1) Is it possible to store the recorded audio on our own server? After the text-to-speech audio is generated, do we receive an accessible MP3 file that can be played repeatedly, or is the voice generated dynamically each time an end-user visits the page?
2) I would like to replace the audio generated by the plugin with my own recording while keeping the same file name. Will this approach work without issues?
3) Do you have an option for OpenAI TTS-HD ?

1)The audio file is generated from the admin panel on the required pages and stored on your website in the wp-content/uploads/storyteller directory. It is then played back to users through the built-in player. If the page is updated, you can regenerate the audio, and the file will be replaced automatically.
2)You can replace the file with your own by directly uploading it to the corresponding folder with the same name. However, the Storyteller plugin also supports custom audio. This means you can simply select the audio file you want to use in the player while editing the page.
3)No, it is not supported.

Hello! This is expected behavior, not an issue that needs to be fixed. When adding the player via the Elementor widget, you will see a notification indicating that the player’s styles can be configured directly in the Storyteller plugin settings, rather than through the widget.

Hello, I have some pre-sale questions please. i see you do a number of plugins and I don’t want to buy the wrong one.
1) I’m looking for a plugin that will allow me to specify sections of text to read out (not whole pages). Ideally I’d like to create my own text files for this.
2) I need compatibility with WPBakery and Elementor.
3) It is for a small hobby site so I was hoping to have a single yearly fee only however many times the audio is played. If this isn’t possible I need a very cost effective option as while I don’t anticipate the articles will be played loads, some are very long.
4) I am considering making this an option for paid members only on my site – is this possible?
5) Is there an option to try before buying to see if it works for me?

1) The plugin allows you to generate audio for the entire post/page or exclude unnecessary parts to generate audio only for the required parts.
2) The plugin can work regardless of the page builder used on the site. However, it also includes addons for WPBakery and Elementor.
3) The price for the Storyteller plugin is one-time and includes lifetime updates. Please note that the plugin uses an ElevenLabs API that charges for the characters used when generating audio. You can start using ElevenLabs API for free but to use it fully you will need to buy one of the plans https://elevenlabs.io/pricing. The fee is charged when generating or regenerating an audio file, regardless of how many times the audio is listened to.
4) You can restrict access to the player for certain user roles through the assignment settings. The membership functionality itself needs to be organized using third-party plugins.
5)Unfortunately, there is no trial version available. As an example, you can try our Speaker lite plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/speaker-lite/ , it is based on the same voiceover functions as in the Storyteller but uses Google Cloud API instead of Elevenlab. Of course, the Storyteller has more advanced capabilities.

One audio file can be generated per page.
To add multiple players on one page you can use shortcode https://docs.merkulov.design/storyteller-wordpress-plugin-settings/#Player with audio from other site pages.
I only see an option to include a shortcode with a page ID which won’t work as it’s not on another page. I’ve downloaded the audio file as an mp3, so how would that work with shortcodes?
The Storyteller plugin allows you to display a player with the audio of the current page or audio from another site page via a shortcode [storyteller id=PAGEID]. If I have signed up to an account at ElevenLabs to get and pay for audio and then need to use an mp3 player to use those clips, why do I need Storyteller? Could I arrange a refund please? This isn’t going to work for me.

Thank you but as I can create the audio from text directly on the ElevenLabs website and (as previously stated), only need it for sections of text in a page, this won’t work for me, so I’d like to request a refund please.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, but the description of Storyteller states that it is integrated with the ElevenLabs platform via API with all the associated functions. To generate audio separately on the ElevenLabs platform and then manually add third-party audio files you can use a regular audio player which Storyteller is not and was not advertised as such.

Hello! You need to generate an audio file for each page/post to display the player on the page. Audio is not generated automatically when you install the plugin. Autogeneration can significantly increase your budget for using ElevenLabs API.
