My friend, for some reason when i try to set a menu for non logged users or any other optin and then press ‘save’, the option is not saved.

help please

Thank you for buying the plugin. Sounds like you have a conflict with another plugin or your theme. You can try and deactivate all other plugins and see if it makes a difference. If it does then start activating one plugin at a time until you see the problem happening again. If it doesn’t make a difference deactivating all plugins then try and switch your theme to the default WordPress theme – just for testing so that we can rule this out.

If you submit a ticket at our Help Center we will be happy to help you.

Hi, pre purchase question: is it possible to display the name of the user that logged in?

Unfortunately that feature is not supported. I will add it to the wish-list ;)

I have already purchased WLB – I want whether i can customize wordpress dashboard using this plugin. I want to create a new user role using WLB as “staff” and give access to admin area except, i want them to access like posts, pages and other stuff. Can i do that with this plugin. Or is this just for front end menu editing.

Menu by User Role for WordPress is for the public part of WordPress, and White Label Branding for WordPress is for wp-admin.

You should use White Label Branding for customize what each user role has access to in wp-admin.

Hi,

I haven’t bought this plugin yet, but I’ve purchased WLB already. Doesn’t WLB plugin offer similar feature? Just curious and wondering if this is the light version of WLB.

Regards,

No not at all :) WLB is purely for wp-admin – this is for the frontend (public part of your website).

Thank you for supporting our plugins.

Does this create a menu or add a menu to a menu?

If you look at the screenshots you can see that it lets you create a menu for each user role.

I note on your own website that there is a 1.0.3 version containing ‘compatibility updates’.

Today, after using your plugin for months I note it’s no longer shoing any of the custom menus so hopefully your 1.0.3 might resolve that.

Can you please provide this update on CodeCanyon too.

Thank you for buying the plugin.

I will submit this to Codecanyon today, but it might take 24-48 hours before it is available. If you send us an email on support@righthere.com and include your license key we will send you a download link.

The plugin is not saving my settings. Other than the usual “it is probably a plugin conflict” how can I get this plugin to work?

Thank you for buying the plugin.

As you say.. the usual… :) You can try and deactivate all other plugins and see if it makes a difference. If it does then start activating one plugin at a time until you see the problem happening again. If it doesn’t make a difference deactivating all plugins then try and switch your theme to the default WordPress theme – just for testing so that we can rule this out.

If none of this helps identifying what causes this then please provide us with wp-admin access and we will review. Submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com.

Do you guys have a dashboard menu control by user role plugin? Let’s say I create a client role, but I only want to be displayed a few options on the dashboard menu.

If you look at our Pages by User Role for WordPress http://codecanyon.net/item/pages-by-user-role-for-wordpress/136020 – it makes it possible to allow access or restrict access to pages, posts, custom post types and categories. You can also use it for allowing or restricting access to Metaboxes on the WordPress dashboard.

With our White Label Branding for WordPress you can create custom dashboard metaboxes.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Well I’m not talking about the Metaboxes, I’m talking about admin menu in the dashboard but, to have control over on that menu for an each role user like it does Admin Menu Pro

Ok i get it… if you use the WordPress Capabilities this will also apply to the Toolbar (in the top) and it will work by User Role.

Hi, does this plugin protect account sharing..? for example it will ban the user if 2 ip try to login using the same username & password..?

my second question is if i set that someone with username : matt to his special page (e.g : www.mydomain.com/member/matt) so, can someone with different username or user role see the page or it will prevented..?

There is no IP block built into this plugin. It allows you to create menus for each User Role and then assign them to the places, which is supported by your theme.

If two users has the same user role they will be able to see the same pages. This is not a by user menu plugin – but by user role.

We have another plugin that works great together with Menu by User Role. It is called Pages by User Role http://codecanyon.net/item/pages-by-user-role-for-wordpress/136020 – and it allows you to prevent or allow access to pages, posts, custom post types and categories based on user role.

You can also display different content on the same page based on the user role of the user.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

This plugin does not work. If you read this – stay away from it!

It does not look like as on the screenshots and it also does not store any settings.

Total waste of money. To bad that codecanyon does not refund.

I’m glad you found out that it wasn’t our plugin, but your theme that was the problem. It would be nice next time that you would contact us and try to get help, before posting statements like you did.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with ;)

Yes you are right. I must confess though that I am currently absolutely pissed about the envato/codecanyon support. There are many bad and poorly created plugins in the marketplace and often it is hard to get a hold of the vendors or envato. So i became pretty harsh when i detect stuff not working as sold and supposed to. I post it public to help prevent other loose money on junk. I just got an extension for 70 bucks the other day – not working – no way to get a hold of the creators or envato. sucks.

Just to be clear – there are broken elements in your plugin too. As I mentioned – the most prominent spot to set the settings does not store the changes – which is pretty much confusing. But when clicking around one can get it working – which is all that counts for me right now.

Thanks for your quick response though. If i purchase something from you guys again & face issues – i know support is available so i will be more patient.

cheers

It would be a good idea to quickly read through some of the comments on the authors dashboard. As you can see all comments on our dashboard gets addressed within 24 hours.

I’m sorry to hear that you have had bad experience with other authors. If you can’t get hold of them – please contact Envato and let them know. It is important that Envato marketplaces keep a high standard.

There are no broken elements in our Menu by User Role for WordPress. It is an extremely simple plugin with almost no interface.

It all depends if your theme supports dynamic menus (WordPress menus). If not then the plugin will not work.

You simply create a WordPress Menu and then select where you want it to be displayed.

We will be happy to work with you and help you if it turns out that our plugin is the problem.

Today I bought wlb, menu tool and page restriction tool.

Please provide manuals. Thx

Thank you for buying the plugins. In reference to Menu by User Role for WordPress just look at the demo website and the screenshots http://menu-by-user-role.righthere.com/plugin-screenshots/ – there isn’t much more than this to it. It is very simple.

In reference to Pages by User Role for WordPress you just check the box for the user role you either want to allow or restrict access to a pages, post, custom post type or category http://plugins.righthere.com/pages-by-user-role/

With White Label Branding for WordPress you should also look at the screenshots. Each screen is pretty much explaining itself. There is a lot of different settings and no users wants the same settings. It is completely up to you want you want to do.

If you enable the Role and Capabilities Manager in the Advanced Settings it is a good idea to look at http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities – so that you fully understand how the WordPress Capabilities work. Also remember do NOT change the capabilities of the Administrator User Role as you can lose access to features in WordPress admin.

If you want to provide a customer access to WordPress admin, but do not want them to be Administrator you might want to take a look at this http://support.righthere.com/knowledgebase/how-to-create-the-fake-administrator-with-white-label-branding/ (you need to be logged in to read this).

If you run into any problems please let us know.

What is. Purpose for dashboard metabox? How to use it?

Not sure what you are taking about .. dashboard metabox? I think you are posting this the wrong place. If you are referring to the Dashboard Tool in the White Label Branding for WordPress you can create custom metaboxes where you can display information for your users that have access to wp-admin. If you have any questions about WLB please submit them in the right place. You might also want to look in the knowledgebase on http://support.righthere.com.

Thank you for supporting our plugins.

Totally not saving menus… broken! I have deactivated ALL plugins using vanilla wordpress and STILL does not save.. “support tickets” useless. Too bad, this plugin would be awesome if it worked.

I’m sorry for the trouble you are experiencing. I asked you 8 days ago to submit a ticket. Did you submit a ticket? Did you provide wp-admin access? I see you have rated the plugin one star, which I think is a bit unfair – if we have not had the chance to fix the conflict in your site. I don’t want to sound rude, but I’m 90% sure that this is a problem related to your theme or another plugin.

If you submitted a ticket please provide us with the ticket number and I will get the lead developer to review this.

Hi,I am using this plugin.i have created different menus and assigned to different roles. But,its not working. its showing the same menu for every user role.I have tested it before at the time it was working. But, Now its not working.

Can you please help me out as soon as possible….

Thank you for buying the plugin.

Hello,

I have a question concerning the plugin:
situation: I’m using a specific location powered by “sticky menu” plugin (top navigation bar)

However you screenshot demo looks nothing like my wordpress 3.9 menu backend display.

Here is what I’m trying to achieve – I want to create some menus which will display on the same location but under different conditions /> - Public Menu (top bar location) – displays menu item a,b,c
- Logged in Menu (top bar location) – displays menu item x,y,z

How do I achieve that with your plugin
Thanks in advance!

- GM

Thank you for buying the plugin. The plugin supports creating menus for each user role and supports WordPress 3.9.1. I don’t know the plugin sticky menu… but if you submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access we can take a look at it. Please include description of the problem and how we can recreate it. You can add the login credentials to the ticket (tickets are not visible to the public).

Pre sale question: I want to create a menu that is visible to everyone whether or not they are logged in. It will be a global menu/navigation for the entire site, plus each departmental sub-site (sub pages) will be able to create and manage their own menu/navigation. I want the global menu to be editable by only super admins, but all the other menus to be editable by normal admins. Will this plugin achieve this functionality?

Basically, I want two menus, one that is editable by super admins and no one else, and another menu that is editable by admins (or anyone with access). I look forward to hearing back from you.

This plugin allows you to create menus for each user role on your site. This plugin doesn’t let you create a menu on the main site, which is then visible on all sub-sites (that would be nice). :)

However you can use the plugin on a WordPress Multisite and you can configure it on the main site and create your public and private menu. And then you can have the Administrators of each sub-site do their own menus. They can not access the main site menus in Appearance > Menu as they are not Super Admin.

I hope this makes sense.

Yes, and no. View our current site here http://www.plu.edu/ucom/.

As you can see, it’s outdated and so we are in the process of completely redesigning and moving to wordpress. View the global header on top of the page, with the links “Academics”, “Administration’, “Athletics” and “Campus Life”. That is a global menu when you view the site, whether you’re on the /english departmental site or the /president site. Then, each sub site has its own navigation for staff, resources, information, etc. I want to create and manage the global nav in wordpress, but only make it editable for us as the developers, but I also need to make it work for the departmental site admins to manage their own menus.

Does the plugin only make menus visible or not on the front end? Or does it restrict access to certain menus on the backend of wordpress from being editable to certain user roles?

Menu by User Role is for managing menus in the frontend. It is not in the wp-admin. We have a plugin called White Label Branding for WordPress, which lets you customize wp-admin and what the different users have access to. We also have a WordPress Multisite version.

Will NOT save settings. Tried on multiple websites. Bummer..

Thank you for buying the plugin.

Hi

I want to use this plugin. If i create custom roles will it display in Configuration ?

Yes.. any custom user role that you have created will be picked up. http://cloud.righthere.com/image/1u002Z403A2a (in this sample you can see we have added one called Translator)

Thanks for your Reply.

Thanks for your response. And i have seen the Screenshots of your Plugin could you explain what is the difference between Public and Visitor users

If you visit this page http://menu-by-user-role.righthere.com/try-it-now/- you can check out the features and test it.

A distinction is made between users that are not logged in and users that are logged in. Any user that is not logged in will see the public menu. And when a user login they have a specific user role – you can with our White Label Branding for WordPress create custom user roles, and these will also be picked up by the Menu by User Role plugin.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi ,

I would like to buy this plugin and i have more than 10 sites can i use this plugin in all the sites once i purchase?

And i am using some features in my website like restricting the pages to the users , will this plugin will conflict with any other plugins ?

Please let me know so that i can purchase this plugin it is really need for my sites.

Thanks Vasista

Thank you for looking at the plugin. Please take a look at Codecanyon license terms http://codecanyon.net/licenses – as you can see Codecanyon doesn’t offer a Developer License. You will need a Regular License for each website you use the plugin on.

However if you have a WordPress Multisite installation you can use an Extended License and then use the plugin in all the sites, but this only apply to WordPress Multisite installation.

Remember that you do get free support for each site and you get free updates.

Thanks for your response. And i have seen the Screenshots of your Plugin could you explain what is the difference between Public and Visitor users

I see that you have two threads open with the same comments. I’ve added my reply to the other :)
