can you make the animation stop once we put the mouse on the popup tooltip box / text ? that way i can put more content and maybe put in a div and wrap all the other regions for a country.

I don’t have the time to do that right now. I can look into it when i get a moment, but I can’t say when that will be. Thanks.

i had a requirement where on each tooltip popup on each country i need to show certain other states/regions of that country. In your demo the slideshow is continuosly changing from one state/country to another. It will be great if you can make the animation pause or stop when a mouse hovers over the popup box.

Technically it does, but right now rolling over any other spot registers and removes the tooltip. Works best when the tool tip is close to the hotspot and tier animations are not active.

Im planning to get this but i want to know this first. In the First/Second tier animation, how can i stop the animation or pause the slideshow if my mouse hover over the tooltip? Is that possible ? I want to show another DIV with more regions inside it as long as the mouse is over the tooltip. But the slideshow should continue if i dont hover over the tooltip.

I see what is happening there. Unfortunately, I had to add a “roll over” function to the dead spots because the raphaeljs engine had a bug in it that made it act funky in IE. So, the dots are unfortunately hitting those first and second tier dead spots and it is being counted as a roll out (and removing the tool tip). I don’t know that this will work the way you want it to. Does that answer your question?

I would use this card with ajax to add or delete items on the fly. (Not innexistant create new point, but add or destroy those existing on the map For example: $ (map). Append (<li id="3998"> <point_header> Hello World </ point_header> </li>)) How would you accomplish that? Thanks and good job.

I have no idea. This goes beyond knowledge base. It actually sounds like you may know more than me. I would think that you have to create functions to draw and destroy the raphaeljs graphics on the fly, not just at init.

Also is there anyway to add HTML text, tags into the list elements for instance, I would like to have two different font colors/styles within the list element.

In the documentation it says this is possible but does not explain how.

I would use example 2 as a jumping off point and try to add color formatting there. I don’t know if you can use CSS colors for the individual words inside the tooltip, just the overall color. Since it uses raphaeljs i am limited to its features.

There seems to be a ton of errors when running this code through a the w3c markup validator… Is this unavoidable?...

One issue I have is that if I hover over an active area to view its contents, the slideshow stops. Forgive me if this is a setting I overlooked.

Regarding the markup I just thought that having validated code was what we aimed for, I was just trying to help make your product stronger, not nit-pick it. Your call if you want valid code or not.

I totally get why you are saying re: markup. I’m a flash as3 convert so any pointers you have a much appreciated. Thanks. At this point I don’t know what would fix that.

You can make the sideshow continue, but it is not a setting. You will have edit the js file. Give me a few minutes to get to my office to tell you exactly where and what you need to edit.

I have submitted an update for this file to include the new slideshow feature. email me through my profile if you want/need a copy sooner.

again, any advice you can give me regarding the validation would be great.

Thanks. I really just did the US. Don.t have any use for the other countries. Is there a way I can enlarge the map to exclude them? If not, how difficult would it be for me to plot my own points or is it not even worth it?

you’d have to create your own unique grid system… for instance, the worldmap has 131 columns and obviously some of those placeholders in the original grid are not used (because there is no dot associated with it). plotting this took me over a day of solid, busy work. Enlarging the map is not an option because it really doesn’t give you any more detail (on the dot areas) if you zoom in. I can’t say if it is worth it or not. that all depends on your project. if you can get the client to pay for it, then it is def worth it.

I will say this. Once you have the dots plotted, it should be fairly easy to insert them into the map and the id tool. Contact me through my profile if you want to proceed.

I’m interested in purchasing this, but I am having trouble understanding the documentation. Also is it possible for me to use a large version of the map that features a detailed map specific to the US

you can use the id file provided to pinpoint the ids of the cities you want to target. however, it is not possible to add a large map specific to the US, unless you plot those points yourself (not something i’d recommend). Thanks for looking.

Great job mate, works beautifully!

Thanks. Did you buy it or are you just checking out the preview?

Can I use a detailed map of Spain? Can put in tooltip image, link and text? Thanks

no. currently, just the points for the are only for the entire world.

You can create a unique image (with all of your elements designed how you like them), or combine an image and text. Be sure to look at the examples and documentation to get a full idea of what can be done. Thanks.

Really great, will buy when I get the money, have only 6$ in my account now…
