Can a plugin speak on…?

The basis of the plugin is Google Cloud Services Platform. The plugin can use only languages listed on the Supported Voices page. If your language is not on the list, then the plug-in does not yet support speech in your language. However, you can be sure that as soon as Google adds new languages to the list of supported voices, it will immediately be available in the settings of the plugin.

Do I have to pay Google?

Google provides a free quota of 4 million characters every month. If your website consumes more, then each next million characters will cost $4. Here is Google Pricing. In the Google settings, there are quotas for dropping money from the card, and you can set them to $0. And when the free characters quota ends, the plugin will stop working until next month. If your site is small or medium in terms of content and traffic, most likely you will have enough free quota. But if your website has hundreds of publications and thousands of visitors every day, you have to pay Google.
