Despite being able to contact the author for support and giving him root access to the server, the map feature would not work and after a while (several weeks) we were told that this kind of support requires a fee.
The investment is reasonable, but the time it took to have it not work is really not worth the effort. If it did work on some installation, good for you and consider yourselves lucky. Not everyone can enjoy the product.
Author response
The user doesn't know how to setup Google map API properly and even after going out of ny way to help i.e. fixing issues with his server setup which is not part of the support I am supposed to provide, I get this. Few of his server problems were: 1) MySQL strict mode was enabled. 2) Friendly url option was enabled but he failed to enable rewrite module of his web server. 3) Never asked for a root password but for some reason they insisted me on giving one whereas they could have created a new user with required privileges.
So after going back and forth in 43 email exchanges, I get this because he feels that he bought the script so I am obliged to solve his ALL problem, for example Google maps API misconfiguration in this issue due to which Google map is not appearing.
