I am a beginner where the author knows his subject very well. I looked at the code but change my mind about how to implement that functionality. The author wrote the code specifically for asp.net core 3.1. I decided to write code independent of any future of asp.net core and any version of jQuery. The key to resolve this challenge is to keep more than one jQuery version in your application. Anyway, I enjoyed the code.
