is it possible to merge/split columns? if not, could it be?
is it possible to set custom color scheme? if not, could it be?
I found the VC plugin from the X theme – it seems VC from that theme isn’t compatible – is that true, or have I missed a step?
Going to add my 2 cents worth on the 15 templates – that would have been a great starting point for the learning curve of using VC, and part of the reason I purchased the add-on.
I noted it is not possible to change neather the header nor the footer of the site. I need create templates for my sites that allow to change header, content and footer. Do you know some plugin to do it?
I too came here looking to find out about the 15 free css themes and read many times here in these comments that it is depreciated due to lack of interest but you may want to reconsider this statement as it appears in fact that there is a very large interest if it keeps coming up, especially for those that purchased this as a key selling point. It’s advertised in the product image here and also on the WP bakery page. Many would classify this as false advertising. My version was bundled with a framework so I can’t complain.
However, I do have a suggestion. I realize that the current build only allows for full “blocks” to be saved as templates. But for example, I often use VC 2-column row to provide a sidebar, where the sidebar has the “template” stuff, i.e. ads and contact info that is to be the same across all pages and the other main column has the unique content. Using a template the main content block is not editable except only across all pages via the template. If you could figure out a way to allow the templates to be edited inside the individual pages where parts can be marked as overridden while keeping the other parts global, this would be a huge improvement.
For now, I am thinking of using a shortcode tool to get around this and provide dynamic content within the templates “main content” areas.
I purchased, but I can’t find any themes in “Settings > Visual Composer > Templatera”. There was nothing , just display ‘import/export. How I can get ‘15 Fresh CSS Themes’ ?
In the most recent update CSS templates were depreciated, because of the lack of interest from users in that functionality.
Hi,
Can you put these build templates in widget areas also, or do you put them in content only? Thanks!
Visual Composer works with content only (it is designed that way), bit I know that some users where able to insert VC generated code into the widgetised areas without problems.
Finding this plugin extension to be very useful, thanks.
Is there a way to change the behavior of a Templatera template with tabs that are inserted within an existing tab section?
Layout is like this: page
-tab section (main)
—tab1
-template that contains tab section (sub-tabs)
—tab2
—-text
—tab3
—-text
What happens when clicking on the 2nd sub-tab the page seems to go to the 2nd main tab, losing your place on the page (with no regard to sub-tabs).
Having ability to have VC content like tabs within another page using VC is VERY powerful, if it all worked.
I don’t know if this is more related to Templatera or to the VC plugin and the way tabs work.
Accordions within a tab section work the way one would expect, but tabs do not.
Could you please share your site url where I can check what you are mentioned? If I understood you right, you are looking for a way to insert tabs within tabs. I never tried that, but I think it will have a problems…
Yeah, that’s the basic idea. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
Here is sample page with Templatera containing tabs inserted into parent page with VC tab area:
sitesubscribe.com/test-tabs-within-tabs/
(note: this page will only be visible a couple of days)
In this case there are 2 parent tabs, and 5 sub tabs. I noticed that if you click on sub tab 2 it goes to parent tab 2 (wrong behavior), but if you click on sub tab 3 it goes to sub tab 3 (right behavior), and likewise for sub tab 4 and 5 (right behavior). So maybe there could be some index that could be assigned only to a sub tab (on condition if tab section exists within a parent tab section then index = index + 50) so it isn’t confused with identical parent tab index, therefore keeping them unique (so sub tab 2 would become referenced as index 52). Just a thought.
Yes I see it now. We will take a look into it.
Hi Mixey – Just wondering whether you’re still developing / working on Templatera? Thanks, Richard.
Currently we are focused on Visual Composer itself, but yes there will be updates available in the future too.
Thanks. Any idea of timeframe please? Understand if you can’t say at this point.
We are very small team and main focus is on Visual Composer itself.
HI there Mixey. Hope you’re having a good Easter.
I was wondering whether you still propose to have the Templatera drop-down and other features work with normal posts (i.e., normal posts would be shown in the drop down) rather than the custom post type that the plugin creates, and discussed by me and hiegl above.
If so, do you have a release timeframe please?
Many thanks.
Kind regards Richard
Hi,
I just purchased this plugin and installed this on my WordPress 3.8.2 website using the Visual Composer 4.0.5.
Problem is that when I create templates using VC Templates, I can’t seem to use this when creating a page or post. The Templatera element option is not shown in Visual Composer at all. I’ve seen the video and there should be a Templatera element in VC but I don’t see this. Any ideas why I can’t see this element in VC?
Also, I’ll throw in my 2 cents as well regarding the free bonus themes … I too purchased this plugin in part because of the bonus. It states this on the item image and even states this in the documentation. I was disappointed to learn that the bonus is not being given any more. I would suggest that out of courtesy to your prospective buyers, all mention of this bonus be removed.
Thanks!
Thanks for 2c. Regarding original question. Please make sure that templatera element is enabled in settings->visual composer for your user role.
Geez …. I feel kind of stupid. Completely missed that.
Thanks!
Dito, where are the free templates?
We removed them due to the low interest and Templatera addon will be developing further more in the “tool” direction.
Hi. I just purchased Templatera, went to WP > Settings > VC Composer > Templatera tab, but nothing is there to import. There are no instructions about this in the documentation provided. Where do I find these 15 Free CSS Templates and how do I install them? Thank you
Templatera allows you to Export your templates, so you could Import them on another site for example.
In the most recent update CSS templates were depreciated, because of the lack of interest from users in that functionality.
Hmmm, okay, so why do you guys advertise 15 FREE CSS Templates on the purchase page? This is why I threw down $10 for the purchase. I know I can export my own templates that I create, but I was hoping to have 15 demo templates I could use, edit, export so that I don’t have to start from scratch. I don’t really care if they are CSS templates or CSS-inside-HTML or whatever.
I see that you have removed the text on the page for 15 Free CSS Templates. But it still is inside the product image banner at top. If you guys are truly removing this offering, please also update your product banner. Feel like I wasted $10 and 5 days to hear about this
But I’m sure the plugin is good for saving and exporting VC content that I create from scratch.
Hi, I have a pre-sale question: can I use templatera with Visual Composer across several WordPress MU network sites? Thanks!
Shouldn’t be a problem since this is regular WP plugins. So just make sure to “Network activate” it.
Hi Mixey. Just enough thought if that’s OK about the post/template population ideas above. I suggest it’ll be really important for the block that appears within the Visual Composer screen to identify the post by its title (or at least some of its title). Without that functionality, ordering different posts/templates, at least when there’s a significant number of them, would be very difficult. Thanks, Richard.
Needless to say I agree entirely with hiegl. Vielen Dank hiegl. Ausgezeichnet!
You could even set it up to allow the admin to select between regular posts or any custom post type… . I’m keen for regular posts but adding an option for the admin to select between different post types would be, well, superb!
I would also vote for the feature, that rnzde proposed. Templatera could be more versatile than just a VC extension. It could be the template repository, that WP misses. Maybe even export/import of such templates would be possible. Want a crazy idea? Think of a template marketplace in the future, where templates could be exchanged or purchased. There is a lot of potential in my view. Time to think big!
Hi, this in our minds already. And it will be implemented for sure.
Thanks in advance
Hi there Mixey. I’ve had a thought. How easy would it be please to have the Templatera drop-down and other features work with normal posts (i.e., normal posts would be shown in the drop down) rather than the custom post type that the plugin creates? Cheers, Richard
Actually, it should be easy. I’ll discuss this with our team.
Awesome. Thanks.
Hello, I’m getting extra P tags added when I templatize my layout with this plugin. They are breaking my layouts on the front end. I can send you a link showing these side by side if you email me.
Yes, please use form located in my profile page.
will do that now thanks!
Did you get the details. Curious to hear if you have any insights into this?
supports visual composer v4.0?
Yes, updated version is in the moderation queue.
Hi, this looks nice. I wonder how opaque the inserted template is. If I insert such a template, is it possible to add other elements only above or below this template? As VC uses rows with columns as building structures, is such an inserted template always a set of rows, that is uneditable, or could further boxes and elements get inserted “into” the template, maybe between the templates rows or columns?
Just to let you know, I have VC via Total theme.
Thanks, Bernhard
It’s very flexible. you can divide your page into the rows/columns first then insert template in one of your columns. Or place template at the top level of your page.
