You need to add the videos in the playlist.
You can set any dimension you need using the plugin parameters.

formatting looks OK in preview but it gets all wonky in actual upload to server…the player, the current video and the gallery images all just stack below each other

You need to add in the playlist, the YouTube ID for each video. Due to the fact that it supports both YouTube & Vimeo, it will not grab the videos from your channel by itself

It is not a WordPress plugin, is a jQuery plugin
It can be used with WordPress but it requires some WordPress skills. Please check help documentation, ‘HTML/JS code for implementation’ section and try to adapt it for WordPress

You can set ‘autoPlayFirstVideo’ parameter to false when you initialize the player
