I purchased your plugin last week and it works great. I’ve read through all the comments and didn’t see an answer to my specific question. Can the initial security deposit amount be modified prior to refund? Currently we are charging a $100 security deposit for a room rental. If only $40 worth of damages are caused we’d like to refund $60. Can that be done in the existing plugin?

It works well with the woocommerce v 3.1.2 but If update it to 3.2.1 then on the cart page the security deposits plugin shows twice. I had to revert the woocommerce.
I just made another installation with only my wp theme, new woocommerce plugin v. 3.2.1 and the security deposit in order to avoid plugin conflicts, but it still shows twice,

if you are using quantity as in woocommerce simple / variable products , then there is an option which enables / disables multiplying deposit by quantity
However, if your plugin / theme is using a custom qty to control rent days, deposit can be set as fixed /percentage amount from cart item total.
For example you can always charge a base deposit fee of $50 and it won’t be multiplied.

i am using mycred plugin together with WooCommerce Security Deposits. So the refund system should refund back the credit into mycred account. However, during testing, your plugin did not add back the refunded amount to the mycred account and it even deducted the amount from the account. Please help me on this. Thanks.

I was curious, can we duplicate the security deposit if x2 of the rental product has been added to the cart? Not in separate cart items, but x2 in the same cart item.
In our example below, we have the security deposit set to a fixed value of $50 per rental item. But you can see since this rental item is only 1 cart item (with 2 rentals), only 1 deposit charge is added.

It seems like you tried to install the compressed file which also contains documentation, you need to extract the file you downloaded from CodeCanyon and you will find that it contains documentation and install-able file named “woocommerce-security-deposits-1.0.3.zip” which can be directly installed on your site via plugin uploader.

Thank you for your interest, the security deposit is added as a fee on top of order total, and it gets refunded via gateway so no credit card numbers or payment information get stored on your site.
Plugin will work with any gateway that support woocommerce refunds ( majority of plugins do )

Thank you for purchasing. Yes plugin is compatible with both woocommerce deposits and woocommerce bookings.
plugin is already translated to spanish and files are located in ~.wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-security-deposits/languages.
You’d need to replace files woocommerce-security-deposits-es-ES.po and mo files ( or you can directly edit existing .PO file)

Is it possible to use this as a deposit on a product before it is created and then the difference charged once it is shipped?

this plugin adds security deposits features, which means that according to settings when a user purchases a product ( a boat rental for example) , user gets charged an extra amount as a security deposit. This security deposit amount can be easily refunded later by store manager.

1. My product is a rental space. The space costs $300 to rent. I would like customers to book the space and pay a security deposit of $200. Then, 2 weeks before the booking, I would like to send an email/payment request for the $300 space rental. Then after booking, I would refund the security deposit of $200. Can your plugin do this?

1- this plugin can add security deposit on top of rental cost , but it cannot split payments or do partial payment scenario, WooCommerce Deposits – Partial Payments Plugin can do that very well though. This scenario can be done by comibining these plugins and changing partial payment email wording.
2- Yes, woocommerce order emails show the security deposit as a fee , when the refund is issued, a “security deposit refunded” email is sent after order completed email , both reflect the successful refund.

Yes I think to achieve that scenario you will need to use both plugins , this plugin to add security deposit fee on top of product price and to issue refunds.
While WooCommerce Deposits-Partial Payments Plugin will be used to split the $500 to 2 payments , one on checkout and the second after 2 weeks ( by setting plugin to send a reminder after 14 days from first payment)

Is it possible to setup and authorize and capture paypal link just for the security deposit and not capture the entire amount when the client pay?

Plugin was initially developed based on the scenario of capturing entire amount and works currently in this way.
However, an authorize mode will be included in next release, where entire amount will be authorized but admin will choose whether to capture entire amount or release deposit and capture product price only ( subject to gateway compatibility and feature availability ofcourse ) :
Example :
If product is $100 and deposit is 300$ :
at checkout amount authorized will be 400$, when order is processed amount captured will be 100$ unless admin choose to capture deposit too then captured amount will be 400$

Is there a way to automatically process the refunds 24 hours after the booking period UNLESS shop owner manually stops it?

There is a global setting to automatically process refunds when order status changes to “completed” , this stetting can be overridden in order editor to prevent automatic refund so that when order is completed deposit won’t be refunded for this particular order.
It is a very good idea to have deposit refund delayed as you suggested. I will work on developing this feature to be included in next release

I love the idea of allowing an automated refund based on a time delay; however, for the time being, is there a way to have the order status completion to happen automatically?
There are ways of automating order completion on payment, such as this snippet for example. There are also free plugins for the same purpose such as WooCommerce Autocomplete Orders , but I do not think there are existing solutions providing order status change based on time delay.
Was the delayed automatically processing of refunds part of the release on 10/7/2017? I wasn’t sure based on the changelog. If so, we’re ready to buy!
Hi, the version released on 10 july (1.0.2) did not have that feature, however I have already added this feature to version 1.0.3 which is about to get uploaded to Envato in few days ( right after updating documentation and translations ).

For our service, with multiple products that will require any customer to pay a daily rental fee PLUS the security deposit for each item that we offer, which license do we need? Will we be able to collect a security deposit on each of our items with said license?

Amount of woocommerce products is not related to license , you can have unlimited number of woocommerce products with a regular license.
Briefly explainin : license is Website based , site owners are required to purchase more than one license only if they are to use it on more than one website.
In a drone rental website I think what you would need a single Regular license purchase.

If I am logged in as Admin, can I pull up the customers details and still proceed through to PayPal or do I have to be logged in through the customers account? This is an issue we are getting with customers turning up and making repeat orders we can add the customers details but when we go through to pay via PayPal we get an error as we are not logged in to their account. Sorry this is a pre purchase question – does it work when you have a customers details in the WooCommerce system and than go through to pay via PayPal? when you are logged in as Admin [WooCommerce does not let you do this for a standard product as it requires you to be logged into that customers account] thank you and sorry for the miss understanding
Hi, sorry I misunderstood your question earlier. This plugin should work with all product types , it adds a deposit fee on top of product price but it does not interfere with payment methods or procedure .
plugin has no interference or effects on the restriction you mentioned of not being able to pay an order if not logged in with the account that owns that order ( customer in this case).

Just to confirm as its hard to explain! – I can take a security deposit when customer turns up at our hire hub e.g. £300.00 (after they had already completed an order and paid for it e.g. 1 day hire £70.00) on return of the hired item they get refunded the £300.00 security deposit. Thank you for your patients
not exactly. you can take security deposit with the order payment directly , example:
Hire cost is 70 and deposit is set to 300 : Customer pays 370 at checkout then when order is completed you can refund the security deposit of 300 via customer payment gateway ( paypal for example) with a single click or you can configure plugin to automatically refund deposit once order is completed.
