the extra field options.
I hope you enjoy
Thank you for a fast response, how about the notification of the admin for any files uploaded by the customer? Do any way that the admin will know if the customer has uploaded a file,
You’re welcome. For not that feature is not available.
Hi,
I tried to upload a file to a profile. When I pressed “save changes”, my website crashed and the following was displayed:

Could you advise/help please?
Thanks
Hi,
thank you for reporting the issue. I’ve just released the new 12.1 version that fixes it!
You can manually download the new version via codecanyon or receive as automatic update by installing and configuring the Envato updater plugin: https://goo.gl/pkJS33
clear your error log and let me know if you still experience the issue!
Thank you for your response. The update fixed it, awesome job! Thanks
You’re welcome
P. S.
If you enjoyed my support and/or my plugin please consider leaving the 5 stars, I would really appreciate!

Hi, i have some problem when i want to display a calendar , could i send you some screenshot ?
Thank you
Hi,
it could be due to a 3rd party plugin CSS/Javascript interference. Eventually try disabling all of your 3rd party plugins to see if you still experience the issue.
Yes you can share screenshot links here or send me a private message (click on my name then use the low-right box) with your email address. I’ll reply with mine where you can attach the screenshots. Thank you.
Hello,
I create a extra field called “Country”. I need to overwrite the Woocommerce option but I don’t see this field in the select list under “WordPress and WooCommerce overwrite options”, take a look at this capture: https://postimg.cc/image/ganhaw9aj/
Same happens for “state” (Province).
Is there a way to get this?
That option is unavailable for text fields. For that you have to create a Country and State field and you will find the option to overwrite in the bottom: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qzqhszdc2fwpyaa/wpuef_meta_field_id.png?dl=0
Ok, thanks.
Hi, can you help with this?:
1- I am trying to get the fields I already created with your plugin to use in this plugin https://woocommerce.com/products/ordercustomer-csv-export/ This plugin allows to add extra fields using “Meta Field Key”, take a look at my capture: https://bit.ly/2EPoioZ My question is: ¿can I get the ‘meta field key’ for the fields created with your plugin?
Thanks,
Let me know if you need to take a look at the https://woocommerce.com/products/ordercustomer-csv-export/ I can send it to you by email.
I just found this in the comments: “wpuef_cid_{field_id}”. Is this what I need? If so, where do I find the ‘field_id’? Thanks,
Hi,
yes the extra field content is stored in metadata named in that way. The field id is reported in the Extra field admin page. Here an example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qzqhszdc2fwpyaa/wpuef_meta_field_id.png?dl=0
I just tried it, but the data is not imported. Please take a look a this picture: https://postimg.cc/image/aszh0w8mj/
I used this id: wpuef_c77
Let me know if you need to try the plugin in your installation: https://woocommerce.com/products/ordercustomer-csv-export/
I can send it to you by email.
For import problems you should contact that plugin support.
However I think you are just using the wrong metaname. As reported in the previous comment you have to uset the wpuef_cid_c77 metaname not wpuef_c77 metaname.
Then the right key is wpuef_cid_c77, right?
yes, I’ve checked just to be sure. Here am example screenshot of the metadata database: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m7ywu30hojkppz0/wpuef_db.jpg?dl=0
Ok. I can’t get it working. I already contacted the plugin support but they told me that they will give support only for native Woocommerce fields.
thanks anyway…
You’re welcome. Unfortunately it seems that it is unable to import custom user metadata.
Have a good day.
Hello, I’m using https://yithemes.com/themes/plugins/yith-woocommerce-pdf-invoice/ and I want display custom field in PDF Invoice. Is possible? It read value from table postmeta.
Ciao,
$result = wpuef_get_field('c15',$order-> get_customer_id());
echo $result->value;
Dove $order è l’oggetto che rappresenta l’ordine.
Scrivendolo in questo modo il plugin non lavora bene:
<?php $result = wpuef_get_field(‘c15’,$order-> get_customer_id()); echo $result->value; ?>
Sbaglio io qualcosa?
in che senso non lavora bene? Potresti finire maggiori dettagli?
Come faccio a capirlo?
<?php do_action ( ‘yith_pdf_invoice_after_customer_content’, $document, $order_id ); ?>
si, penso allora che lo $order_id sia appunto la variabile che contiene lo id dell’ordine. Prova appunto ad utilizzarlo come segue:
$order = wc_get_order($order_id);
$result = wpuef_get_field('c15',$order-> get_customer_id());
echo $result->value;
Bonjour,
Hello,
The installation of the User Extra Fields plugin does not work. I can not install it with the WordPress download in Extensions >> Add >> “Put an extension online”. I also can not install the plugin by FTP (with FileZilla), it marks me full of errors of the type: Directory / clickandbuilds / inovartcoworking / wp-content / plugins / codecanyon-12949844-user-extra-fields / documentation.assets / css: no such file or directory
Thanking you in advance for your professionalism.
Hello,
it seems you are not properly installing the plugin. It seems you are try to install the whole package (The one including bot the plugin and documentation) wihout properly unzipping it before copying files.
To install a plugin follow this procedure: download the plugin from codecanyon and then unzip it. You will find then a file called wp-user-extra-fields.zip. Go to your Wordpress -> Plugins page and click on the Add new button. Select the wp-user-extra-fields.zip, install and activate it.
Hi, nice plugin but I need the country and domain field for user registration. do you intend to add this option? Thanks.
Hi,
actually there already exist the Country & state field type that allow the user to select a country (and optionally a state) selector on register page.
what concerns the “domain” what do you exactly mean? if you mean a website you coud use the Website field or evene a simple Text field.
I’m using WordPress User Extra Fields v11.8. I read above that you added the csv import option. I have a CSV file with user_id, username and the 2 new fields (wpuef_c2,and wpuef_c6), but when I run the import, nothing is imported. I am using “Import Settings” under “User extra fields” under “Settings”. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Roger
Hi Roger,
the import feature imports fields configuration data and not user field contents. To import data you have a valid .json file. That feature has to be used to import a setting file created by the “Export” button.
If you want to import user extra fields content, you have to use this other plugin of mine WooCommerce Customer Manager. It allows you to import user data that eventually update existing data including user extra fields content.
Thanks. I did buy your other plugin, but what I failed to mention is that I’m trying to update existing users with the 2 new fields. But, since I’m supplying their email addresses, the updates are being rejected as duplicates. Is there an UPDATE /Merge feature?
Yes, the plugin will update the user data if the user already exists. The check is performed on the user id.
so in your case, do not include email address, otherwise the plugin will recognize that email as already existing skipping the user.
Just create a csv containing the user ID and the extra fields you need to import/update. It should work, let me know if not!
I included ID, wpuef_c2, wpuef_c6 fields for 3 records and they did not import,although I did get a successful completion msg.
Make sure that those ids (c2 and c6) are referring to existing files and that the user extra field plugin is active. If you still experience the issue, send me via private message (click on my name then use the low-right box) an admin access to the wp-admin area, a ftp access and the csv file you are trying to import. I’ll perform some tests to see which is the cause of the issue.
I’m receiving the same errors as some other: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. I checked my php and it’s 5.6.32. I can’t put my site in debug mode because we’re currently live and have orders come in. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
I can only advice to:
- Temporarly enable the debug mode activate the plugin and report me if any error is printed. Then disable the debug mode. It is just a few second operation
- Make sure you are using the latest 11.8 version
- Make sure you are installing just the wp-user-extra-fields.zip package. The one downloaded from codecanyon is the zip file that both contains the plugin .zip file and documentation. So if you try install it you will get an error
- Eventually try installing the plugin via FTP and make sure that all the file have been copied to the destination folder
I was able to get debug mode in, any suggestions on what I’m looking for? That’s something Ihaven’t done before.
When the debug mode is on, is any detailed message related to the “fatal error” printed? could you report it to me? For what concerns the other points?
- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- a FTP access
I can perform some tests to see if it possible to determine the casue of the issue.
Yes it works, thanks a lot!!!!!! Is it possible to hide the field when it’s empty?
yes you could replace the :
<h3><?php echo $field_value;?></h3>with
<?php if($field_value != ""): ?> <h3><?php echo $field_value;?></h3> <?php endif; ?>
P. S.
- 5 stars
If you have enjoyed my support and/or my plugin please consider leaving the 5 stars, I would really appreciate!

This also works, of course I give you 5 stars, best support ever!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate!
Have a nice day!
One more question, when I use a drop down and display this with
<h3><?php echo $field_value;?></h3>it only shows the value 1 or 2, not the words that are in the drop down, like Sir or Madam, how can I change this?
<h3><?php echo $field_data->options[$field_value]->label;?></h3>
When i us this
<?php $field_data = wpuef_get_field('c32', $this->order->get_user_id());
$field_value = $field_data->value; ?><?php if($field_value != ""): ?><?php echo $field_value;?><?php endif; ?> I get 0 or 1,
But when I use your new code
<?php $field_data = wpuef_get_field('c32', $this->order->get_user_id());
$field_value = $field_data->value; ?><?php if($field_value != ""): ?><h3><?php echo $field_data->options[$field_value]->label;?></h3> it stays empty?!
echo $field_data->field_options->options[$field_value]->label;
Yes it works, thanks!
You’re welcome
Can I show the extra fields on a invoice and how?
For this you should contact the invoice plugin developer. Fields value can be retrieved programmatially through the wpuef_get_field function (more details in the plugin description page). So if your invoice plugin exposes any action/api while it renders the invoice, you could write a custom code that retrieves the field value you need for the current user through the wpuef_get_field function and render it inside the invoice.
In the invoice it is possible to create a custom template, and in there I can place custom php like
<?php $this->custom_field('custom_fieldname', 'Custom field:'); ?>.
So now I have to find out the field names and place them in my template?
The field id can be retrieved in the User -> Extra field menu: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s0xxuksvt8ci9cr/wpuef_cid.jpg?dl=0
So to retrieve a field value you can just use the following snippet:
$field_data = wpuef_get_field('c13', $user_id);
$field_value = $field_data->value;
Where the $user_id is the id of the user for which you want to retrieve the data. The $field_value is the value pf the field that you can show in the invoice.
Oke thanks, I’m gone test this in my invoice
You’re welcome
I placed this tag into my template
<?php $field_data = wpuef_get_field('c2', $user_id);
$field_value = $field_data->value; ?>, nothing shows up. When I place a text, it shows up, what can be wrong?
because that code just retrieves the value.if you want to print a php variable to the html result you have to use the echo command ( https://www.w3schools.com/php/func_string_echo.asp ). For example:
<?php $field_data = wpuef_get_field('c2', $user_id);
$field_value = $field_data->value;
echo $field_value;
?>
or
<?php $field_data = wpuef_get_field('c2', $user_id);
$field_value = $field_data->value;
?>
<h3><?php echo $field_value;?></h3>
NOTE: the $user_id has to contain a valid user id value that you can retrieve eventually from the woocommerce order object using the get_user_id() method ( https://docs.woocommerce.com/wc-apidocs/class-WC_Order.html )
Step 1 works, I’m not really good with php. So the second part get_user_id() does not work, because now I get a name but the wrong one, so that must be the, can you just help me a little bit more…
Unfortunately I do not know how to help you more
Support service is to report issues or bug not to request customization implementations.
I can however point you the direction that you should follow for any eventual customization but then it is your duty to perform all the tests needed in order to properly implement it and make sure that you have properly coded it.
Are your sure that are you using the $order->get_user_id() method (where the $order variable is the WC_Order object) and not just the global wordpress get_current_user_id() function? note that the get_current_user_id() function retrieves the id of the current user (the admin) and not the order user id.
What do you mean that is “the wrong name”? could you provide a more detailed description of what do you mean with wrong?
It seems that you are using an id that is not relative to the user that placed the order. So make sure that you are properly retrieving it by call the proper method on the order object.
With wrong I mean I don’t know how to use the $order->get_user_id() method. I placed the code you send me, but this is without the $order->get_user_id() method, so it will show the Admin value. I know this is much more then a question about a bug or so, but you would make me happy, when I just get is to work.
this is because if you do not pass any parameter to the wpuef_get_field function, it will automatically retrieve the current user id (the admin).
The problem is that you are just using the $order variable that most likely is not the name of the WC Order variable that plugin is using for referring to that object. Mine was an example to show how that method has to be used, but you should discover which is that object name.
Which is the invoice plugin are you using? could you share the template you are using?
Thank you for helping already this far. This is the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/. Here is the template explained: http://docs.wpovernight.com/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/creating-a-custom-pdf-template/. And here’s the template: http://xtrawarmled.com/invoice.zip
wpuef_get_field('c2', $this->order->get_user_id())
Please help – I have received the following error when activating the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
thanks
Hi,
without any further clue it is quite hard to determine the cause. Try enable the wordpress debug mode to see if any further clue is printend (https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress ).
Note also that the plugin, as reported in its description page. requires a minimu of 5.5 PHP version. Check the WooCommerce -> status menu to know which version are you running.
Note also that you have just to install the wp-user-extra-fields.zip file not the whole .zip that both contains the plugin and doumentation.
Hi Thanks for the great plugin! However i am having an issue that form does not display after the most recent update to Woo. Please advise. No core fields in woo have been edited or modified in any way. All fields are set correctly and none of these below are enabled. Still will not display extra fields on Woo My-account page. Thank you
Editable ONLY by Admin, Hide in the register page, Invisible, one of the role restriction options-
Version: 11.7
to request support you have to renew your support page. For now I can only say that if you wish to display and edit the on the may Account pages, enable one of the options you find under the Visble and Editable in following pages section.
For further support I need to analyze your installation. To do that renew your support license then send me via private message (click on my name and then use the low-right box) the following:
- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- a FTP access
- a detailed step by step guide on how to experience the issue

Thank you!
How to add field on woocommerce registration… You do not show it step by step.
Please tell me how to do it…
as you can see from the demo site, you have just to create a field. No other further action is required. It will be automatically showed in the woocmmerce registration form on the “My Account” page.
Make however sure that you did not enabled one of the following options:
- Editable ONLY by Admin
- Hide in the register page
- Invisible
- one of the role restriction options
I do not understand what you mean no other further action because nothing happen on my registration page when install your plugin…can you check for me more details? I just want to add one field on WooCommerce registration page….
I try to find where the page to “create a field”.. I do not find it..
Few questions:
- Have you created at least one field?
- Have you customized/altered in any way the registration page or registration workflow?
- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- a FTP access
I can try to perform some tests to see if it possible to get more clues about the cause of the issue.
User -> Extra fields
Yes…This is what I try to find…
My problem solved..
TQ
Ah ok, no problem then
You’re welcome

Hi, I noticed an issue that not all files got saved by the plugin for some reason. I see many people uploaded documents but the folder stays empty and if as admin go to the backend to show the image it goes to 404, as image not exist.
I have a php error plugin what gaves me this error everytime the not saving happens. There is already a lot of poeple updated files and it didnt get saved, this is a big issue, so please can you look at this.
Error: PHP Warning: rename(/wp-content/uploads/wpuef/tmp/chunk_2782735_passport_photo.jpg,/wp-content/uploads/wpuef/3685/724676_passport_photo.jpg): No such file or directory in /wp-content/plugins/wp-user-extra-fields/classes/com/WPUEF_File.php on line 221
Thanks
Hi,
it seems related to a server issue. It seems that your server is denining the plugin to write temporarly uploaded data (and then move it to its final destination) on the plugin tmp folder.
Make sure that the /wp-content/uploads/wpuef/tmp/ is fully accessible by the plugin scripts and in your server there is enough space to store files and that there isn’t any 3rd party plugin (or server configuration) that may interfering with the read/write operation on that folder.
Hi,
I checked 3rd party plugins, I have over 80G free space and this is what the hosting came back with:
“Dear customer,
Yes, the rights are ok. But, the error message doesn’t seem to point to rights problem.
It says that you couldn’t rename an image because the file doesn’t exist in the folder /wp-content/uploads/wpuef/tmp/ :
“PHP Warning: rename(/wp-content/uploads/wpuef/tmp/chunk_3934225_image.jpg,/wp-content/uploads/wpuef/3716/665592_image.jpg): No such file or directory in /wp-content/plugins/wp-user-extra-fields/classes/com/WPUEF_File.php on line 221” “
Any comment on this?
The fact that the file doesn’t exist seems related to the fact that your server in some way is dening the wpuef scripts to write in that folder.
Could you then check in the server error log if there is any error related to that folder?
If you also send me via private message (click on my name and then use the low-right box) the following:
- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- a FTP access
- a detailed step by step guide on how to experience the issue
I can try to perform further tests to see if it possible to get more clues about it. Please make also sure you are running the latest 11.8 plugin version.
Hi,
I can msg site details in private. There is nothing related to this folder in the error log. Nothing to any other plugin. I am running the latest one, what I updated yesterday. The weird thing is that the issue is not always occur. Out of 10 uploads about 1 succeed but most of the uploads on the client account pages, when clicked on view/download leads to 404 since the page not exist. I tried to upload a file as a client and for me it worked. So I hope you can tell more, since they uploading copy of documents what are now not being saved.
Unfortunately I’m not able to say you more. The script performs always the same actions, so it sounds strange that sometimes the files is copied and some other times not.
Described in this way it sounds more a server issue that in some conditions it is not able to write in that folder. However without any further clue and without the ability to reporduce the error in your server for me is quite impossible to say more.
Would it possible that you have installed any security module/plugin that deletes files in that folder?
Hello, after the recent update of woocommerce it seems that my user extra fields plugin is performing some weird actions with user uploads. The user is uploading an image and the plugin seems to be converting the image into a zipped true type file. Is this something you have noticed or is it fixable from my end in any way? Thank you
Hi,
it sounds very strange tha the plugin is suddenly compressing the just uploaded files without any alteration of its code.
Are you sure that the issue is caused by the plugin? Which kind of tests have you performed? Could you also try updating the plugin to the latest 11.7 version that you can donwload from codecanyon page? To manually update just deactivate, delete and install the new version. Don’t worry you won’t lose any setting. Instead to automatic update it just install the Envato updater plugin: http://envato.github.io/wp-envato-market/dist/envato-market.zip. To activate the plugin, click on
Envato Market menu voice -> Settings and then click on the generate a personal token, follow the on-screen instruction and then paste the generated token.
Once done you will be notified in case of plugin updates and in case you will be able to automatically update them.
Ok. I uninstalled, and updated to latest version and will run some tests to see if it is still producing the upload problem. Will get back to you once I have tested things out.
I believe the update fixed my problem, sorry to bother you.
Glad to hear that
no problem, you’re welcome

Hi, may I know if this plugin can help me in solving my problem. I have more than 30 list data (lets say from year 1990 to 2020), currently the list will make the user have to scroll all the way down…can this make the list to become columns instead?
Hi,
I’m sorry, but unfortunately the plugin hasn’t any feature to collapse multiple rows in a just singe column.
Hi, this is a cool plugin. I’m using it with WooCommerce. At the moment the custom fields show up under Account Details in the My-Account page. Please could you suggest how we could have them show up under a separate tab? Thanks
Hi,
thank you for your appreication
For what you ask it is not an easy operation that I can suggest on the fly.
You have to search some documentation on how to create a custom end point for woocommerce, how to extend the my account menu to add the new page tab and then finally in the new page render the extra fields by firing the custom_form shortcode.
