I had the same problem as created4design. Soon as plugin was installed the menu disappear. I go to the user section by index.php?option=com_users&view=groups.. I select all and save but nothing is actually saved.. It says its saved but no boxed are checked anymore

I have figured out that you need to select each box manually and then save.. If you use Select all and save then no changes will save. Other then that I think you did a great job. This plugin is pretty helpful and so fast to setup. thanks
In your instructions it says to upload all the files via FTP..Later I figured out it can actually be installed through extension manager. You should update that in your docs.
actually today now that I chieck again nothing is saving.
Hey Devsmi It is my fault, that – the plugin I made for me, was only via FTP install, then, to be able to sell it, I need to create the installer for it, I uploaded the files, but I didnt change the intrusction.
My bad, and I appologise for this.
I wil try to find time to set this up.
Anyway.. Please, tell me what is your browser, your Joomla version, anything you can tell me, any hint is welcome, then, please tell exactelly what is the issue.

JUST AN IMPORTANT NOTE AFTER INSTALL: Once installed, the plugin disables the main menu right away after install. so you’ll need to navigate to
/administrator/index.php?option=com_users&view=groups
And make sure you “Check All” in the super user group. This had me stumped for a while, because my menu disappeared right away so i uninstalled the plugin and it still left my main admin menu invisible (even-though i installed it) after much checking around, i re-installed the plugin and went to my usergroup and enabled all menu items.
I just got confused for a sec is all, all working great.
Hello and thanks for purchasing. I tested on a clean Joomla 3x install and the plugin didnt disabled the main menu.. I can not understand what have you done there.

This is great also, so that your customers (clients) can see only a specific menu they pertains to them rather than a bunch of stuff in the way to confuse them that they will never use anyway. So even if there is a “Side menu” this is great. You can also use this with “a Custom Menu” plugin so that you can have a Custom menu show with your own special menu titles. These two could be powerful together.

Thank you The side menu is only in Joomla 3x, but can be disabled. It is identical with the top menu. In joomla 2.5x there is no side-menu.
However you dont need custom menu..only if you think is mandatory for your customer, but in my case, I let the customers to see only 2-3 relevant menus:
- SITE
- My profile- Maintenance- Logout- MENUS
- Menu manager- Left menu- Main menu- CONTENT
- Article manmager- Category manager- COMPONENTS
- VirtuemartThe other things he dont need it..is useless ..

I don’t understand. What is the purpose of hiding links in the top menu, if all links are still visible in the left menu?
Hello The concept was made first for Joomla 2.5, and here the left menu is missing. But with joomla 3x you are right – there is no sense. But following these steps will do the trick:
- Extensions / Module manager - Filter the administrator modules - Unable the left menu – Quick Icons
A super administrator will know how to use the administrator area without the quick icons, and your customer can only have access to the minimized menu.
A good thing, is, if you install something new, and that component/module will auto-appear into the top menu. Ofcourse, you (as SuperAdministrator) must go again in Groups Manager to allow/dissalow the permissions.
If worth it, in future releases, there will hide the left menu also
