If I install this plugin on WordPress, can I embed videos on other websites? Can I upload and publish my own videos through this plugin?

You can play MP4 videos hosted on your server or third-party servers as long as you have the direct url to the MP4 file. Example: https://domain_name/some_optional_path/file_name.mp4
It doesn’t have the option to embed the videos on other websites
1. Is it possible to default to .webm instead of .mp4 for those browsers that support it? Webm files are smaller and thus quicker to load without loosing quality. 2. Also is it possible to preload the next clip if you have a sequence? Currently I have a small video clip which downloads first and then a larger file containing multiple clips – this it to avoid the breaks between each clip if you add them separately in the player. 3. Finally what is the best option for showing captions so they are readable on both mobile and desktop. Currently I have the captions embedded in the video clips but this means they are restricted to a small width if they are to be readable on mobile. The website is wetasydney.com.au

You don’t have this option when used as video background.
Because of browsers restrictions for video autoplay, you have to have it mute to autoplay

You can replace the thumbnail image associated with the video with a “restart” icon because when you click the bottom right thumbnail the video will restart

Starting with Safari 11, Firefox 66 and Chrome 66 the autoplay will not work because Apple & Google disabled autoplay feature and it can’t be controlled from JS. It autoplays only if the video is muted.
So you need to set
Initial Volume: 0
in Manage Players->Players Setting
