I purchased this and switched from basic to pro to hopefully fix the complete page load on pagination as it said it has easy slide navigation. Installing pro broke the entire timeline. It does not have an area where I can change publish year. No matter how many times I delete story items and re-input them, it places them in the timeline out of date order, or out of custom order if I try to do it that way. Jan 2007, Feb 2008 June 2000 then July 2012 then Aug 2017….. it makes no sense.

This has added up to major annoyances, since the free version was 100% better than the pro version and I only bought it to try and eliminate complete page refresh upon pagination, but in the pro version I CANNOT get it to order items in the dates I set no matter which settings I do.

The issue it, it DOES NOT give me the option to edit published year so it is sorting by month period regardless of the fact that I have changed the input date/year where ever available. The is NO OPTION to change the published year on my end.

Also, upon page refresh with the pagination, it takes you to the top of the page and NOT where the timeline is represented. This was pretty much the sole purpose of us purchasing this Pro version was to eliminate this. There is literally no functionality we are currently using, look or otherwise, that wasn’t the exact same or easier with the Free version. The pro version has wasted the last three hours of my time and I am unable to find any helpful information to help me solve any of these problems.

Hi,

We feel apologizes for inconvenience.

Did you migrate stories using migration feature ?.

Actually, in current version we have disabled Story year section. Because we are representing story year on timeline from Story Date values. Please just set your story dates correctly.

Please share your all stories section screenshot or your Temporary WordPress details at contact@cooltimeline.com . So that we can check it help you out.

Regarding the pagination query.Did you try our ajax load more pagination ?. Please check demo using below shared link.

https://www.cooltimeline.com/ajax-load-more/

We are also improving our documentation.

Thanks!

Hello! Great plugin. Everything works fine. I have a question about timeline order:

I set ascending order and it works fine. But the timeline starts with the oldest post (the first added timeline post) and after that I can navigate right to the new posts. How can I set to show the newest post first and after that I can navigate to left for older posts. (descending order is not good because the old posts should be on the left side).

thanks

Hello! Any update?

Hi there,

We have already added left side older stories feature in last version. Please update your installed plugin version with latest version.You can use it by using starting at settings in shortcode generator.

Thanks,

Great support! 5 star added :)

Purchased this upgrade from the FREE one and it totally screwed up our entire history page. This SUCKS!!!! You should make a documentation on how folks can upgrade from the FREE to PRO without having to start all over!!! Now we have to manually go and update the “Story date” which in the free version was taking in the post date, timeline shortcode no longer works, and many other issues.

Also, how to fix this error “The Timezone Could Not Be Found In The Database” as can be seen in this screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/0cfkMRyga

Hi there,

First of all! You don’t need to migrate stories manually, Please just use migration feature from plugin settings panel. Could you please share your all stories screenshot. If you want to fix this problem urgently please share your WordPress temporary credentials at contact@cooltimeline.com . So that we can check it and help you out.

Thanks!

Hi team! For some reason the content in my timeline does not show on the page – Only the “line” is showing, but no images or text. This is really URGENT for me – can you please contact me and I will send you a screenshot :) Thanks!

Hi,

What is your active plugin version ?.

Did you read this FAQ from support section ?

My timeline is not working inside Google Chrome latest version.. WHY?

If you are using Google Chrome latest version (Version 61.0.3163.79 or later) then you can face this issue, some animation effects have stopped working inside Cool Timeline Pro so your timeline is not visible inside Google Chrome, But we have also rectified this issue, after this chrome update.

We have also released a new update so if you’re using an older version of Cool timeline Pro then please upgrade to 2.4 or later version then you will not face this issue. Please also clear your browser cache.

If you are still unable to fix this issue please contact us at contact@cooltimeline.com

Thanks!

Hi there, I know someone has asked this already, but is there a way to set the horizontal timeline to start at a specific story? You replied to the other person who asked this by saying there is a small custom code snippet needed?

Hi,

Yes, You can start horizontal timeline from specific story date. But current version does not support this functionality . We will add this functionality in next updates.

Please let me know if you have still any query. Thanks in Advance!

Hey, I’m having many issues since installing the PRO version, I’ve contacted support with specifics.

Hi Lewis Glasgow,

I have checked your Facebook conversion and also replies on it.

Q) 1.Sorry, You have not added any story yet .

Actually, this error occurs when users select category with no stories. Please select category which have some stories.

2). Regarding the images disapper issue. This problem occur if your active theme animation (animate.css https://daneden.github.io/animate.css/) override our plugin styles.In order to fix this issue you have to customize small snippet of CSS.

Please share your timeline link.We will share with you.

Thanks! CoolHappy Cool Timeline Team.

Hello,

I updated to version 2.5 yesterday having multiple issues. I could resolve all of these except that now my timeline stories are missing the field “Story Year *” and I even lost the years I had previously set up. If I turn on debug mode in the Wordpress, I get the following error:

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$slug in /Library/WebServer/Documents/dobcn/test.jordialba/wp-content/plugins/cool-timeline-pro/includes/class.wp-auto-plugin-update.php on line 87

Specifically when entering the “Add plugin page”

Hi there,

Actually! We have disabled Story Year field from story section in this update. We are representing Story Year from Story Date field values.

Please turn off your debug mode and check it again. If you are facing any problem in story orders .Please let me know.

Please also share all notices and issues you are getting in debug mode at contact@cooltimeline.com . We will also fix these issues on time.

Thanks

I have created a brand new Wordpress installation and was hoping to migrate my Cool Timeline stories over – would it be possible to export from mySql to the new installation? An import/export facility in future releases would be a nice feature.

Thanks for appreciations and great suggestion.

The current version does not support import/export functionality. But you can easily migrate using wordpress-importer plugin.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-importer/

We will definitely integrate this feature in next updates.

There is a major issue with the plugin, when you click the arrow on the horizontal slide navigation. https://www.cooltimeline.com/horizontal-timeline-flat-design/ the right side arrow, it never stops counting the clicks even when you are on the last item and the arrow turns grey, the slider will still count the clicks, so if you click the arrow 20 times, it will take 20 clicks on the left arrow before you can start moving to the left again. It only happens on the right side, and the bug is present in your demo too. I hope my description makes sense. Click many times on the right arrow, then start navigating back with the opposite arrow. I need a fix for this please.

HI @CreantLLC,

Thanks for spotting an issue and explanation.We will fix this problem and release newer version of plugin soon.

Thanks Again, CoolHappy

Thank you for getting back with us, it is very urgent for us, and I’m sure it can be fixed with some code correction. Even if temporarily till you release and update please provide us with a solution, we already purchased and used your plugin for an important project. This is a major issue, how come nobody ever said anything before?

For this time being please add below mentioned styles in Custom CSS setting section in plugin settings panel.
.ctl-slick-next.slick-disabled, .ctl-slick-prev.slick-disabled{
    pointer-events:none!important;
}

Hello,

I can’t get my custom date format to work.

I entered “Y” as I would like to use the year as the date format but it looks like the settings aren’t getting applied to the stories.

Can you help me please?

Hi there,

Please let me know you active plugin version.

You can easily set Y (year) as date format while you are creating shortcode using shortcode generator. Please check below shared screenshot.

Few questions regarding my timeline here: http://newwws.co.il/time/ 1. How can I add image caption or image description on the box? 2. How can I disable the link from the title? I thought I did it from the settings but it still links.. 3. I wan’t to add custom text on year box – see attached image for example, is it possible? (Under 1882) 4. Is it possible on this design make gaps between boxes like in compact design?

I have created customized featured image code according to your requirements.Please replace below mentioned code in cool-timeline-pro/includes/ctl-helpers.php

Please find clt_story_featured_img function in line no :#418 and replace it with below mentioned code:-

function clt_story_featured_img($post_id,$ctl_options_arr){

  $custom_link = get_post_meta($post_id, 'story_custom_link', true);
  $img_cont_size = get_post_meta($post_id, 'img_cont_size', true);
 $img_html='';
 $stories_images_link = $ctl_options_arr['stories_images'];

$imgAlt = get_post_meta(get_post_thumbnail_id($post_id),'_wp_attachment_image_alt', true);

$get_description = get_post(get_post_thumbnail_id($post_id))->post_excerpt;

$alt_text=$imgAlt?$imgAlt:get_the_title($post_id);

  if ($stories_images_link =="popup") {
      $img_f_url = wp_get_attachment_url(get_post_thumbnail_id($post_id));
      $story_img_link = '<a title="' . esc_attr(get_the_title($post_id)). '" href="' . $img_f_url . '" class="ctl_prettyPhoto">';

    } else if ($stories_images_link == "single") {

         if(isset($custom_link)&& !empty($custom_link)){
           $story_img_link = '</a><a target="_blank" title="' . esc_attr(get_the_title($post_id)) . '" href="' . $custom_link. '" class="single-page-link">';

          }else{
            $story_img_link = '</a><a title="' . esc_attr(get_the_title($post_id)) . '" href="' . get_the_permalink($post_id) . '" class="single-page-link">';

         }
    } else if ($stories_images_link == "disable_links") {
         $story_img_link = '';
         $s_l_close='';
     }else {
            $s_l_close='';
             $story_img_link = '</a><a title="' . esc_attr(get_the_title($post_id)) . '" href="' . get_the_permalink($post_id) . '" class="">';
          }

    if ($img_cont_size == "small") {

        if ( has_post_thumbnail($post_id) ) {
         $img_html .= '<div class="pull-left">';
        $img_html.=$story_img_link;
        $img_html.=get_the_post_thumbnail( $post_id, 'thumbnail', array( 'class' => 'story-img left_small','alt'=>$alt_text) );
         $img_html.='';

          if(!empty($get_description)){//If description is not empty show the div
         $img_html.='<p class="featured_caption">' . $get_description . '</p>';
           }

          $img_html.='</div>';
         }

     } else {
         if ( has_post_thumbnail($post_id) ) {
        $img_html .= '<div class="full-width">';
        $img_html.=$story_img_link;
        $img_html.=get_the_post_thumbnail( $post_id, 'large', array( 'class' => 'story-img','alt'=>$alt_text) );
          $img_html.='';

          if(!empty($get_description)){//If description is not empty show the div
         $img_html.='<p class="featured_caption">' . $get_description . '</p>';
           }

          $img_html.='</div>';
         }

     }

      return  $img_html;
}

</a>

Save your file and add caption of your story images. Please let me know if you are still facing any problem.

Hi, I am getting fatal error…

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare clt_story_featured_img() (previously declared in /home/newwwsco/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cool-timeline-pro/includes/ctl-helpers.php:363) in /home/newwwsco/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cool-timeline-pro/includes/ctl-helpers.php on line 533

Just letting you know – that taking of the at the end of your code, fixed the problem. Thanks

Any ideas why I am seeing Page 1 of 2 (below the cool timeline), when everything is visible on the Page 1 already? When I click Pg 2 it just loads exactly the same as Pg 1. Thanks!

Hi,

Please share your timeline page link and added shortcode. So that we check it and help you out.

Best Regards, CoolHappy Cool Timeline Team.

Hello,

I would like to get the nice Scroll-navigation of the vertical timeline for the horizontal. How can I make this? Thanks a lot! Sven

Hi Sven,

Unfortunately! the current version does not support scrolling navigation with horizontal timeline. It only works with Vertical layout. We will add scrolling navigation feature in horizontal timeline in next updates.

Please let me know if you have still any query.

Thanks! CoolHappy Cool Timeline Team

Just bought your plugin but it will not show my events in order? I can not figure out what is wrong?

Hi, this problem occurs when a user don’t correctly upgrade from free to pro, don’t worry we will provide you full support. Can you please share your wp-admin temporary details for our developers team at here – contact@cooltimeline.com

We need to check it from your admin side to resolve this issue fast!

Hi, I finally buy your plugin, hoping the auto-scroll feature will come really fast ;-)

We implement a Timeline…but there is a strange reaction in front . Can you check it pls ?

Thanks,

Hello,

We have just created a page using the timeline plugin and used ‘Load more’ button instead of the normal paging.

When clicking on ‘Load More’ button, shouldn’t this action update the navigation bullets on the right hand side in order to be able to navigate to more years than the initial ones? After clicking ‘Load More’ we are able to scroll only on the initial years, not the ones that are loaded afterwards.

Website link: http://www.remedica.webidilio.com/about-us/history/

Thank you!

Hi there,

Hello, Thank you too, can’t wait for the new release :)

I am trying to remove the “continue reading” button on my timeline. I have the ‘read more’ selected as ‘no’ but the button still shows up. Any way I can remove it?

Hi there,

Actually, this Continue reading link(button) comes from your theme not from our plugin.

Your active theme is filtering all short content(the_excerpt()) further reading buttons. In order to fix this problem please read filter hooks from below shared link.

https://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More

Thanks

Hi,

Reading that article, I don’t have any “read more” code within the timeline shortcode. The button looks like it’s part of each individual timeline post. This is what I’ve got for my shortcode:

[cool-timeline layout=”default” animation=”fadeInUp” date-format=”Y” icons=”NO” show-posts=”20” skin=”default”]

Any other idea of why I’d still be getting the button in each post?

Thanks,

Is there a way on the horizontal timeline that you are able to flip the title text and the featured image around? I would like the image at the top of the timeline box.

Regards

is there a way also to remove the way that the timeline loads at the moment it is all to the left and spreads out over the page.

http://ss02.studiosixtydev.co.uk/ventures-timeline/

This is the timeline that I have built but I would like these amendments in there.

Regards

@chezzo19 – we need to customize the code to change title & image position but here I suggest you another simple CSS solution, please follow these steps:-

1. Please also add your story title inside your post content part like this:-

/h2 class=”content-title new”/ Your Title Here /h2/

2. Use this custom css:-

.cool-timeline-horizontal h2.content-title { display: none; } .cool-timeline-horizontal h2.content-title.new { display: inline-block; line-height: 1.3em !important; padding: 0 !IMPORTANT; margin-bottom: 15px !IMPORTANT; }

I think it is perfect solution for you instead of code customization.

Thank you for this, what about the way the timeline initially loads? Is there a way of removing the animation so that it loads instantly? rather than the way it does now?

Thanks for all your help.
