For the T-Rex runner, Is there an easy way to have the game start at a faster speed?
Hi! Unfortunately, there’s no way, because the acceleration starts from zero and gradually increases. But I’ll open the file and see if there’s any way to make a quick edit. If it works, I’ll let you know.
I managed to change the initial speed here. Well, you need a Construct license and intermediate knowledge of the program. Here’s how to do it:
- In the Construct program, under Projects, in the Event Sheets folder, open “events_game”; - Within “events_game”, there’s a group of actions called “speed”; - Within these actions, look for “System | game = “play””; - There are the actions “Add 3 to bullets_speed”, “Add 0.5 to bullets_speed”...; - Change these values to 50 or higher. Test and make a backup, of course.

I undestand that customization isn’t a support but still want to ask you if you can give some advices on how i can adapt this game to a vertical screen?
Hey! Wow, the vertical screen requires a lot of modifications, and I don’t think it would look good.
There would be little space and time to make the dinosaur jump, so I would have to change the size of everything to not affect it so much. And most importantly, reposition the positions of everything. Do you know how to program in Construct? Because you have to change a lot of things…
Kinda did it https://matveymatvey.com/smiletogo-runner/ still need to fix death animation, but everything works and game is playble (playtested it on few friends who didn’t know original was landscape)

i’ve change layout size to 1080×1920, I moved everything in layout to the vertical center of the screen, Adjusted in event sheet Y coordinate of cacto and pter (on cacto spawn set Y, and pter choose Y), Moved character X position towards left side (game = play trex set X position), Made cacti sprites bigger, Changed sky background to fill screen to the top, Changed ground tiles to fill screen to the bottom, Created grass and ground backdrop to fill screen to the bottom to fix horizontal gap between ground tiles.

Hey friend! How cool, your message made me very happy. Construct is ready-made programming, if you have some experience with programming, X and Y positions, you will be able to make this change.
But this game is simple, there are few objects, little programming. But a bigger game would be much more difficult… But it would be possible, and from your comment, I already know that it is possible to achieve it.
What did you think of the programming? I try to make edits as easy as possible, and I try to keep the code clean and organized.

But there are pterodactyls in my game too. But they only appear after a few seconds of gameplay, just like on Google.

Hi, thanks for the response I understand how it should work on a local server. I have downloaded the asset and unzipped (unpackaged it, I am on a mac) it successfully unzips and I can see all associated files. When I navigate (on my local machine) to trex_runner>game>version_colour>index.html it open in my browser but only shows a black screen. I have java turned on and I have the same issue on Chrome & Safari. I don’t want to edit it further in ConstructI just need to change the images out. I haven’t edited any of the files yet so its not something that I have done
Okay, I understand your problem. But I don’t know a way to view the game without being online, or with a local server. Before it was possible in Firefox, being offline. But nowadays it is no longer possible. I don’t know how it would be on Mac because I work on Windows, but I’ve tested it now in other browsers like Safari and Edge and it didn’t work.

Hi, thanks for purchasing my game! You can view game edits on your website or on your server. It is not possible to see the changes with the online game only.
You can also view the game’s edits in the Construct 3 or Construct 2 program.

Hi! You can do all that, but it would not be simple. These are very complicated modifications. You must have advanced knowledge in the Construct program. Regards!

When putting the t-Rex game on a web viewer and presented on iOS, it’s only showing a portion of the screen. Can you advise?
