I’m experiencing an issue with the “Support for Progress Map, Submit Locations” WordPress plugin. Whenever I try to add a location, I fill in all the required fields (without adding any custom fields). The image uploads successfully, but then a warning appears saying “The field is required!” even though there is no visible field asking for input.
Could you please assist in resolving this?

It works perfectly, can you tell me where I can edit the submitted locations? And where can I add the search bar for the addresses, So if you want to search for an address on the map? Also, I see that if you move up or down a polygon, and I have several, it loses the information inside the Polygon Paths and some other fields.

The submitted locations can be modified from the administration panel. Navigate to your post type, where you’ll find your locations. For instance, if your map is linked to the “Posts” post type, click on “All Posts” to access them.

I have a problem with the custom fields I made in ‘Submit Location’. When I create a new location in the back-end the custom fields are there in the right place. I can create the location with desired custom fields. But when I edit the location, something simple like adding description the custom fields disappear?
Same for the front-end submission, works okay, but the fields disappear when I edit the location

Okay, so when I disable the ‘Post Types Parameters’ (Select the post types for which Progress Map should be available during post creation/edition.) in ‘Plugin Settings’, I can edit my entries. Hope this helps finding a permanent solution because this is only a workaround! Please let me know, I contacted you directly per email.

After debugging the issue, I confirmed that there was indeed a bug affecting the display of custom fields on the add/edit post page. I have now fixed the problem and applied the corrections to your site. These fixes will also be included in the next update.

After submitting a location with custom fields, if I go to that Page in the Wordpress admin section, the “Custom Fields of xxxx” section is shown twice.
As a follow on to this. I changed one of the field names yesterday. Now the first set of Custom Fields shows data in that original field from posts created prior to yesterday. The second set of Custom Fields just has the placeholder. For posts created today, it is the opposite. The first set of Custom Fields just contains the placeholder for the updated field while the second set of Custom Fields displays the submitted data.
Now the “Custom Fields” section is showing up 5 times on each page. I don’t know what is going on.
I am noticing in the “xxx_postmeta” database table that there are two entries for each custom field – one the actual name and one with an underscore beforehand: 1. meta_key: link_to_hotel meta_value: http://hyatt.com 2. meta_key: _link_to_hotel meta_value: field_652989ffb047a
It feels like it is related to when I edit the post as the duplicate fields (with the underscores) are only showing in about 25 out of 80 posts. In addition to the custom fields that I have created in the Submit Locations module, I have two additional custom fields created with ACF (Country and the website link) that I go in and edit after the user submits the location.

Slight design change I’d suggest. For the GPS coordinates section, put the “Get Pinpoint” button BEFORE the Latitude and Longitude fields. As you progress on that page, you have the search field and then the search button. It becomes confusing then to have two blank fields before another button. It makes it look like the two fields need to be filled in before getting to the button. Even when you tab thru the fields on that page, it progresses thru the map and then to the Latitude and Longitude field before getting to the “Get Pinpoint” button.

The plugin doesn’t provide any custom post type. It is designed to work with the (custom) post type already available in the site. In your situation, you can utilize the plugin without encountering any issues.

Hi codespacing, I recently purchased the plugin. I have created additional fields that the user must fill in when sending their card on the map; I inserted fields such as instagram links etc.. but when I click on an approved card that appears on the map, it takes me to a page and I only see the name of the card and text of the post content. How can I display all the fields I added on that page so the card is more complete? Thank you

While the plugin does allow you to create additional fields, the task of displaying them on your single post page is left to your discretion. You’ll need to edit your single post page and include the necessary code to showcase the content of these custom fields. Alternatively, you can opt for a plugin such as “Get Custom Field Values” to streamline this process.

I think you can achieve that by creating new custom fields for your submit form and by naming those fields the same name you named ACF fields. For example, if you have named a ACF field “place_address_cf”, create a new field for the submit form and name it also “place_address_cf”, this way the data will be saved on the same place.

I’m trying to add custom fields to the front end submission but can only seem to add three. If I try to add more, it doesn’t give any type of error message but they just don’t seem to save so next time I open the map, it is just showing my original three custom fields. Any ideas?
I should also note that in trying to edit a taxonomy I created, I am unable to change the Display type from my original selection of radio-inline to radio (since the custom fields don’t have a radio-inline option to make it consistent).

Please note that the default WP fields type (Title, content and Excerpt) cannot be changed. This is to keep the WP standards of adding posts. With this in mind, you can’t change the excerpt textarea to dropdown.
Regarding changing the order of the custom fields, yes you can change their order. To do that, edit the custom field to which you want to change the order and use the up/down arrow at the bottom to change the field position. Please note that in order to keep the WP standards of adding new posts, the position of the default fields cannot be changed.

Hello, I am adding custom fields to the submit locations plugin form. When I get to custom field 10, it doesn’t work anymore. I can’t validate the “Select” display type (for example), it always stays in text. I can’t add any more custom fields (I have about twenty to add…) Do you know where the problem could come from?
