Noticing an issue with BuddyPress 5.0 where if I attempt to create a Group I get nothing on the page and if I click Next Step I get “Something went wrong” on a page showing the following error: “The link you followed has expired.”. This occurs as I’m stepping thru each plugin to see which is causing the issue. If I disable this plugin I can create groups with all of my other plugins enabled. I’m running ver 3.6 on the latest version of WordPress. Any responses appreciated.

FYI there is a bug I need to report: The Pseudonymization tool, when enabled, disables the admin toolbar (unchecks it and prevents it from being re-checked), and also disables the wordpress visual editor (even when using the classic editor plugin).

In Data Access, users have to make a request to the site admin from the frontend dashboard after that site admin can send the data requested to the user.
Using Pseudomymization, you can Encrypt the user data in the database. In the website, it will be automatically decrypted and displayed.

Hi, I found a bug: as soon as I put automatic encryption under pseudonymization on, the visual and text button in the wordpress text / blogpost editor disappears. (Automatic Encryption Settings Encrypt Data Automatically)

Hi, I want to purchase your plugin. I have few questions: – can all the plugin features work and how would they if my site is not a membership site? My users do not log in at any point to my website. I mean how would it be configured and how all the EU rights will be satisfied from the plugins side (such as the right of deletion, ratification, access, retrieval, etc.) if a user simply leaves a comment through our CF7 form on one of the pages of our site? Is there a way to send him a link in the confirmation/auto-responder email for example stating links for him/her to access and to get all the necessary reports/confirmation for the deletion of his/her data?
Likewise, my site is in Dutch and English. Can I set the plugin in 2 languages from the back end or should I use .po?

- All the plugin features will not work for Guests. Features like Data Access, Data Erasure, Data Rectification are supported only for Logged in Users.
- For backend label customization, you have to use .po. We have given translated files for the Dutch language. You can make use of it.

In reply to katw, Query 1, selecting countries is not useful, because if the user from Europe uses a VPN, then you may think he she is not from Europe and no GDPR applies, although it does, then what do you do then? Should a user confirm he she is from Europe but is using a VPN? And if a European user is in another country, GDPR still applies, should the user confirm again to be from Europe? A user won’t do that and so you might exclude him her although it affects them.

Hi, it won’t matter the geo location, as said if an European user uses a VPN or is outside Europe, he she needs to consent. It is just work for your team for something you don’t need, better to have it for all countries active, it shows you care about visitors privacy. This is just a help for your team. You can also lookup the GDPR on the official EU website to understand it’s regulations. :)) I think you guys did an excellent job, a very good plugin, one of the best I have seen. :))

For enabling / Disabling according to geocode can you consider the following suggestions:
Option in menu “GPDR Countries” where the list automatically toggles all countries within scope of the legislation GDPR law.
Option in menu “All countries except” where the list selection (and users choice) defines the countries where it won’t show.
Query 2:
In the configuration you allow a privacy page to be chosen… but in other areas you expect the privacy content to be typed in the field.
Am I misunderstanding or are you effectively creating two privacy policy documents (one a page and other a field) which will cause confusion.
Query 3:
Data export file is not user friendly. Within the “intent” of the law users should receive a file that is meaningful so they can make reasonable requests to have data removed or corrected.
The file format and contents I saw on your demo site had unnecessary CSS styles at top and was anything but understandable. It needs to have more understandable labelling so they know what they are looking at.
Also it is unclear if their posts or comments are supplied. This is user data too shouldn’t they see this info in their file?
I see in the plugin you can re-assign posts to another user, but is that really allowed without consent??
I know user roles could be used to identify content that IS reasonable to expect it be retained even if user asks for deletion (eg employee doing posts on behalf of site owner etc)
Query 4:
Finally, I apologise if I missed seeing this but…
When a user asks for data to be supplied how do we know it is their data to look at? Do you ask them to validate a link? AND if a registered user ask them to login and validate request (two factor check)?

1. Thanks for your suggestions. We will make a note of it and we will check for the feasibility in our future updates.
2. Privacy Policy will be displayed for the users when they access the site for the first time and whenever it is getting updated. Without giving consent, users can’t access the site. This will be displayed in a Pop-up window. In other areas, only Privacy Policy hyperlink will be displayed. It will be redirected to a selected page. Hence, Privacy Policy is asked to type in the field for giving Privacy Policy Consent and Privacy Policy Page is asked for other areas.
3. As of now, the file will be exported in JSON format. In future, if feasible we can give export file in other readable formats.
In our latest update, re-assign posts to another user feature is deprecated. When the user data is erased, the posts will be marked as Anonymous. Previously, in Data Erasure, the user account will be deleted. Now, we have changed the behavior to delete only the user data. In this process, we have deprecated the re-assign posts feature.
4. Yes, when a user sends a request for their data, an email will be sent to them for confirmation.
