I am highly interested in your product (Dropr). It should be used for displaying an *.htm File that is hosted on dropbox and updated several times per hour. Is that possible?

I’m curious if this plugin would work with my setup. I’m currently redirecting any videos uploaded into WordPress over to a video encoding server. It does this using wp_handle_upload_prefilter and wp_handle_upload filters to move them to another folder which is actually the remote video encoding server connected through sshfs. On the video encoding server they are encoded to different formats and then uploaded to Amazon S3 and served from Amazon CloudFront.
My question is, how would I integrate this process into this plugin? I want to be able to select files from Dropbox like this and keep them in sync but I also want to serve the videos through the automatically encoded versions from CloudFront.
Hi I just installed this today. everything seems to work, I choose an time from the dropbox chooser window, then the next window, I cannot select the ‘embed this’ tab only the ‘insert as a link’ tab. It’s greyed out and I cannot click over to it. Can you please help met to get this working?
It must be a conflict with your theme or any plugin installed. If possible please create an admin account and share credentials with us. You can share it privately using the contact form on our website https://awsm.in/contact/
Hello Vidya, I sent in my credentials 5 days ago and have not heard anything back. Is there something you can do to get this working, or should I start the refund process? Thank you.
Hello, On rollover, I seem to have a light blue line surrounding the embedded item. I’m showing a Word document via Dropbox. The embedded item also shows the dropbox controls at the bottom (page number and options) wich allow the user to download or share the document. I would rather not show this?
The blue border and download options are something that comes by default with the Microsoft Online Viewer. The viewers, unfortunately, do not let us change or disable any features that come with them. So we cannot change the blue border in a matter of fact, any option within the viewer.
I am interested in purchasing. I want to have secure photos on my site, no downloads or shares or links? will this protect my photos?
The plugin does not come with any features that will protect your photos from downloading. The images will be embedded directly from your Dropbox and the visitors will be able to download them using the default ‘save image’ option unless you have installed any other plugin that prevents visitors downloading images
yes I know they can download them with the “Save image as” but i just dont want my images to have links that are public. I am hoping that having them in Dropbox will keep the actual link private. If the photos are in WordPress the links are sharable and people can access photos via a link i dont want that.
The photos will stay in your Dropbox itself and they will all be private. But ultimately, users will be able to find the Dropbox URL from the HTML source.
ok i purchased but I am getting an error message when I try to upload a photos from dropbox… error “Origin does not match any app domain”
Please double check your Dropbox API settings. The error usually shows up when you enter the URL wrongly in the “Chooser/Saver Domains” field.

I love this plugin and have installed it on a client’s site. However, they have some content in widgets and they would like to have the ability to link to Dropbox files using the Dropr plugin for that content as well.
I have the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget installed so my client can edit widget content using a visual editor, but the Dropr Dropbox button doesn’t appear in that editor. Is it possible to get it working within the Black Studio widget as well?
Any word on whether or not this request is possible?
First of all, my apologies for the late response.
Currently, the plugin does not support the TinyMCE Widget plugin. But the good news is that in the upcoming version of WordPress (4.8), TinyMCE comes as a default option for widgets and the plugin is most likely to support it.
No problem, thanks for the response Vidya. Looking forward to the 4.8 release.
Hi, I’m using the MS Word viewer to show a menu from Dropbox but when I update the menu on Dropbox it doesn’t update on the website. I’ve refreshed the website, clearing browser cache but it only seems to update the menu if I add a new shortcode which would defeat the purpose of the plugin. I don’t have any cache plugins installed on the WP site. Thanks.
The viewers cache your documents when accessed for the first time, to improve the performance. Microsoft viewer does not let us clear or update the cache manually.
The Google Viewer in our plugin comes with an option to disable the cache, though. You may use Google Docs Viewer and disable the cache
Screenshot for disabling the cache
HI Vidya, Thank you for the quick reply. I’ve added the Google Docs viewer, how do I disable cache?
You can disable cache by checking ‘Do not cache this file’ checkbox.
Screenshot for disabling cache is here
Unfortunately this plug-in doesn’t do what I want it to do. The documentation implied that you could upload folders from DropBox, not just files. This isn’t the case.
Because there is no demo or example, I didn’t find this out until after purchase.
Additionally, though I have associated my DropBox API key with Wordpress, and can view the dropbox files when I click the icon in the text editor, nothing appears when I select a file. I have to save and close the text editor, and can then view a Dropr settings box. However after clicking submit, still nothing appears in the text box, or on the live site.
Can I get my money back?
Is there a plugin that lets me upload a folder, not just a file, from Dropbox?
And finally, why the plugin does not seem to work in its current format.
Refund has been processed as per the conversation we have over the chat support.
I downloaded Dropr today after seeing it recommended on Elegant Themes. As I use Divi, seemed appropriate to go with their recommendation.
However, in the Divi builder, i click on the icon to embed an audio file. What happens then is the Dropr pop up comes up behind the Divi editing box. If I close the Divi box, and complete the Dropr box, it doesn’t go into anywhere.
Do you know if there is any way of using this embed feature within the Divi builder please?
Hi, sorry but I’d like to ask for a refund as it’s not working please. I read too late that this does not integrate with the media folder itself so using a builder is not possible.
As well, if I choose to have a text block in Avada this is a popup so after selecting an image on Dropbox simply goes away as if nothing has been done only after cancelling the text editor window do I see the Dropr image selection choices.
I agree with an earlier post that the limitations are not clearly stated enough and you have to sift through all the comments to find out (I found out too late). I can understand this for most themes but for VC and Avada I would have thought they were big enough that you should have noted they this plugin does not play well.
It does work well with the Avada theme and Visual Composer plugin. I am not sure about the issue you are facing. It also might be a conflict with any other plugin you are using. If you can provide us the admin credentials, we will check them and get back to you with the fix as soon as possible.
You can share credentials privately using the contact form on our website https://awsm.in/contact/
We have fixed the issue by adding the custom patch. Please check it and let me know if it works fine for you.
We have the plan to include it in the next update though.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. The patch works, thanks
Pre-purchase question: are images actually served from Dropbox? Or does this only present the images that are available on Dropbox, and when added to a post, adds them to the Wordpress Media Library?
Images inserted into posts will be directly served from Dropbox. Only the featured images will be copied to the Media Library for the theme to be able to resize them as per the settings.
I want that if any media is added into wordpress, it will should directly goes to google drive/dropbox. The media file should not be saved within wordpress website.
I want that visitors can not access the data through direct link.
Is it possible with your plugin?
Using the plugin you can just upload your files directly to your Dropbox account and insert them as soon as uploading is completed. The files will not be stored in WordPress media library. It cannot move any files that you have already uploaded to the media library to Dropbox though.
Hi, just another quick question with light box. You mention in an earlier comment that having lightbox is possible but I am having a very hard time getting it to work. Is there some guidance you could provide?
Could you please specify the requirement in detail.
Will they migrate to the dropbox api v2?
I’m a little concerned about the fact that the plugin is done in 2015 and now in June it stops working because I’m very interested
Dropr plugin uses Dropbox Chooser API which is independent of the main Dropbox API. The transition will not affect the plugin anyway.
I purchase this Dropr – Dropbox Plugin for Wordpress
so I can play mp4 files from dropbox directly on my site.
Its not working. Can you assist to get this working?
Could you please share with us the URL having the issue? You can share it privately using the contact form on our website.
ok so I think I am good now….got it to work.
hello sir, couldnt find an answer so far, just to confirm please: i have a dropbox folder with – for example – 50 images in it. i want the images displayed (but not stored) on my wordpress site. i need to build the blog post with visual composer and use the image-gallery of visual composer where i can set up to load images from external source. can i paste my link from dropbox fo the folder with the images there so that the images of the dropbox folder will be displayed on the wordpress site by using visual composer? thanks
Unfortunately, the Dropr Plugin works only with Visual Editor right now. We are still working on the gallery functionality. We understand how great of a feature it can be but it is taking more time than we anticipated.
thanks for your reply and good luck !
So far Dropr works well… I would like to see a “saved location” option when attaching from Dropbox. Right now every file I upload, I have to navigate back to that specific location from my Main Dropbox -> Folder -> Folder -> Folder -> Folder—> Specific File… It would be good to “remember that location” so I can jump back to that last folder I was in and select the next file.
Unfortunately, Dropr plugin does not have the option to see the ‘saved location’.
