Will there be an update for this for WooCommerce 3.5?
is there a way to make the fee store extra meta in database . i need it to store a text in database for each fee i place , the value will be diff
I’m afraid this is not yet possible with WooCommerce. They only added this recently for shipping, and I’ve heard rumors about it coming to get as well, but I haven’t seen it yet.

The only way to do this is to select the ‘Per Item’ checkbox in the row your fee is setup in. This will allow the fee to look at the items individually so you can compare it to a specific product and apply the fee only if it matches.
For comparison you will need to setup a condition. Most likely you can use the ‘Product Includes’ condition, but if you have a lot of products this fee applies to, it would probably be better to use categories or even shipping class to denote the products that receive this fee.
Hi, my support period is expired but i’ve a simple question, hope you can reply me: i was using bolder fees on woocommerce 2.6.5 from several months with no problems, last friday i updated to latest woocommerce version and now i’ve problems with cart, after adding something to cart (ajax or not) after a couple of seconds it resets to empty. I tried to disable all plugins testing only with theme (atelier) woocommerce and bolder fees only the problem persist, disabling bolder fees all starts working well. Do you already experienced this problem?

I’m afraid that’s not something I have seen before. If it’s a bug on our side I’m happy to look into it but I’ll need to be able to replicate it in order to understand what’s going on. Do you have a staging site I could investigate with?
Please also make sure you are using the latest version as there have been several updates to this plugin since WooCommerce 2.6 to address known issues those updates caused.

For taxes it is preferred that you use the Tax API in WooCommerce. Fees are a separate part of WooCommerce, and when the order is finalized, they will be saved in the same manner as products. If you setup taxes through the Tax API it will be saved as a Tax in the order summary separate from the products.
This plugin is used more for adding additional costs such as extra services or to cover other fees you may pay someone else.
but could I add different fees and extra services depending of destination country?
Absolutely, there is a ‘Location’ column in the table that is populated with a list of regions that you can setup in a separate tab. It will then allow you to select one of the regions, and only customers in that region will see the fee option you setup in that row.

It’s possible there is a conflict with something else on your site. If you would like me to login and take a look, please open a ticket on the support site and provide credentials. I setup a test scenario on the development site and the demo site, and in both cases the tax was calculated and added correctly. The total value is custom adjusted by this plugin for optional fees, so it’s possible there is just something different on your site preventing this from working correctly.

If ‘ice’ is a product you can certainly use the ‘Per Item’ checkbox to multiply the fee by the number of ‘ice’ products, but if you’re looking for a fee with a numerical quantity field, I’m afraid that is not possible at the moment. However this plugin is going under a full rewrite and the 2.0 version will include new fee types like radio buttons. I can add this as a potential option to consider during its development.

I’m happy to answer any pre-sale questions you have, however #1 would be a bit difficult as the plugin doesn’t seem to exist on their site anymore. I am not familiar with it so I do not know what features it offered, but if you want to list what ones you are looking for I’m happy to compare that.
This plugin is partially compatible with WPML. Full compatibility will be coming with 2.0 later this year. Right now it will translate the titles just fine, but if you have subtotal based requirements, I’m afraid this does not work with WPML’s currency converter just yet.
Yes, both the optional and mandatory fees will appear on the cart and checkout pages.
I have not personally tested any invoicing plugin with this one, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. WooCommerce has a fees API built in, it just requires code snippets or third party plugins to access it. When the order is complete and processed, all fees are registered through the WooCommerce Fees API. An invoicing plugin should already account for these since it is a built in feature.

It’s a longer time period I’m afraid. It’s a complete redesign and reworking of the functionality. It will have all the same features, it will just be enhanced and more developer friendly. If you need the price feature I can leave you instructions on how to modify it to work, but if you were just worried about languages that part is already working in the current version.

Help! I want to add a hyperlink to the fee. I want to have a (?) with the ? clickable so that I can show a webpage with an explanation of what the fee is. However, it seems like hyperlinks aren’t supported in the fee name. Can this be achieved somehow?
I’m afraid not without modifying the template. Even if my settings didn’t remove HTML, WooCommerce does when it prints the fee out. You can review the template file here:

This plugin only modifies the optional fee HTML. I’m sorry I should have asked if this was an optional fee. If so you may need to alter this plugin instead.

Yes, but I can help with the exact location. Open file woocommerce-bolder-fees/class-fees.php. On line 226 is the function ‘add_new_fee_row’. This one outputs the HTML and you will be able to modify it to include the necessary tooltip or description.
I have also added this to the roadmap for version 2.0. I am not sure if it will be possible for the regular fees, but in the very least we could do something like this for optional fees.

You would want to put it right before the closure of that table element. It’s a headline element, so if you search the function I showed you for </th>, you would put it right before the ’<’.

Hi! I have another question. There is currently no logical filter for shipping country. It would be nice if we could say “shipping country is” or “shipping country is not”. I have an optional fee that I don’t want to make available to certain countries (it adds a premium service that isn’t available everywhere). Can this be done via code or could it be part of a future update?
You should be able to just make a separate zone for this. Are you able to see the ‘Shipping Zones’ tab at the top of your WooCommerce settings page? It’s a bit misleading, I know. It was set that way to be compatible with the shipping zones that used to be in my Table Rate shipping plugin. They will be renamed in version 2. But there you can setup a zone that excludes certain countries and assign your fee to that.

Would it be possible to add a fee if one of the products in the cart is only available on backorder?
I’m afraid this is not currently one of the built in conditions for this plugin, but I have noted it as a possibility for a future update.

I’m afraid the next update release won’t be for a while because it is a very large update. The best I could do is give you a couple modified files that would make it work in the current version, but I won’t have the availability to do so until next week.
Pre-sale question. Does this plugin allow you to setup fees for specific states? For example, I would like to add a 3% processing fee (based on cart total) for credit card purchases, but there a several states where we cannot charge this fee. So during checkout I would like the processing fee to be added to all orders except for customers located in certain US states.
Definitely! The location column requires you to setup a zone within this plugin’s settings (so not the WooCommerce shipping zones). The zone settings would allow you to setup a zone for all of the US with the except of certain selected states. Then your fee will only apply to the remaining states

If I add an optional fee, can it be set to be selected by default, so it is opt-out rather than opt-in?
Unfortunately not by default, you would have to modify the code for now. It will come in version 2.0 as a built in option, but I’m afraid that won’t be released for a while.

I’m afraid this is not one of my plugins that is fully compatible with WPML. It will be worked on for 2.0, but it is still a long ways away from being ready for release.

You probably could by modifying the associated template files but it’s not something this plugin does for you in the settings. The output of the fees is managed by WooCommerce so you would need to modify its templates.

I’m afraid I could not replicate it on the demo site. I have an item with a $1.25 fee and the Per Item checkbox marked. It correctly multiplies the price by the number ordered.

Presale questions:
1) I am using this for a ticketing website. We need to be able to set the product fees (convenience fees) per product variation. So one ticket will cost $5.00 base and we want to add either a fixed fee to just that ticket or a percentage based fee to just that ticket.
2)This fee would show up on the checkout page once they select their ticket and would be calculated in final total
3) I need to be able to export a report detailing all fees per selected products.
Can this do this?
I’m afraid there are no statistics built into this plugin so you would not be able to do #3. #2 certainly, but I am not sure I quite follow with item #2. You can change the pricing based on the number ordered, but any percentage fees applies to the entire cost of all tickets, not just the ones in addition to the first ticket, so unfortunately I am assuming it won’t be able to handle your first request either.
Sad but tru. Not able to safe fee… totally useless plugin at this point.
The most common cause of this issue is that you have not created a zone under the new ‘Shipping Zones’ tab you will see is added since activating this plugin. This is a required field, so you will need to create at least one zone to let the plugin know where the fee is applicable. (Everywhere is an option). Then once you have done that, you will see the select box under ‘Location’ is populated. With this field fulfilled, it will save.
Can this plugin be used to add tip/gratuity at checkout/your order screen after subtotal excluding taxes? If customer can place their own amount into this field before payment options would be ideal. Thanks
Unfortunately not at this time. Version 2.0 will include more fee types, but at this time I’m afraid it is not an option and 2.0 is still in its beginning phases of development.
