For pre-sales question: if user closed the browser ? does it logout instantly or not? because when i test your demo it did not logout. can you confirm this? thanks
Hello,
It doesn’t track the browser close event. It only works if browser is open. It will also work if you opened the site in different tabs on a browser.
The WordPress Idle Logout plugin is not logging the user out on our website after inactivity. The popup is showing and working fine in displaying information that the user session is about to expire and they can either choose to continue or logout. But in the event that they don’t select any option and the countdown timer finishes, the popup still appears in is stuck on “logging out…” but it never logs out the user. You would have to refresh the page to get it to logout the user and for the notification popup to disappear.
If you could rectify this for us as soon as possible that would be much appreciated. I have raised a ticket on your website with additional details.
Thanks in advance, Kindest.
Sure, we would love to help you. Can you please create a support ticket so that our support team can act on it at their earliest.

Hello,
Please check and let us know if all good.
The plugin appears not to be working. I set the time to 120 seconds with a 10 second lead time before logout. The plugin doesn’t log the idle user out nor does it redirect to the page specified. Please let me know what I can do to get this resolved.

I’m also seeing no improvment. At this point I grade this tool a full F (for FAILED). Please ASAP repair this or refund my money. Results are expected by Friday, 10/28.
Hello,
Did you test the latest update? It should be working for you. If you are still having any issues then please send us your site details and we will check this for you.
Dear all, I deinstalled the old version and uploaded the latest version of your plugin. Unfortunately, it still isn’t working. I’ll sent you the site details in a separate e-mail. Please check if plugins or settings on my site may cause your plugin to fail, otherwise let me know how your resolved the issue.
Thanks in advance
I guess there might be something else. Thanks for sharing the details, we will get on it and get it fixed for you asap.
Hi,
I just deinstalled the pluging because it loggedme out while I was working on the site. Sorry, but this is not acceptable. I have to go back to another plugin that works better
Hello,
The plugin seems to be working as expected but the problem is that there is some jquery issues on your site. Please check your console you can see the issues. If those issues are fixed then it would work seamlessly. You might have some other jquery issues if that issue isn’t fixed.
Will this plugin also track that signed in users time on the site, as in how long they’ve been logged in?
Hello after install I am getting this pop up. How do I fix this? It it not showing the correct timer. http://imgur.com/a/CmB7I
Idle Time Limit set to: 300 seconds. Dialog Display limit: 60 seconds.
User is not being logged out and redirected upon timer expiration. Plugin hangs at the popup in the screenshot.
Please share your site details on support@magnigenie.com and we will have a look at it.
I have provided you with a screenshot. The is wordpress 4.6.1 and a fresh install of your plugin. I have tried with the default settings and the same thing happens. To me this plugin is not functioning properly.
I have tried this plugin on another website and it still does not log the user out when timer expires. Plugin is not working on two different sites.
I emailed your support email. Awaiting response.
Hello We got your mail but you haven’t shared your website url. Also we are testing it across the same wordpress installation and would get back to you.
Hello. I could not find a support ticket system on your site. If you email me back I can share the site details. I do not want to post here.
send it on support@magnigenie.com
I need a function where once the user stays on the website for 20 minutes he will be presented with a security question which we will set at the beginning (like we do for password reset), if he answers correctly he can unlock the screen.
Hello,
This isn’t possible to do it out of the box. You would have to make custom modifications.
Just checking if this plugin can also add woocommerce shopping cart session (idle) expire
If the user is logged in then the plugin will automatically logout the user. It can’t automatically delete the cart contents.
Hi, is this plugin also working for woocommerce customer session? thanks
Yes, It would work for WooCommerce too.
Hi, Say I set a time out of 4 hours. If the user closes their browser / tab will they be logged out after this time? Thanks
Well, this plugin works if user has opened your site and logged in and then he is not at his computer or is browsing something else on some other tab then it would display them a notice that you are idle for so and so time and then they will be presented option to either logout or stay logged in.
Hi can this be used on a website that doesn’t require a login? I need a plugin that will redirect back to the homepage after a period of inactivity.
Hi,
Sorry but it can’t be used for a website that doesn’t require login but if you want then we can modify and create something for you which would work if not logged in.
That might work. Can you give me your email address and I’ll email you?
you can mail us on support@magnigenie.com
Hi me again. Can you make this plugin work on the admin side of wordpress? Like count on the backend… Currently only works on the front end.
Thanks
Hello,
Yes this can work on the admin but it is not built to work on the admin side of the site. So its a feature request not a support query. If you want then we can develop this feature for you .
Ok. Can you add it as a feature?
But first there is a small bug (at least on my end). When two tabs are open with the website and both are counting down the timer, one redirects and the other gives a 404 error and the url is: currentsite.com/currentpage/undefined
I’m assuming it is because one runs properly and finishes counting however the other page is still counting by milliseconds and cannot run the redirect because it is logged out from the other tab….
Other ideas? I’ have not tried it on yours
Not really sure about this thing. We will check and verify but this should work seamlessly. Anyways we will test and verify and if there is any issues we will release an update for the fix.
Regards
Question. Does the timer count even if you are in a different tab or even have the browser closed? For example if you forget to logout?
Hello,
The timer count even if you are in different tab. If you close the browser then the user is automatically logged out. You can test this on our demo.

Great. I hope you keep maintaining this plugin. I suggest you should create a lite(free) version with limited access and have it on wordpress repository so people see it. It was a pain finding this on google.
Thanks
In reference to “WordPress Idle Logout”, how are you refreshing the timeout?
Is it done on page change or does it recognize when a user has not moved their mouse on the website for x amount of time?
Basically what it does is, it start tracking time after x seconds of inactivity. X can be set from admin . And once the inactivity time reaches the timeout time set on admin then it displays the pop-up.
Let us know if you want to know anything else.
Thanks
