Probably right in front of me, but I do not want the Day to show….just the weather…When I use [simple-weather location=”London, UK”], it still generates the Day name. How do I delete the day namesake? Thanks in advance.

You should use the parameter date to replace the day name with what you want. For example: [simple-weather location=”London, Uk” date=”“] should display the temperature without the day name. All the best.

Currently, we have two API weather feed providers: Open Weather and Dark Sky. Only Dark Sky provides weather feed in Greek for the widget. If you wish to use the shortcode, you can use both stations, as the day name will be translated in your WP install language. All the best.

I like this plug-in because it looks very nice and clean. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to v3 the daytime and nighttime temperatures overlapped making it look very messy and confusing. I had to go back to v2.2 til I can figure out the conflict.

Yes, if you are using the shortcode, you can use the date parameter to choose how the day name will be displayed. The parameter accepts standard WP values for date: http://php.net/manual/ro/function.date.php To display Tue instead of Tuesday, you should use date=”D”. All the best.

Yes, the shortcode displays the forecasted maximum temperature. The widget should display the current weather value showed by OpenWeather: http://openweathermap.org for your city. The value on the left, under the city name, is the current weather for the location. Right below, you can see the last time when the value has been updated. All the best.

Im using my own API so the problem with not showing up is gone. But i’ve noticed before sometimes i get very different weather predictions from the actual temperature, where are you importing these predictions from? i have a 10º difference in one case. This is for results in Portugal.
I see its from open weather, the results they have on they’re website if i search for the city are correct or very close. When i use the location coordinates for the same city it skyrockets + 10 º C. This is clearly an issue.
Even if it doesn’t have the temperature for that specific place (town or coordinates) the plugin should go and grab the nearest known temperature and publish that one, thats not happening.

You can add the weather info either through shortcode or through widget. If you want the weather box, you need to use the widget, as the shortcode is designed for a simple text display. How you will be able to overlay over images in your website, it depends on the theme, as the plugin does not have a featured image or a background option. If your theme allows you to integrate widgets or shortcodes in this way, it should be fine. All the best.
