Will this allow me to designate certain item types or category as free shipping and if they order an item from that category than all items ordered in other categories are also free shipping
if however you don’t buy a product from the free shipping category you have to pay based on weight and size of other product)
also will this work with fedex shipping plugins?
This plugin won’t be able to do what you’re looking for, but my Table Rate Shipping plugin should be able to.
http://codecanyon.net/item/table-rate-shipping-for-woocommerce/discussion/3796656This plugin can work alongside the FedEx, but it is a shipping method of its own so it cannot share data with other shipping methods.
Hi, this is a pre-sale question.
May i know how does this plugin work with the weight? Is it possible to charge the first 20g to be $3, subsequent weight would be $1 per 10g?
Can it also calculate shipping according to dimensional weight? The heavier(actual/dimensional) weight that is higher would be the weight to be charged.
Oh and may i know whats the difference between this plugin and your other 2 woo commerce plugin? They all seem to have the capability to calculate shipping based on weight.
Thanks! Kendall.
At the moment it is not possible to charge for weight like you described. Something along those lines is in the works, but it’s not finished yet and I am unsure when it will be.
Currently it can charge based on a range such 0.1 – 2.0 kg, and it can charge per weight unit, so $5 per pound. It does support dimensional weight and will take the higher of the two weights when calculating shipping.
There’s not much difference between the main plugin and this one. I believe I have a few options that they do not such as volumetric weight. They do have a plugin for it, but their shipping options tend to be split between many plugins, where as I try to keep it all within one.
Oh okay, thanks for your answer:) may I know which is the main one?
Thanks! Kendall.
Sorry, I ought to word that differently. By ‘main’ I mean the manufacturer’s version. In other word’s WooThemes. I assumed this was the one you were referencing, correct?
Hi,
Thanks for a great plugin. How do i hid to shipping methode if the total Weight isn’t met?
Best regards, Simon
I’m afraid at the moment there is only a maximum but I am working on a minimum to match it. Please check back for an update soon.
So I have just purchased this plugin and think I have figured out how it works… However I cant configure it the way I want to to work. I use two boxes for my business currently. A small and large one. Single items go in the small and multiple items go in the large box. I would like the weight limit to be 6 pounds for the small box and 12 pounds for the large box. So no matter what the customer orders in what ever quantity I would like plugin to figure out shipping and handling based on weight Qty and ship destination. I currently get shipping rates from my fedex plugin. NOT using the FLAT RATE option. So my question(s) are how does this plugin work with a fedex plugin? And can I get it to work they way I described above?
Next question is when I am setting up a zone It is a pain to have to specify all the states that zone is for . Example. I was setting up a west coast zone and had to enter 50 some entries to get it to work. Am I doing something wrong? It would be easier If I could just specify what states I would like in my zone. also there is no option to copy a zone. Can you please add that?
Are you sure you purchased this plugin and not my Table Rate plugin? According to CodeCanyon you have not purchased this plugin.
It sounds as though you have purchased the Table Rate plugin, however this plugin is a flat rate system that adjusts its rates based on a set of rules defined by an administrator. It is its own shipping method and cannot share information with other plugins such as the FedEx method.
When setting up zones, you can select states for countries whose states are defined. With the way that these boxes are designed, you may have to start typing the name of the state rather than the country, especially if you are using an older version of WooCommerce.
Simple (I think) pre-purchase question.
We want a variable shipping rate based on a percentage of the order sub-total. For example
Orders under $25 – 10% $25 to $50 – 6% $51 to $100 – 3%
It looks like your plugin will do this. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance.
Absolutely, this plugin will work well for the setup you described. Only one thing to mention, what happens above 100? This particular method will always return a shipping fee, and it works on an ‘Equal or Greater to’ basis, so in your setup, you would say Equal or Greater to 0 is 10%, Equal or Greater than 25 is 6%, and so on… So if shipping is free after $100, you will need to create a new row that says just that.
Thanks . . .that’s what I thought. We’ve actually already purchased the plugin.
WooCommerce support directed us to their “Table Rate Shipping v2” plugin for $200 . . . and I couldn’t see that it would do what we wanted. I checked out your own “Table Rate Shipping” but “Cart Based Shipping” seems the best solution.
Either one would have worked. The Table Rate plugin came after the Cart Based. It was designed to handle more complex shipping models but it can handle simpler ones as well. The biggest advantage is the support for international shipping and shipping options, but it does not seem like this is a concern for you. Good luck, I hope it helps with your store
So, if you don’t mind . . . what’s the difference between your Table Rate Shipping and the one WooCommerce is selling? Besides price.
Most of it is branding. Their code is written by a team of developers so it is probably better documented and written in a more concise manner. However, I focus less on how pretty the code looks and more on how it functions. I have been taking customer feedback since it was first released and I believe this one has more features than you will find with the WooTheme’s version and 4.0 is expected to gain even more. So mine is still under development which may bother some who look for more reliability, but I do my best to quickly correct any issues so my users feel less worried.
Thanks
I bought this plugin because it says: ‘Set a maximum shipping cost that cannot be exceeded’
But how ??
Hmm, it should be below the minimum price but before the ‘Maximum to Ship’. I can quickly add this back in and resubmit to CodeCanyon. If you would like, please send me a message via my CodeCanyon profile. This will give me your email address and I can forward you a copy so you do not have to wait for CodeCanyon to approve of it. I apologize for the trouble.
I only have the Cart Based Shipping activated on my cart and no matter what configurations I plug in for shipping, I always get the message “Sorry, it seems that there are no available shipping methods for your location (United States). If you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements please contact us.” Please advise.
I would need to see your settings and an example of what you have in the cart in order to best help you. Thanks
Hello, I just installed this plugin on a multi-site with ElegantBiz theme. I activated using Network Activate and also tried activating individually, but no “Cart Based” shipping option shows up. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I would need to see your settings and an example of what you have in the cart in order to best help you. This compatible with both single and multi-site versions of WordPress so that is not the problem.
Ok, thanks. I will set you up as a user…what’s the best way to send you the login info?
Nevermind, I figured it out. I compared my WooCommerce “System Status” to your demo page and saw that mine did not show WooThemes WooCommerce plugin installed (even though I was using it!). So I deactivated the Network Activation, activated it on my site, then re-activated the Network Activation. All is working now, thanks!
Great, I’m glad you were able to solve it!
Okay, I am stumped here…
I am using WooComm and I do have the Shipping Zone Plugin as well if that matters here.
Here is the situation: (orders are sold in the dozens – Cookies, etc) 1 Dozen – 7.95 Flat Rate for shipping (easy)
If they order more than 1 Dozen I would like them to be charged $3.00 for each additional dozen.
So, if they order 2 dozen here the shipping will be 10.95.
If they order 3 dozen then the shipping would be 13.95
And so on…
I followed the instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJQOp5_Ss3gIt solved the problem except one thing, when the customer is in the shopping cart they can change the quantity in the cart from 1 dozen to multiple dozens and the flat shipping rate of 7.95 remains the same.
Can this plugin in help me accomplish this?
I already purchased “Table Rate Shipping for WooCommerce” from you, will it do what I need?
Thank you
Yes, the Table Rate Shipping plugin is actually the only one that will be able to handle this properly. There is a bundle column there, so you can specify one cost for the first dozen, and a different cost for every dozen there after. All you need to do is set the quantity to 2, and the cost to 3 (in the bundle column) with your initial cost of $7.95 in the cost column.
Thank you. That sounds good. I tried it and it didn’t work, I think it is not working because what I have set up isn’t allowing it to work. How should I have the set up on the flat rate to make what you said work? I am using shipping class with a cost of 7.95 right now. I have what you said set up and I don’t see the change taking place. In the shipping class should I have the per cost, per item or per order selected? Or is this even the correct way?
Any help is greatly appreciated, my brain is melted at this point.
Thank you.
Hi
New challenge.
Product discount codes / coupons.
Not sure how I navigate this.
When a customer enters a coupon – for example a 10% discount, how do I get the shipping (10% of order total) to calculate based on the product totals prior to applying the discount?
Thanks!
Another user has asked me this question but I have been unable to reproduce this scenario. I’ve tried both the cart % and product % discounts, but both times the shipping cost is based on the subtotal. The discount is not taken off until after the shipping has been calculated. What versions are you running for WooCommerce and this plugin?
Hi
Am using 2.0.1.9 WooCommerce. And Version 1.0.1 of your software.
This is Scenario 1 (shipping is 10% of product order total):
Product 1 = $295.00 Product 2 = $150.00 Shipping = $44.50 Total = $489.50
The above is a perfect result, i.e. you plugin is working beautifully.
So the shipping for this order should be $44.50 based on original product price pre-discount
================= Scenario 2
Product 1 = $295.00 Product 2 = $150.00 Cart Discount = 20% = -$89.00 Shipping = $35.60 Total = $391.60
The shipping is calculating on Product 1 and Product 2 after the discount has been applied.
How do I get the shipping to calculate on Product 1 and Product 2 before the discount has been applied? I need the shipping to calculate on $295 and $150 respectively, and not on those products less a 20% discount.
I’ve done this within a GoDaddy shopping cart set up and it applies the shipping to the un-discounted products, then subtracts the 20% discount. The shipping is based on $295 and $150 regards of any discount.
Any ideas?
Well before I continue looking through it, could you please upgrade to the latest version: 2.3
I am unable to replicate the problem on my server which is running version 2.3 so it’s possible it was adjusted in a previous update. If that doesn’t work I will try out more scenarios until I find one that fits.
Version 2.3 is active. Many thanks for your attention to this. Would screenshots help in any way?
If this is still a problem, even after clearing the WooCommerce cache (you can do this by resaving your settings), then yes, please send me a screenshot of your cart page so I can try to mirror your exact setup. This will help me to better test things and fix if needed.
Perhaps it would be best to visit the website and test it live to see what it does. http://gannoncreek.com – use the coupon code CartTest which applies a 10% discount to the cart.
Hi, were you able to test this? Thank you for your attention to this matter!
I did, and now I understand your shipping model better. This may only happen when the shipping is a percentage. When I was testing before with flat rate fees and price ranges it all turned out correctly. It’s odd because they should use the same subtotal amount but obviously they are not so I will look into this and post a fix soon. If you would like it as soon as I have it, please send me a message through my profile so I will have your email. I can send you the ZIP file when it’s done.
Message sent! Many thanks.
Hello, your plugin looks great. I have a few questions before I consider buying it.
Can your plugin do the following? If it can’t, can you share with us an alternative. If it can, could you tell us how? Thanks.
Calculate and add in the shipping cost based on the following types of criteria:
1. Have a minimum weight ordered (example: 750 lbs.) (Meaning if the total weight is < 750lbs customer cannot checkout
2. Have a variable shipping rate depending on the total weight of the items in cart (looks like it’s a yes to this one) Example: If cart is 1201 lb – 1499lb then Shipping Rate = $25/lbs Example: If cart is 750 lb – 1200lb then Shipping Rate = $80/lbs
3. Apply a discount to the total cost based on the total weight of the cart Example: If weight is 3000-4999 LB then apply 2% discount. Example: If weight is 5000-9999 LB then apply 4% discount. Example: If weight is +10000 LB then apply 6% discount.
Again, thank you.
I’m afraid this plugin won’t meet your first criteria. It is designed to always return a rate. My other shipping plugin should be able to help. It’s more advanced and thus capable of more complex shipping methods. If a particular cart doesn’t have a rate specified, the shipping cost will not show up and thus the customer cannot checkout. This same plugin will allow for you to set ranges and then define the shipping cost for that range. It works just like the Cart Based plugin, just a little different to setup.
http://codecanyon.net/item/table-rate-shipping-for-woocommerce/discussion/3796656In regards to the discount, this really shouldn’t be done with shipping. This section is only meant to deal with shipping. You can only have one option and when you start getting into negatives, your payment methods won’t like it. However, I did just release a new extension for WooCommerce that should be able to help here. It is a fee manager, but you should be able to use negatives as well and thus issue a negative fee. It can be set as a percentage and based on weight, so the scenario you gave me would definitely work.
http://codecanyon.net/item/bolder-fees-for-woocommerce/6125068Thanks for the quick reply.
Based on the screenshots for this plugin, it looks like the shipping cost for the calculation method is a flat amount. For example, I want to use the weight calculation method, if I apply a shipping cost of $25 would that $25 be per pound? Or a flat amount to the products that are equal to and above the number I enter?
The other plugin also looks promising. It looks like each shipping table rate would appear as an option during checkout. Ideally, I would like 2 shipping methods selected at checkout. One customer pickup, the other delivery. The delivery method would apply a per pound shipping cost. (e.g. 25%/lbs) That rate would change based on the current total weight of the cart. If it’s between 1000lbs – 2000lbs rate = $25lbs, it it’s between 2001 – 4000lbs rate = $50lbs. Can the other plugin, “Table Rate Shipping” accomplish this?
I know I’m asking for a lot of specifics. Thank you again for your help.
Yes, with the Cart Based plugin it only flat fee or percentage. With the Table Rate plugin you can do either or. You can either define a range and set a flat fee, or you can charge per pound. The select box next in the ‘Cost’ column allows you to choose which method you want.
I do think the Table Rate plugin would be best your best fit. It’s more advanced so it can handle more, and if you ever need to change your shipping policy in the future, it will have more flexibility to do so.
Hello-
Pre-sale question. Can your plugin accomplish this:
Shipping is charged on percentage of cart total.
Additionally,
If the cart total is equal to or greater than $1,000 shipping is free.
Can I do this with your plugin?
Absolutely! You should only need to create two rows in this plugin, one for the percentage cost, and a second to define free shipping.
Thank you. It worked perfectly. Will keep an eye on your future releases.
Hi, I am wondering if this is what I need. I have tried to purchase the shipping extension for WooCommerce via extentionworks & WooCommerce websites. I have got no where with either place except dead ends and no responses back. I am beginning to wonder if it’s all a scam. I sell soap by the oz among other things like quilts. I am looking for something that will calculate shipping costs by weight of items total. Like if one was to buy a quilt weighing 10lbs plus 2 cakes of soap weighing 4.0 oz and 3.7 = 17.70 in weight. Can I do this with your plug in? and support? what about support with your product (though I see here you do answer questions ;))
Absolutely, this plugin can calculate based on total weight of the items in the cart. You can set however many ranges you would like, so 0lbs and higher is 2.99, 10lbs or higher is 4.99, etc…
If you’re looking to charge per pound as in shipping is $2.99 per pound, and 17.70lbs is $52.92, then you will want to take a look at my table rate shipping plugin. It’s more complex than this one, and this feature is offered only through this one
In terms of support I do try to offer quick, detailed answers. If you ask your questions through my support forum or CodeCanyon’s product pages then you should receive a response promptly. My email box gets rather cluttered so this is not as reliable of a source.
honestly, that made sense to me but it somehow eventually just goes over my head lol Shipping and I don’t get along. My mind just doesn’t calculate that way – guessing in advance – to set shipping prices. I don’t know which I need …
if you could point me to what would be most similar in type to the Woothemes USPS shipping method with box packer. I know that is what I need. From what you described that is sort of what paypal offers and I feel it’s a little to broad for what I am wanting?
Well I’m not entirely sure about the USPS plugin, but of the two shipping plugins the Table Rate is by far the most complicated. It will be able to handle much more than the Cart Based plugin. It won’t be able to connect to any specific shipper like USPS, but you can define your rates as you see fit with its Table. As long as you are willing to set up the table with the cost for each weight range you need, then the Table Rate plugin would be best.
http://codecanyon.net/item/table-rate-shipping-for-woocommerce/discussion/3796656yes I went ahead and purchased the table rate this morning! I will let you know how I do with it ~ thanks
Hi, I would like to buy this plugin but I need to understand if I can apply different rates accordingly to the total weight of the items bought. For example ITEM A is 1 kg, ITEMB B is 2 KG, ITEM C is 3 kg . If customer buy ITEM A ITEM B AND ITEM C the total weight is 6 KILOS. so it’s automatically applied the rates 5-10 kgs. If customer buy ITEM A and ITEM C total weight is 4 KILOS it would be applied the rate 3-5 KGS. iF customer buy only item A is automatically applied the rate 0-3 kgs. This is possible with your plugin? Thanks and regards, Giacomo
Yes, this plugin will only work with total cart amounts. So it can work with the total cost, total weight, and total number of items in the cart.
Hi,
my web site is for t-shirts. Could you please suggest what should i use to use color selector. Based on color selection I would like product image to change.
I’m sorry this, message board is really only for questions pertaining to this plugin. I would recommend searching the CodeCanyon website and speaking with an author of a WooCommerce extension that you need. There are color selectors out there, but I cannot recommend one to you as I have not used any myself.
Hi,
Could you please recommend any plugin to add some message text on Product Details page ? example – “If you do not see required size of t-shits, please email us and we will make that size available to you”
I want to display this message on all product details page..
The only message plugin I know of for WooCommerce is the one created by WooThemes:
http://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-conditional-content/#Hi,
I want to allow users to order multiple sizes (L,XL,XXL) of same t-shirt , but cart should only show price of 1 t-shirt (all sizes of same product have same prices)
Please let me know if you know any plugin for this.
Any flat rate plugin would work, but if you do decide to use the table rate plugin I suggested in your previous post, this would still work. The plugin does not currently support variations, so items will count as equals in shipping no matter what variation the customer chooses.
http://codecanyon.net/item/table-rate-shipping-for-woocommerce/3796656Thanks for the prompt reply. I am sorry but I am bit confused.
are you saying ‘table rate shipping plugin’ will be able to provide this facility ?
The plugin can calculate the price as if it is the same size. If you’re looking to alter how it is displayed on the cart page, then no, it cannot. This is strictly a shipping plugin. It cannot alter anything else. You can try looking, but I don’t think you will find anything because this is just the way that WooCommerce works. It’s hard coded into the system and not something you can really change. The system still considers each variation to be a different product.
Hi,
I want to allow users to order multiple sizes (L,XL,XXL) of same t-shirt , but cart should only show price of 1 t-shirt (all sizes of same product have same prices)
Please let me know if you know any plugin for this.
Hi,
1
I want shipping charge of 50 for order total below 800 and for order total => 800 I want free shipping
2
I want to ship items to list of zip codes only.
Please let me know if this plugin can do both or any 1.
Thanks
This plugin could set the flat rate or free shipping like you described, but there is no location support other than countries. If you want to use postal codes, I would recommend using my other WooCommerce shipping plugin.
http://codecanyon.net/item/table-rate-shipping-for-woocommerce/3796656Thanks for the prompt reply. I am sorry but I am bit confused.
My 1st requirement is- I want shipping charge of 50 for order total below 800 and for order total => 800 I want free shipping Is this possible with this plugin ?
My 2nd requirement is- I want to ship items to list of zip codes only. Like only to 400093,401233,502211 Is this possible with this plugin ?
Or are you saying only 1st options is possible with this plugin and 2nd is not. But to get both requirements implemented I should purchase ‘table rate shipping plugin’ ? Please specify clearly about 2 plugins..
You are correct, the only plugin that can handle both requirements in the Table Rate Shipping plugin.
So this plugin can only handle 1st requirement right?
Correct.
hi! i am interested in purchasing this plugin, however, my prices already include shipping and taxes. can i still use your plugin to adjust the total as my customer adds the items? E.g, single item costs 10 dollars, but if customer puts 2 items in the cart, I would like the final checkout amount to be 18 dollars instead of 20; 16 dollars for 3 items, etc. Can I do that using your plugin? Thank you!
It’s not meant to. This should only be used as a shipping plugin because after all that is what it is. For example, if you were to put a a negative shipping value into a PayPal payment method, the shipping would disappear because negatives are not allowed for this section. So it might work on the cart page, but once you start tendering money it is likely to fail. Now if you adjusted your prices and charged shipping, you could say that one item is $5 shipping and two items would be $8 in shipping, that is acceptable, but it must be a positive number.
